I haven't fitted one ever but I don't see why it shouldn't be possible. This is what I use for reference. Just need a positive output from the alarm.
-
What alarm is it?
-
When you lock with the alarm, it sends 12volts up the lock line to the pump which then sucks down the locks. WHen you unlock with the alarm, it sends 12v up the unlock line to the pump and this blows the system up to unlock the car. If you have a leak in the system anywhere, the pump would run continuously trying to lock or unlock the doors. You would soon know this was the case because the CL would fail when the pump burnt out. I agree that pushing the button down inside the car should lock the doors. My best guess for this not being the case is disconnected door handles. I can't remember if there is a switch in the actuator or of the only switches are in the handles. Either way I would have a look to see if the handles are connected first, by removing each in turn. Rodders is correct about the engines. Gavin

There is a big white adjuster on the top of each headlight, that moves the beam up and down. The drivers side one is hidden by a plastic cover, the passenger one can be done without any tools. Gavin
-
Park up against a wall at night, level ground, the horizontal part of the beam shouldn't be above the middle of the light(ish). Gavin

Try bump starting the car NOT jump starting. If it bumps then it could be that the switch isn't allowing power to the vital services during cranking. Gavin
-
Bobby, it's the switch on the Throttle body not the ISV. Gavin

Isn't there 3 screws holding the ABS ring on? Gavin

The engines don't care about the lead content. Valve seats in VW motors have been hardened for eons. The Octane rating is important though, 4 star used to be 98 RON, so 95 would normally mean detuning, backing off the timing, to prevent pinking. This would also lose you a bit of performance. Using 97 will provide most of the performance you would get from 4 star. To get max performance from ordinary unleaded would require a piggy back ECU to modify the timing. Gavin

I get them out with a through shaft phillips and a big hammer. The screwdriver has flats for a spanner on it, very rare it won't shift them... Gavin

Cheap as chips. I have kicked myself a couple of times buying stuff at Mothercare, then looking on kiddicare. Free postage too IIRC. Gavin

Can't help with the Passat/MK3 dilema but you can save money here........... http://www.kiddicare.com/ Gavin

New seal time if you are not sure. Not worth fitting the head to find it split. GSF sell them in singles I think. I don't think a hammer is the best tool for the job TBH. They should go on ok with the socket, an extension and a good shove. Gavin

Spawny get. Only 3 weeks til I get to Adelaide. Bad news is, I have to come back to the land of never ending rain. Best of luck Gavin -
Awesome don't do them any way AFAIK. The fella that does them at Dub SPrt is called Wayne Schofield. He did mine and Hennys cars in the past. I got the same power as you did with a stage 4 charger, red injectors, de-cat stainless exhaust etc. And that was after the custom map. You need to get a wideband run done, to see what the mixture is doing. Based on that you can see if the mixture needs any attention. Have a search for chip wizard. Gavin

Thats normal. It is in fact the cam cover gasket you are talking about. The cut out is from line boring the cam carriers I think. Gavin

The father in law and I did one on the drive, not that bad a job. Didn't need a press but did need my angle grinder to get the inner race off the drive flange. Gavin

Rallye DP has a twist in it to clear the output for the propshaft. Gavin

Don't intend to spend any money on it though......

Oh yeah I am minted now the syncro has gone...... Gavin

Come and buy my house, it's got parking for 4 on the front and another 2 down the back and one in the garage. I am back up to 3 cars again after taking delvery of a D plate 54k 1.3 polo. Incidently it has better lights than the Corrado, which has a cheapy ebay headlight loom on it. Gavin

And Henny gets through more head gaskets than anyone I know!!! Gavin

Stan, were those shots taken on a special day when it ran OK? EDIT is that the one that had the gremlins?

I got my Black syncro home, with the aid of my Black GL. Well to be truthful, I got it halfway home before the RAC became involved. What about using a towing dolly? Gavin
