Headlamp Washer Jet Retrofit Kits Bulk Buy. Interest?
8vMatt replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in Suppliers Forum
Just had a look at my spare bumper. You can't see anything on the inside of the plastic due to the bumper iron being in the way. Sorry guys, it needs to be a stripped down one to have a look. -
Headlamp Washer Jet Retrofit Kits Bulk Buy. Interest?

Hi Neil So can you get the two sticky up bits fit to the bumper also included with everything else? Would anyone know how hard this lot would be to install? Hmmm.......tempting. -
Thanks to all you guys for your help. Langers and I got it sorted and adjusted to the middle. Driving now feels confident and I can relax about using it again. Yeah!

Just had a look now. I see what you mean now Chris, the bolt is about a qtr to third the way up the sliding section from the bottom. Would I be right in thinking that the bolt should be higher up to help the front brakes? Maybe two thirds?
-
Thank you sir. I will give it a go. Do you know if it is a fine adjustment or wind it lots please?

Hi guys, Recently I had a new brake pressure regulator fitted. The one that fits under the car just infront of the rear passenger wheel. This is a new unit from the shops and no adjustments were made to the positions of the front/ rear bias. After everything was finished and fitted, I took it for a test drive. On a long straight piece of road I put the anchors on and ooo the back locked up easily. A couple more goes and the same. So I'm thinking I need to somehow move the bias more to the front brakes. I chatted to Chris Langers and after he had read the Bentley manual, said there needed to be a special tool to adjust it. So guys, what do I need to do here please. Any thoughts on this part of the car would be very welcome. Cheers in advance.

No sooner had I read stu37's thread and saw the damage...

Bloody hell, is everyone out to get our cars at the moment? I had a big evasive manoevure to avoid a car pulling out into the side of me tonight, not in my C but the Passat. Impressed my partner with the reactions, so browny points there! We need a group buy for bubble wrap at this rate! Absolute crap standard of driving now by people. -
Oh there's a good Supercharger setup on there for a VR. If only you could see it, I'm sure its up your street :thumbleft:.
-
Nope, must be just you. They're trying to keep you off there, to give others a chance to buy the bargains!!!
-
Bump for the remaining parts. I've edited out the sold bits to make it a bit clearer to go through. Any questions, please let me know. I'll have a look at home for any extra parts to list up.

This is my nice watch my mrs bought for me one Valentines years ago. Love it, quality Seiko watch. http://www.seikoflightchronos.com/seiko-flight-chronograph-watch-seiko-sna411.html This is my work watch, I haven't been able to destroy it yet! Other watches have lasted a matter of weeks but this is great. http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&ai=CJEi6VIEHT87TE4Kb8APfgcUy2riBnwLyj5eZI9rVzsttCAIQASDHmPgFYLsGyAEHqQL7gJOv_OC5PqoEFU_QOM-ZLmSIacPvvqxVOmAxmyjimoAFkE66BRMI9ZqhqcS8rQIViax8Ch3xOvM1wAUF&sig=AOD64_2efdaZ3KvFiiqZQwgjr5Ld4rlk1w&ctype=5&ved=0CAUQ9A4&adurl=http://rover.ebay.co.uk/rover/5/0/2%3Fmpre%3Dhttp%3a%2f%2frover.ebay.com%2frover%2f1%2f710-134428-41853-0%2f2%3fipn%3dpsmain%26icep_vectorid%3d563391%26mtid%3d1673%26kwid%3d1%26icep_item_id%3d220787184293%26itemid%3d220787184293%26icep_meta_categ_id%3d281%26icep_etrs%3dN%26icep_epid%3d-999%26icep_ctlg%3d-999%26icep_cond%3dNew%26rpc%3d0.60%26rpc_upld_id%3d-999%26targetid%3D29418040026%26crlp%3D9356669586_563391%26adtype%3Dpla

Yep Chris (RW1) has a couple of mine to compare. This sounds like a bit of an odd problem to do with lighting I've not heard about before. You sound like you've got as many switches as me!
-
Hey cheers Rob. I'm always learning, its good fun.
-
Just stick to the Chinese ones then!!!:thumbleft:

Haha quality post! Never too late to learn new tricks. I think I'm very far away from being good enough to do this commercially. Never say never hey. Would be better than me working on building sites chippying by the time I get to retirement!

Thank you so much for the advice Dude, I've got a lot of research and learning to do! Cheers for the link. I had a bit of a go at one of the other scuttle trims. Cut the excess off with the Dremel and sanded down. Through the grits and cutting paste. Finished with a bit of wax to help protect the shine.

Cheers Chris, give you the fiver later mate! haha. Well I had a bit of a rushed effort at the number plate plinth, it has a load of imperfections but has played a part in learning to do this better next time. ---------- Post added at 09:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:55 PM ---------- Here you go buddy- http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/Carbon-Fibre-Skinning-Starter-Kit---Large__CMCFSK1000.aspx

Cheers for all the positive feedback, TBH I didn't know what the reaction was going to be like. Sometimes you get people who slate things just because its not 100% perfect. I should know this is the best forum around and the users are great here. DudeVR6- No bag and vac going on here. No idea about how to do that yet. This was a case of laying the weave over a wet resin part and smooth down. You're right about the extra time to finish it. I've got a couple of ideas on making life easier for the finishing side of things. I should get these parts done now I've got a little more spare time now. I fancy a couple grab handle inserts done. ---------- Post added at 07:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:56 PM ---------- I'm not sure about inspiring anyone, I'm kind of flying by the seat of my pants on this while I learn. Anyone interested in trying it out, have a look at the stuff available at Carbonmods.co.uk

OEM discs will weigh a tonne for this. I've got the 4 pots from the rear of the Cayenne on mine. They sit on 323mm Leon Cupra R discs. They're good.
-
Glad you're pleased buddy. Spread the word out there then! I'll sort you out a commission for each switch posted to a German address!!! I always drool when I read your sig list of parts fitted!
-
Oops forgot to call so far. Will do my best to call tomorrow (ok, later today!). Cheers Neil for this mate.
-
Nice. Cheers for the link. Hmm, wonder if they want to sell any headlight switches in Germany? I need to get organised and sort out selling them in Germany.
-
Er, I would say you could get 3 lots of full scuttle trims out a 1m x 1m cloth, prob could get a couple small bits out of the remaining. The kit cost £90 but if someone wanted to do this stuff properly then you could buy in bulk for a fraction of the price. ---------- Post added at 12:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 AM ---------- Cheers bud, notice the few lines not dead straight, you would expect a pro to have all straight lines in the weave. But like you say, practice! I've also wrapped a number plate plinth I bought cheap. Haha, needs loads of rubbing down as I loaded up the resin too much. Sod it, I'll photo the work in progress now. ---------- Post added at 12:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:07 AM ---------- Here's the other bits wrapped. The centre scuttle trim. Excess cut back and ready to be polished. Polishing takes ages going through the grits of wet n dry, then cutting paste and final polish. This is the other small scuttle section, just wrapped and with resin. The Dremel comes into its own when you trim off the excess. The resin is super hard once gone off. Now the number plate plinth, I'm quite pleased with how it went over a larger area. Needs a damn good rub down. I'll get these bits finished and have enough weave to do some more bits and bobs. Hmmm, what to do? I know its not everyones cup of tea but its fun to learn new skills and at least I'm not having to pay someone else for the bits to be done :thumbleft:

Hey guys, Thought I would share my exploits about learning to work with sheets of carbon. Not the stick on crap but full on resin and carbon cloth. Bought myself a pair of uber sharp scissors to work with the cloth. And bought a kit with the resins and cloth. A 1m x 1m square can wrap a few parts so I've started playing with the scuttle trims. Wrapped all 3 I had spare, not rubbed them all down to a finish yet but here's one thats done. I'm not going to say I'm anywhere near a pro standard like Spoonfed dude , love your stuff and trying to resist buying. Might give in soon! Its an interesting subject and there's loads for me to learn about it. Wrapping parts is only one small area.

Here's the pics of them today, just need a little clean from being stored. I needed the window switches for my new set but can supply the grab handles to go with these. As you can see, very good condition and no wear on them.
