  1. Cheers for the positive feedback guys. As soon as my mrs saw the car she said I should get some new plates. Think thats a good idea there Dubstar. I wanted to get the number plate surround painted but completely forgot until after I picked it up, D'oh! One for the future. I'll try to take some better pics in the sun as well.
  2. Picked up the car from the bodyshop today, very pleased with what they did for me. Very professional service and friendly guys clearly into their cars and caring about what they do. PPI ( Paintwork Plastics Interiors) Unit 16B Milber Trading Estate Newton Abbot Devon 01626 362492 Nice and shiny after their work (pics taken after the sun goes in and look rubbish)- While the car was in for repair, I paid for the guys to sort out a bit of rust (the only bit on the car) under the window rubber and delete the rear wiper at the same time- I know I have to get rid of that rank window tint with its millions of bubbles :gag: Be next on the list of bits to do. Also got them to paint my door handles as thats something that I like and makes it look a little more modern-
  3. Hey dude, these wheels look sh*t hot mate :luvlove: Oof thats a bit tight on the old caliper, reckon you need to be looking at 2-3mm clearance in the least to allow for bumps/ knocks from the road and general flex and G- force pressures from driving. Be a bit nasty to hit a pothole and feel a clunk clunk clunk from the caliper mashing the backs of the spokes :gag: From your pics showing the front and rear wheels, now you've said that the fronts are 11mm wider than the rears, you can notice it. Is there anyway to lift to back to allow for some spacers but not be too high for you? Would you consider going back to standard brakes to run with these wheels with no spacers? Keep up the good work mate
  4. Lamin-X film will sort you out buddy.
  5. Not sure m8 - I was thinking of 215 but think they will be a bit "narrow" for a 9" rim ?..... I've got standard arches and had 8x17 alloys with 215's on the back. They rubbed on the edge and sidewall. They had an ET35. Hope this helps.
  6. Nasty there mate, must of been bad to be driving when that happened. Did it damage the roof at the top of the windscreen? Enjoy your build thread but lets get your new wheels on instead of the Venom's  Haha!
  7. Wow, 225's would rub wouldn't they? If not, then thats a good amount of rubber to get down on the road
  8. Just a thought, what petrol do you use? As these engines are designed to run on super. Before I knew this, I used regular and it ran rubbish. Stalling, bad idle, jolting etc. As soon as I changed to using just super unleaded, its ran like a dream, none of the above stuff happened any more. Maybe...
  9. Looks great there mate, you have to be pleased with that.
  10. I'm good thanks dude. I've not done the R32 sump as mine isn't anywhere near low enough to need it. C488ADO has it fitted and I believe you need to change the oil pump also, worth doing though mate, looking forward to your pics.
  11. Ahh I see kebab's are the business to be in! Wow awesome car. Could you do a thread with an in depth review of the car and lots of pics, love it. If you had to work hard to get it, fair play and well deserved. If it was a lottery win, bugger why didn't my numbers come up! Haha, great one mate.
  12. Haha, don't get me wrong man id probably buy a 50mm and lower it more, if it weren't for the damn sump!! How you doing mate? If you went for the R32 sump, you wouldn't have to worry about how low you go :norty: The car is looking awesome BTW.

    TT seats in a rado

Has anyone else had the thought of using the Audi S3 Recaro's? I can't seem to find anything about others fitting them. The previous owner of my car installed them and they're great. Very comfy and they lower enough to be like a Corrado seat. They are heated and have an extra electric adjustment to others, a back lumber support. Can't believe mine is the only one with these seats. Go for it guys, well recommend them.
  15. You'll want a VR even more once you hear a few of them go past you :norty:
  16. One's that I know of in Devon, got to be a few more than this though- You Gaz- Black 2.0 16v Me- Mystic Blue VR Rob- Burgandy VR Nath- Blackberry VR Chris- Moonlight VR Simon- Black VR Rich- G60 Steve- VR Torquay- 3 1.8 16v's If anyone knows of more then please copy and paste the list with the additions.
  17. Hi and welcome mate, Looks like you know how to get stuck into doing some serious engine work. What sort of power figures would you expect to see from this? Do you know of many other Corrrado's in Lithuania? Mmmmmmmm...................that spoiler :luvlove: Looking forward to seeing more of your work :salute:
  18. In for the repairs today, told it should be there for a week or so depending on getting bits and how busy they are. Can't wait to see it looking all good again
  19. Been drinking last night? :cuckoo:
  20. Try to give as much info as poss for people who know about these things (not me!), so they can narrow down potential problems. Best of luck with it.
  21. Sorry to hear about your dink mate, the car looks lovely from RTTS. Could be hard to do the dent along a crease line but defo worth trying to get the dent removal people to have a look. Best of luck with it and I know your pain, I always notice new knocks and scrapes on mine :gag:
  22. A bit too close to a TT Comp for my liking, think you should get rid mate! Haha.
  23. Quick update on the repair guys. The Council's insurance has accepted the bodyshop repair price today. Should go in for repair on mon. It doesn't sound very hopeful to get a decent hire car. The guy didn't know what a Corrado was and was very suprised to hear it was a 2.9 V6 sports coupe. The first hire car offered was a Vectra! Oh dear this might be hard work to get something good. Oh well, at least the important bit of getting the car done is moving along nicely.
  24. Good to be able to pop in and say hello mate, to see how shiny and fresh your C is looking mate is just stupid  Looks gorgeous and yes mine does seriously let the side down :gag: Glad you like the new braking, very pleased how things went. surprised how little hassles or messing about there was with fitting. Stripped the old well worn brakes off.The flexis that came with the calipers screwed straight on in position. The new carriers needed only the smallest grind off in the back to clear the hub and they were bolted on after the bolts had about 2-3mm cut off the length to clear the disc. Next the discs were a straight swop over. Using the Porsche caliper bolts I bought, the calipers fixed into place nicely and perfectly in line with the discs. The beauty of the design of these calipers means the pads are fitted/ changed so easily by a sliding pin and bracket. Sorry for no pics today as I was covered in brake dust and oily crud I didn't want to get the camera wrecked. The pedal felt so much harder to the touch once they were bled, I've only done 25-30 miles on them and still waiting for them to bed in. I stopped at Rob's house and was a little shocked to see what looked like smoke coming out from the wheels  Then realised it was the paint that had heated up from inside the vented section of the disc! Next stop, no smoking, ahh thats better! Can't wait to see the pads bedding in properly and feeling what good brakes are all about :norty: Cheers bud, I'm sure things will come together good for me.
  25. Wow, you know how to cheer a bloke up! Well whatever the insurance decide on, I'll keep the car and get it repaired to its great former condition. Ooo, might get a chance to fit my new brakes tomorrow. Should be interesting as I'll be doing the work myself and my mechanic brother watching over me!
