  1. OMG ive just had to go to the bathroom for some relief!!!!! how i want some of these!!!
  2. hi Jim i have a bag of the door card clips somewhere. If i can find them i will post you 3 out Drop me a PM with your address m8 & i will have a look as soon as i have chance :)
  3. pop the interior light cluster out from the left hand side - take care to catch the small metal clip which holds this in place as it normally pops out - disconnect the cluster now look inside & you will see there are two philips screws at the front side by the windscreen holding the plastic cover in place, unscrew these & then slide the cover slightly forwards & it will remove you can now see the sunroof motor & there should be an alan key held in place on it there is a small plastic cover with an arrow on it, move this clockwise slightly & you will see the hole for said alan key if you rotate clockwise it will put sunroof into tilt & counter clockwise for slide you can then access the sunroof drains for testing
  4. no danger m8. i ended up replacing many more parts than those which were on the original list lol plus you just cant cater for things like the heater matrix pipes collapsing when they fitted the new roose hoses - that was costly even though vince did me a half price on the labour to fit a new matrix! however, on the plus side it meant that apart from attacking the bottom end the majority of the engine related area is now new :D lol oh, if you consider changing your cooling hoses i would recommend using the original VW constant tension clips rather than the jubilee set the hose manf's sell (as long as it doesnt invalidate the warranty on the hoses) FYI check out Post Office for credit card - they have a 0% transfer thingy & also a 3 month 0% on purchases! ;) i know cause i got one 2 weeks ago so as i can put a manifold back longlife stainless system on the VR before its MOT lol
  5. speaking from personal experience i would HIGHLY recommend allowing at least a 50% of total cost buffer when you have your engine work done. as is normal with all older cars when you start to refresh/renew fundamental areas it can cause knock on issues, which were not apparent before starting said work, due to connected areas or parts which are ailing & past their best life i tried to think of as much as possible when i had my head rebuild etc done & yet i was still caught out numerous times fortunately vince at stealth has extreme pride in their work & ensured that in the end everything was as we both wanted - huge credit to his tenacity! have a read of my build thread if you want more info http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=44751&highlight=g0ldf1ng3r
  6. for the few quid it costs it is worth whacking a bottle in a tank of petty however, if you regularly use v power i would imagine that keeps the injectors etc in pretty good condition the 7hp gain fifth gear saw was more likely due to giving the car a good service & putting new plugs etc in it rather than a 'magic' redex ;)
  7. ha ha yes indeed! cant forget their amazingly technical 'trick' lol
  8. yeah that was the one from volks wizard near where i live & where the gf brought her storm i hope they do a bit more than just change the oil / plugs this time & then dyno it!!
  9. i found that the genuine VW discs & pads on the rear were absolutely awful! they used to make me embarrassed to reverse they noise was so awful. my mechanic said it was due to the rear face of the pad being at a 90 degree to the disc & was not factory chamfered. only really way of fixing it would be to remove the pads & grind a chamfer on to it......or do as i did & put up with it & then throw the junk in the bin to be replaced with something made properly plus i found the wear rate shockingly bad too. the discs & pads were put on at the same time & the disc barely lasted as long as the pad
  10. is there a confession you need to make Jim ;) lol
