He says he thinks he's got one and wants £30.
-
Ok, I've sent him a message.
-
The chap who runs stokevwspares whom I now quite well has some compressors. I could ask him how much he wants for one?
-
Another suggestion would be to fit an a/c compressor (think it just bolts on to the existing brackets) which would make everything correct. You'd probably need something like 65" at a guess.
-
You might be able to use your bracket with a shorter belt. You just fit it so it spins the alternator the opposite way. You don't really need a double sided belt either. Can the belt be fitted on either side of the tensioner?
-
Yeah I had a z-charger without a/c and the bracket had an extra pulley below the tensioning pulley. The belt I had was 67" (couldn't remember whether it was 67 0r 68 but now I think about it was 67 and it was double sided.
-
I think you need a belt of about 68" (from memory but could be wrong) and an alternator bracket with an extra idler pulley. Have you tried Ns Racing? or Try here: http://www.supercharger.ch/business/reb ... efault.htm

A chap in Stoke (http://www.stokevwspares.co.uk) did my chains. He can do them for a very competitive price: £250 labour to change the chains and clutch or about £250 including parts. He'll probably charge another £150 to do the headgasket so about £700 for everything at a guess which is a pretty good price.

The percentage discount seems to depend on the actual part purchased. I get discounts of between 10% and 17% from my local dealer. For some reason they can give me more discount on some things than others.

UK registered Corrado, rolled at the Nurburgring

That looks like the bend at the top of the foxhole, "Aremburg" which has that nasty bend/crest just before it. One of the worst corners on the circuit. -
Its called a VAG 5000

I'm trying to find some mark 4 Golf rear brake calipers which fit the vr6. Has anybody got any part numbers for calipers which are compatible? Are all mrk 4 calipers the same or will only calipers off specific models fit the Corrado? thanks :)

Stage 2 should have redtop injectors and I think the pulley should be a anodised a different colour than stage 1 (but not always). The race bypass valve in the pic suggests its stage 2. Stage 1 should come with an ordinary Bosch black plastic dv.

Leonard, the electronic bit can be bought here: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku The solenoid is a vw part and the actuator is a Ford part. That would just leave the vacuum tank and flap mechanism to find which Stealth could help you with.

Pic of 12v brackets for v1/2 charger:
-
If you buy a v1 or v2 you can pick up all the bits separately. You can't do this with a V9 as the associated parts are exclusive to VF Engineering. The v1/2 mounting bracket could probably be modified to fit the 24v engine. I've seen some vortech headunits on vwvortex for $1000.
-
I think its something to do with the lack of vacuum (isn't the CL vacuum operated?) Mine did the same until I'd driven the car for a bit then it popped up by itself after a while.
-
I painted mine black. There's a pic in my personal gallery.

I ran a Schrick and charger for a while but found the Scrick did not do enough to justify keeping it. The peak power and torque was vertually identical with the charger on its own and the schrick and charger combo (with the same map) but you did get that nice kick at around 3500 rpm with the schrick. If you get rid of the vgi, you might find that the lightened flywheel compensates for its loss, as the engine revs faster and the charger will be producing a good amount of torque anyway in the mid-range where the vgi did it's best work.
-
Tuners want to charge a lot more than that (about £50-70) which is a rip off! It's only a five minute job for someone who's handy with a soldering iron.
-
Some ecus have sockets but others don't, not sure why. I'd get a socket fitted. I got mine done by a computer guy. Cost about £5.
-
Could well be. The fueling on a Golf would be slightly different due to the smaller engine capacity and smaller intake manifold size etc.
-
Is that with your corrado management chip fitted?

Thanks to bigpants baby too for the cam cover. Extremely well wrapped and fast delivery! -
I'm sure the dealer could supply you one. The part no. is VLC 21-203 Or you could use to flat bits of metal 3mm thick.
