Nobody has asked if you need a front numberplate in Sweden? If not, go for it Whompa, will look great without the numberplate. Don't worry about the usual moaner's:-)
  2. Why a Corrado? Its something you don't see on the road very often, even a little exotic  Doesn't compare too badly to other rare cars (maybe pushing things a bit now :norty: )
  3. On your very first post to this build thread, click on the edit button and you can change what the title of the whole thread is called. I do it when there is something new or different happening with it. I just think it gives people the chance to see what the thread is concentrating on at that moment.
  4. You should edit your title to say about all the work you're doing as loads of people would be very interested in what you've been doing to the car
  5. Thats very impressive colours in the paint there, be good to see pics when its all finished in the daylight. Looks dark with some tones of purple, well it does on my old phone. Nice one bud.
  6. I've got 17's with a 40mm drop and there is still a gap from the tyre to arch so don't worry about scraping the road, its not going to happen. As long as you keep the rolling radius of the new wheels/ tyres the same as the old ones, there won't be an issue with the speedo being out. Most run with 205/40/17's and that will give you virtually the same rolling radius as 205/50/15's. As for tyres rubbing on the arches, depends on the ET of the wheels you put on, mine are ET38 and have no rubbing ever. HTH
  7. Looks superb there mate. Seeing the leather for real, it looks better than the pics can show them. I reckon you're going to be enjoying the Porsche seats!
  8. Looks spanking good there mate, you must be very proud of it. Do you have any details of your all in one scuttle panel? Looks like a neat mod. I'm guessing it could either be from a mk2 Golf or an Ibiza maybe?
  9. Any ideas where this Driveshaft Spline Bit canbe bought? And thanks to all for help thats been posted.
  10. How do you like these apples!? :D http://wiki.the-corrado.net/category_engine_bay.html Wow :notworthy: Very tasty there sir. Thanks for getting the link. Oh, not too involved a job then :pale: Holy crap man :pukeright:
  11. This is good timing for me, I'm going to be looking at taking my engine out soon to change the head and do the timing chains. Have you thought about doing the timing chains on yours? Go on, it would be very handy for me to have a photographic sequence to follow :norty: Best of luck with everything you're doing and I'll keep checking your website for updates :salute:
  12. Really pleased that today is a lot more positive for you than yesterday. Go for it mate and make the old girl even better than before :notworthy:
  13. Washing the car yesterday, had a neighbour say he had been loving the C since he moved in. Told me I was doing a great job and must be very dedicated to it! Made me grin lots after he went away. A chuftie from my mrs who doesn't go in the car very often, told me how she loves the roar when I give it some! She says how the Saxo boys would love their cars to sound like our VR's!
  14. Awesome vid :norty: Poor G60 gets it again
  15. Another day at it mate and we'll be there I reckon :) The leather is coming up so well, I'm really pleased for you. Its going to be an awesome interior once its back into the car. With the incredible work being done by the spray shop, Rob you're going to have an amazing car after all this is completed :notworthy: I won't want to park next to you now, going to put my mine to shame :gag:
  16. Hi Gary, Not seen you or the car for ages. Its looking very smart and moody! Sorry to hear you're having a few little troubles, thankfully nothing major. Any plans in mind for it?
  17. I got v lucky on ebay and picked it up for a tenner. I believe its £28 ish + vat from VW.
  18. Be on the safe side and change it. When I did mine, the inside edge of the housing had crumbled away to allow the rubber to squeeze inside and cause a slight water leak which would've taken ages to find as it was so small. Gen parts all the way guys. Ignore the fogs, I bought this lot when I came to work on the coolant system. Found it to be a good time to fit the mk4 Golf header tank.
  19. Cheers guys. Anyone have any approx prices and part no's would be great. Are we talking about a split boot so there's no grease on the joint? Or a knackered joint itself?
  20. Hey guys Since I've had my VR I've noticed if I do a slow 3 point turn for example, the steering gives a slight clunk feeling back through the steering wheel. Once you are driving around there is nothing and it drives brilliantly. The previous owner had Bilstein and Boge springs and shocks fitted (been told of a 40mm drop), not sure if/ when any bushes and mounts have been changed. I have been thinking of getting new VR or R32 bushes etc for the suspension setup. Would you think that could solve my clunking noise or should I be looking at something else? Many thanks for any advise guys, Matt.
  21. You must have a stockpile of all the good stuff Chris. Hmmm........not a certain carbon bonnet? Nah you wouldn't like one of those Nath! Haha.
  22. Very bad times for you mate. Hope you can get the insurance sorted quickly. Did you have any agreed value with them? Mine's up for renewel and hearing things like this makes me want to get an agreed valuation policy done. Best of luck with the search, is there anything that canbe saved from the car? Or a total loss?
  23. Mmmmm.........Would love an Edition 30. Much much cheaper than an R but to me not much less of a car  Get 2 of these for a Golf R- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-VOLKSWAGEN-G ... 45f1c13c05
  24. I thought the full allocation of both the Golf and Scirocco R had been sold completely already? Wow at that price, I might look at one in 10 or 15 years time
