    VR6 Stalling!

On the right hand side of the tb but it is concealed by a black plastic cover. You have to pull the ht leads out and remove the cover to expose the isv.
  2. There is a method of replacing it without removing the front bumper/ slam panel somewhere on the forum. Try a search for archived posts.

    VR6 Stalling!

    Idle stabiliser valve?
  4. Auxiliary water pump, not sure on price but think it might be around the £80 mark.
  5. Yes, what do you want to know? Resident experts are always available to answer your questions, you could also do a search using the top task bar or start a new topic.
  6. OK I'm in too. One manifold, with logo :D
  7. I want one too and I'll have a look at the timing chains/tensioners whilst it's in pieces. Is the wiring into the ecu easy and where's the best place to mount the vacuum tank? Do I just need a new inlet gasket and throttle body gasket from vw? Does it come with instructions and a guarantee from stealth or schrick?
  8. Yes I want to run the charger and the vgi, mainly to improve driveability a low revs as it has plenty at the top end and maybe get some cams later. I've read somewhere there are some nuts/bolts on the inside of the manifold which need loctiting on so they don't get sucked into the engine. Anyone heard of this?
  9. Anyone interested in changing there chains/tensioners, check out this masterful write up :http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1264409
  10. Is there a noticeable change when the flow changes at 4000rpm, similar to the vtec coming in on a Honda? Will my fueling be any different considering I'm running a supercharger chip- will this be beneficial as it probably runs a bit richer than a stock chip or does it depend on the car as each engine is different?
  11. Will the ecu need re-mapping to prevent pinking or is it only necessary to optomise performance?
  12. Some people say the vgi doesn't fit too well under the corrado bonnet. Is this correct? I'm sure I've seen corrados with schrick manifolds :?
  13. Phat what's wrong with Quaife? Is it the product or the customer relations?
  14. How much are the rear axle bushes from vw? Is it just two bushes at the back?
  15. Yes you can change just the glass. About the same price from vw. Look below the fpr on the end of the fuel rail (right hand side of the inlet manifold) and go down. It's right next to the fan motor. Half-round black black cover, slide it to the right.
  16. Agree. I've been in an itr and it feels pathetic after the vr. Also followed one round the track and it didn't look all that composed, a bit squigy really although you can't really compare a standard vr against a teg-r as the corrado has been compromised by its factory suspension, tuned for ride comfort more than handling. A better comparison is a vr with decent suspension/roll bars against a teg. Probably a more even contest.
  17. Quite like the look of the bk racing 299. If you like bbs style rims look at the voatex and rondell r58 on the wheel mania website.
  18. You can't see the sensors because they're hidden by the black plastic cover which needs sliding off then they will reveal themselves.
  19. Blue K-reg vr6 going towards Handforth nr. Manchester on A34 2-3pm.
  20. Its a secret! It's not actually a catch can but a filter off an air compressor. The thing inside the bottle is a filter which traps dirt in the oil allowing the oil to collect in the bottle. There's a brass screw in the bottom so oil can be drained off. The black top can also be unscrewed and has 1/8" threads on either side (which I've attached a couple of plumbing fittings). It looks like the real thing and works superbly and for the tenth of the price of a normal catch can. You can buy them from machine mart. Mine is a Clarke CMF 1 mini filter (£9.99 +VAT).
