  1. mmmmmmmm :luvlove: Thats going to be smart mate. I've got a heater control setup but looking at it compared to mine, I'm thinking it could be from a LHD car. As in the turn knobs are the opposite way round. Would this still be of any use to anyone? Could parts from it be useful to anyone to come up with a fix? Hope it can help.
  2. I still haven't got round to changing over my poor pads  I have some TRW poop that were cheap but used hard they fade like a scary thing :pale: When the spring time comes and I actually use the car again, I'm going to put some OE Brembo pads on that came with the calipers and use them up before looking at the really good stuff. Due to my mileage that could take some time!!! Kev recommended the Pagids to me months ago and seeing the love for them, reckon they could be worth it. I think the Boxster rears would be one of the smaller calipers that Porsche do, you may have a point there Kev. Compared to the Cayenne rears, there's a big size diff  Basically when changing the brakes, go for the biggest discs your budget allows I take it? Your 330mm's must be about the size limit Kev? Mine are only 7mm smaller :camp:
  3. If they're thinking of the A5, then maybe a shortened version like the Quattro concept could happen as they like to cross use components to save money.
  4. Errrrrrrr..........salt and sh1te I think has landed on your car, thats why its so dirty   :)
  5. That's crazy! I'd happily wait a year for something special, like a nice hand crafted Aerial Atom V8, or a bespoke Caterham etc etc, but not for some ugly mass produced euro box! I take it Kev you're not keen
  6. From the lack of 17" tyres available, are most people reverting back to 15's? Or are they around and just not easily found? For the amount of miles I do, I can see me not using the C for the next 3 months or so! Just a pity its out on the road in this weather.
  7. Great work there Alex, I'm sure its appreciated by everyone :notworthy:
  8. I reckon the VR rebuild would be the way to go on this Storm. My reasoning is it keeps things standard and you know exactly how good your engine is. If you bought a 4motion or R32 engine even with low mileage, then I would always wonder about the condition of it and think about whether it had been thrashed around. Plus £2,800 quoted could be cheaper than paying for a transplant, unless you're looking to change it yourself :notworthy: . Then at a later date if you wanted more power, the super or turbo charger could come out to play! I've got a feeling that whatever you decide on, its going to be a great car  Having said all that, I'd want Kip's R32 in a heartbeat  :luvlove:
  9. I slid my mk2 gti on black ice straight into a lamp post in Dec 08, 20 mins later a girl slid down the same bit of road. She managed to turn slightly at the last moment but unfortunately for me, directly at me! As I was stood on ice, I can't run anywhere and could only jump in the air to be collected on the bonnet :pale: My shoulder cracked the windscreen and she found some road to brake hard and stop. This sent me flying off the bonnet and I skidded down the road on my arse :help: She started to freak out and was screaming a lot! After dusting myself down I laughed afterwards that I even opened her door and asked if she was alright!!! :cuckoo: No damage to me but just a few bumps and bruises.
  10. You mean that £122 is after your discount? :pale: Not a good start for value for money :cuckoo: Excellent thread idea. Is there a thread anywhere that has no chat in it, just an ever expanding list of parts and part numbers to refer to?
  11. I'm getting the feeling I need to buy this sooner rather than later then!!! :D
  12. There you go mate, all paid for now :) Details given on the paypal invoice. Thanks so much for doing this mate for us :notworthy: .
  13. Yep,the spacer was to clear the cap. It was just put down here to show how close the TT's are to the arch. I got the 4mm from the link kindly put in one the above posts. I reckon they should fit fine. I just don't know anything about Pro Race wheels or Team Dynamics really. Do people rate them? I know they're light, any other good points?
  14. Thanks guys, very helpful as ever. These are the Pro Race 1's, not the 1.2 I've tried a 6mm spacer on my TT Comps and the rear drivers side had a slight rub. I think they would clear at 3-4mm, exactly what the checker said these wheels would sit further out than the TT's. I could go with 195's maybe as I'm thinking about winter tyres. All UK stock could be gone by the time I get around to buying though! What sort of value would these fetch secondhand then? I might be able to get them for £200-250, bear in mind one has a bit of spoke damage. Nothing wrong on the rest.
  15. This is just getting upsetting now! Its hurts to see these pics. The standard is maintained- bloody awesome mate :luvlove:
  16. Very useful, thanks for that. Says the wheels would be an extra 4mm further out to what I have at the moment. Could be getting tight at the back then by about 1mm :gag:
  17. Hi guys I might have the chance to buy a set of these wheels finished in white. They are 7x17 in 5x100 with the 57.1mm spigot for VW and ET25. I'm wondering if they would be a little poky or could they be alright due to being on the skinny side? They are about 6 months old, no problems apart from a spoke has been damaged on one wheel from hitting a rock garden! Seem to me to be good money as well. Are these good wheels people? Any thoughts are very welcome :)
  18. If possible, I'd try to be there and see what gets repaired or at least insist on photos by them at each stage of the work. Sorry to hear you're having troubles with them. :brickwall:
  19. The race is on for the first review guys
  20. Wonder why you say you've been pulled over so many times? :cuckoo:
  21. As you're looking at the front wings, would it be worth not doing such a lip on the edge of the arch? Lots of people want to roll/ cut back the return on the arch for wheel clearance. Just a thought.
  22. There's no boobies but I'll still have one please :D
  23. What sort of other mods have you done in prep for all this tasty new power? I've done the front brakes, next the back and new lines all round to come. Then its everything to do with the suspension side of things inc bushes etc. I just want to cover as many bases as poss before looking at some bigger engine fun power :norty:
  24. Ooo, think this is a going to be a good thread. I'll keep an eye on this for future ref   Best of luck with it all mate and keep us updated with progress.
  25. Yep agree, TPS are the ones to go and see. There's one at Marsh Barton Exeter Darren. Service items are very good value.
