Anyone made their own switchblade key with an OE immobiliser
Tattie replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
Any more info available about reprogramming a switchblade key to operate Clifford alarms?? There are a few of us on here with a Clifford who might be extremely interested in a switchblade key if it is possible. -
Always gets me, who in their right mind would actually do that sort of thing? And I wasn't on about going to the gym!! They need a serious re-education
-
I've still got mine from my very first C back in '91. They are a bog standard first aid kit in a black plastic box i.e. no bloody plasters!!. If it doesn't have to be original buy any one but I'm sure VAG will supply one at a price. Also if you want an original - bear in mind its age. They are supposed to be refurbished every year or so as certain items are lifed.

Hi folks, installed my new stereo bits, Alpine 9813 (4 x 60 watt max output) + boot changer, Boston FS50 components in the front and JBL GTO 6"x 4" in the rear. Sounds nice but not enough bass I was wondering what everyone recommends. I don't want to loose too much boot space and I don't need the noisiest mo'fo either! I know of the infinity bass link and of course seperate amp/sub/box combos. cheers

you guys haven't seen the drivers wing and front bumper!! Plus the car parking dents in the doors. Incidently how can people be so f**king clumsy or not give a s**t as they open the doors? I have a wing curtesy od Struan (Big tartenG60) in the correct colour but it still needs a bit of touching up - hence waiting for the respray.

Other possibility is a dodgy earth on the indicator circuit somewhere. It caused my indicators to come on and stay on except when I hit the brakes when they flashed! As yours is all of the indicators at the same time, check out the alarm earth and the hazard earth for corrosion etc.
-
Ahh, will check that out, thought they had changed the style for every manufacturer. Bonus

Looked through the Bentley manual there are three control wires on the early types. You can see two of them from passenger footwell, the other from drivers footwell. It is the one on the drivers side which is playing up by sticking or not sync-ing correctly

Got my C in September of last year. Work done so far: new cam belt, stage 4 charger refurb, new front engine mount (volkspeed/volksport one), supersprint exhaust including decat pipe and K&N panel filter. New Radio aerial as the other was totally shot. (Bosch one as it was a direct replacement), new stereo system (Alpine 9813 + changer with Boston components in the front and JBL 6x4s in the rear - really needs a small sub though!), Clifford Concept 300. Other minor bits done, fitted FK rear light and clear side repeaters, changed door cards and trim parts for better ones, new tyres. Things to do. New suspension kit, respray, new wheels (15s again for ride quality), oil cooler, maybe intercooler, remove the boost return pipe to charger.

Yeah, noticed that with mine. Original white indicator bulbs have pins 180 degrees apart, the new orange style are not. You can fit the orange ones into the VAG holders without filing anything off. Just use a LITTLE bit of pressure while fitting. As long as one pin contacts the circuit is made.

Talking to Darren from G-Werks last night at No Rice, he said you should remove the original water/oil cooler first, and get some original vag water pipes (you need 2 approx 8 quid each) to replace/bypass it. Then fit the new sandwich plate and filter otherwise the whole collection of original water/oil cooler, new oil cooler and filter can catch on one of the subframes or cross members. If in doubt have a chat with him. He can sell a whole kit for others that are interested that includes brackets to mount next to rad, pipes etc

OOPS, sorry G-Man and G-master. Cheers for the info beavis. The x-flo you had in the garage loked pretty cool. Might have to invest in one - eventually!
-
Hi folks, this is aimed mainly at Darren 'G-Master' to answer but for everyone else's thoughts. Daz, you said they could be fitted when we chatted tonight but you didn't mention a final cost or what sort of power output you get from them. I know they are only in the development stage at the mo but all good gen for the rest of the G60 users out there. If it goes bang there is another option apart from trying to find a decent G Lader. Cheers
-
So when does the real thing go live??
-
Hey Daz, with ref to fitting the mini superchargers you didn't mention 'final' prices for fitting or how much power it develops. I'm sure a lot of guys out there would be interested to know that there is an alternative to the old G lader. Thanks for the trim bits, good gen and a good old chinwag. Cheers mate

Saw a metallic blue slammed C with a 'frenched' style rear bumper . Reg No something beginning G8 .... On the Weyhill road in Andover. I was coming out the turn for the VW garage

I've got one fitted to mine full system including de-cat pipe. Its great, very little noise inside excpet when you seriously give it some. Looks the same as the pic.

g-master, not been lowered.......yet (well as far as I can see anyway) - still looks like a 4x4. Done a lot of the little things so far. Alarm, new stereo, supercharger refurb, cam belt, new front tyres, FK M3 style lights, clear indicators, uprated wiring loom and just putting better door cards in. Spent f loads already. After I've moved it house will be time for a complete respray (loads of little bits need touching up plus a front bumper repair) and some Wolfrace Octane wheels.

Hi folks, just tried to fix one of my niggling little faults. Basically the slider for the 'air direction' is playing up and I cannot get it directed through the facia vents i.e. 'face' postion. By removing passenger side shelf you can get at the relevant cogs and cables - only 2 on the slider types - 1 for temp and 1 for direction. I managed to set up the cogs / cables to the correct position but they still keep jumping. Tried moving bowden cables about, cogs in different locations but no joy. Just too much flex in the 'base plate' in which the cogs fit - either that or the cogs are past their best. Any hints or tips? or does It look like I'm going to have to replace the whole shabang? so the next question is, Is the corrado a one off or do the MK 2 golf cogs fit?

G-Master, that was me that Thursday. Just on my way home from work. Yeah live in Andover, well for the next few weeks anyway. Been visiting my folks in Hinckley, saw a Met Green C probably a VR as it had 5 spokes, anybody here?

I've got Nero version 5.5.9.14 installed (OEM version) but I've also got 5.572 disk. As for the actaul recording of music CDs do you use media player to record them then Nero to burn them. If so can you alter the MP3 compression ratio with Nero or do you have to do it all in media player. i.e. I've used media player to record the music at best quality and then used it to burn at a lower compression ratio, WMA only though.
