Gettin caught with the wrong tax disc in the car is worse than no tax at all. My advice is take your plates AND tax disc  There not likely to check the VIN

It's the sudden on/off drive from the engine that they don't like. Probably having no limiter is safer as you couldn't rev one too hard anyway. Unless the megasquirt has a soft cut facility, which is much gentler in operation. Gavin
-
No trouble, let us know how you get on. Gavin

The wiring that runs the loom is on the other side of the car in this case. The cars own fuses haven't been the problem, so the wiring must be OK. Gavin
-
OK, they are better on an NA motor assuming that you know it runs weak at the top end and when accelerating. Pay the extra for super unleaded would probably produce the same increase in performance. Gavin
-
Can you describe the loom? Does it have 2 fuses, who did you get the car from? Try swapping the 2 relays in the loom around and let me know what happens. Gavin

Not much use on a G60 as you need to have a fixed pressure (I know the pressure changes due to the vac hose, but that is a known quantity) to compliment the chip. Altering the fuel pressure will affect the mixture, unless the ECU were to be re-mapped to suit. Gavin

Tracks days gotta love 'em. Know your limits and try to stay near them...... Still waiting on the video to load but if there was coolant on the track surely the marshalls should have been out with the flags, toute de suite...?? At least the metal can be replaced. I remember the dyno run too. Who is this 'rice boy'? :D Gavin

My mate in Wesham has had some work done out there. He really rates the place and argued the toss with his insurance company for them, over the 'approved repairer'. Can't remember the name but I'll text him now for the name. Gavin

Arrrrrrrghhhh - Alternator Buzzzzzzzzzz from Amp???
h100vw replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Should earth the head unit and amp at the same point. A nause but prevents a lot of earth loop action. Or at least join the 2 points with a piece of wire. Gavin -
30 over the limit is the rule. Want to guess how I know that??? Gavin

Dude, by a G60 engine and replace the lot. Gonna cost well under £500. With the amount of chargers that blow, there are loads out there. They are no good except for turboing so they are cheap. Gavin

Tracking and camber will need checking if not adjusting. Anytime you mess with the front suspension you should get it done. Gavin

Ignition barrel problem? UPDATE - got a new switch - :help:
h100vw replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in Engine Bay
Not the barrel dude but the switch itself. You can pull the plug off the one that's fitted and stick the new switch on the cable. A flat blade screwdriver will start the car but DONT DRIVE OFF WITHOUT PUTTING THE KEY IN THE LOCK OR YOU HIT SOMETHING FOR SURE! Gavin -
I found the cause of this problem on my MK3 by sticking a bigger fuse in. The puff of smoke under the bonnet gave away the location of the short. On mine it was blowing the fuse for the wipers as the short was down to 3 wires, the power to the wipers and earth and the feed to the right indicator. Gavin

The cable could be damaged or more likely routed badly with a tight turn somewhere. GAvin

I would try 10A to start with and see what happens. Gavin
-
Is it a 16V, if the cam belt is too tight they have strange 'zing' to them. Gavin

I could be going next week to vaildate the visa. Wish I was going to stay though! Gavin
