In any of Supersprints systems, you can afford to lose ONE box. I had a system on my MK1 with only a back box, I used to do nearly 20K a year in it no problems. On my MK3 16V I had just the 2 rear most boxes and the sound is subtle. You just have a piece of plain pipe from the Cat into the silencer in front of the axle. I doubt you would see any power increase, by having the link pipe over the silencer. You would have 100 quid to spend on petrol instead. BTW what engine do you have? Gavin

We had a Corrado when the first nipper turned up. No problems fitting a seat in the C. They make nasty dents in your leather, so I'd release the belt when its not in use or take it out altogether. The lad I sold mine to had 2 kids and his wife ran everywhere in it. That Recaro is a smart looking seat, can't see a 12 year old consenting to riding in one though. Have a look on http://www.kiddicare.com http://www.kiddicare.com/icat/carseats They had a bogof on the last seat we bought. Which would have been great except I had got the same seat from Mothercare at full money  Gavin

No, it's not factory. What's the problem with the immobiliser? You should be able to disable it with the transmitter with the ign switched on? Or using the touch key. Gavin

I reckon, no luck with employment?

Run an earth from where the head one meets the body, direct to the battery. Enjoying all your free time Steve??

which can be sorted with a large jubilee clip... Wink Or removal completely

If the light is new can you not take it back? Fit for purpose etc. Is there an arrow on the glass pointing to the passenger side of the car. Check both lights. It could be a LHD headlight?? That part number isn't a VAG one. It should start with 53X XXX XXX Gavin

Jabbasport do a similar thing to increase the belt tension. You cut off the top eyelet and beat on their 'cap'. As well as increasing tension on the belt, it also speeds up the wear of your bearings by jacking up the side load. I have seen some others that don't change the free length of the tensioner, they just increase the tension of the spring. They have a spacer under the bottom spring plate. Think lowering spring caps in reverse. A better solution IMO. Gavin

it has a blue anodised bit on the top? Thats not std Neil. Std ones are all black steel. Gavin

Same casting I think but G60 has sodium filled valves. Although I have heard that on BV heads they just fit one piece stainless ones anyway. The Compression is in the pistons not the head. Gavin

The knock sesnors could be done too tight. 15lbs ft is the correct torque. If they are too tight then they will be over sensitive. You really need to check the timing both the physical timing of the crank and camshafts and also the ign timing. The crank could be out if the pulley bolt is bad. The crank pulley can spin slightly and the ign timing and physical timing will be out. A mate of mine had this happen. The car went great on really small throttle openings but pinked its gead off if you tried to floor it. We found the crank pulley had spun. The quick way is with a long screwdriver dropped into number 1 plug hole and check that the notch on the crank pulley, lines up with the arrow on the cover. Rock the car in gear and make sure teh screwdriver goes up and down as the engine goes over Top Dead Centre. Gavin

I am just well read and somewhat older than yourself. I have had another 17 years to experience all these snags myself. I know about the intank pump being on a bayonet cos I broke the pump in my G60 Golf trying to get it out.............. Gavin
-
The one in the tank failing will cause the big one to make a real row. It is about 30 quid and lives in the tank itself. Top picture. Undo the big black ring and the pump and fuel contents sender are in a unit which is fitted to the bottom of the tank on a bayonet. Turn and withdraw the whole thing. A new lift pump should allow the main pump to have a much easier life. Gavin

Have you looked at http://www.summitracing.com they sell lots of injectors at very reasonable money. The Ford Motorsport ones for the Mustang are the red tops that everyone goes on about on the forum. http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_0102/article.html Maybe you can find something useful in this article.

Leaky pipe will cause this, if not sorted the pump will burn itself out. I had a Passat with no locking. Fitted a new one which ran and ran. I found a leak which then stopped the problem. Try checking the door shuts first. Gavin

veedub-g60, do yourself a favour and don't mess around with secondhand pumps. Not worth it IMO. Do the filter and then if no improvement the pump. Gavin

Ok, best if he can wait until 3ish tomorrow afternoon. Ask him to text me first and make sure I am free. Gavin

Could be, the car needs to be at operating temp though. 80 deg on the MFA. Gavin
-
The note would probably change on disconnection. If the hose was damaged the ECU would never see the right amount of boost. It would be under fuelling. Gavin
-
That sounds like the vac pipe to the ECU, it'll run ok on small throttle openings but as sooon as you try and use some boost it turns nasty. Check the length of the pipe, it should be a meter long exactly. You might have 2 snags the probe and the the pipe. Gavin
-
Buy your own. Steveo29 bought one from ebay pretty cheap. PM him and say I said you should. Gavin
-
There is no reset for the G60 ECU mate. That's just for VRs. Ideally you need to set the timing and mixture again. You do need to wind the motor up to see the extra power. Gavin
-
Lambda probe. It doesn't have any influence until it and the engine are up to temp. Gavin
-
Thanks Blinky and Padman. Great guys to sell to! Gavin

The immobiliser will be on the thick red/black from the ign switch, probably behind the fuse box. The fuel pump will be a red/yellow wire again behind the fuse box. If you sort them so they don't go through the alarm any more that'll allow you to run the car. Don't leave it like that as it give the insurance the perfect excuse to decline a claim for theft. Gavin
