Took the cover off and gave it a squirt of WD, dragged one of the kids away from his 'playboxstation x4000' and got him to operate the up and down button. It's still doing the same, moving a little and stopping, even if I assist it, however I did notice something, if I keep the button pressed the motor runs then stops with a click, a few seconds later it'll run again a little and then stop and so on until it's fully raised, its the same coming down. Anyone have any idea's, is it the controller or the motor that could be at fault. Rog.

Got home tonight and noticed that the spoiler was half up... Strange.. So I try to lower it using the manual button but it only moves about 1 cm then stops, if I push the button again it does the same, moves a little then stops, eventually I managed to get it fully lowered but using several pushes of the button... I then tried raising it and the same problem, only moves a little and then stops. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Rog.

Well old 'stormy' has been behaving well, 500 mile round trip to national day and a 200 mile trip to Bristol volksfest and (touch wood) no problems... so for being so good I treated the old girl to a 2nd hand Mk3 sunroof motor. £14 from the 'bay', ten minutes fitting time and I'm now enjoying 'wind in your (remaining) hair' motoring... result.. Nice one mate, going to look awesome. Rog.

Jim, I've have a look through my 'stash' and I've only got one pump. Having compared it to the one fitted to my car I'd say its a little different, however the mounting holes and pressure hoses all appear to be in the correct places so it'll probably fit. You are more than welcome to it if you want mate. Rog.

Cheers for the heads up, I'll give it a look. Rog.

Any chance of getting the part numbers off these please?? Rog.
-
Anyone have the part numbers for these?? Rog.

What sort of scan are you doing, with my VAGCOM I can select separate modules, I'm sure the abs has its own ecu so you should be able to just scan that. Rog.
-
Jim, I'm sure there was a couple of pumps in with the crate of spares I got with my 'spare' engine, I'll have a did out later and see what I can find. Rog.

Brilliant idea, used to do a similar thing with CRX-UK, camp on the Gower for the weekend and a group of us would drive the black mountains, awesome roads. I'm definitely thinking about this, however I have one concern, the CRX boys always made sure their weekend in September didn't coincide with the school holidays, although the roads in Wales are awesome they can be pretty miserable if filled with 'holiday makers' Rog.

It's not a Storm is it?? they were painted from the factory. Rog.

As above, awesome day, deffo worth the trip although there was only 4 Corrado's at the whole show. Good to meet a few new faces, Matt, Chris L, Bloke with the R32 engined rado (sorry mate, don't know your name) and redeye something (again, sorry, I'm proper crap with names). Anyway, a few pics from me. Exeter mini meet pre convoy to Bristol, mine and Rob's. Darren's and Rob's doing the Corrado's proud in the show and shine. 'All by myself' My ropey old storm guarding the Corrado club stand. Feeling lonely, 'Stormy' joins her better looking sisters for a final photo call. The 'other' Corrado, a nice G60 hiding on a random stand. The rest of the dross...lol All in all a very enjoyable day topped off with an awesome 3 Corrado convoy to Exeter... Rog.. (sun burnt yet again...)

Mk6 Golf TDI 140, or BMW 118D M Sport?
Roger Chatfield replied to seanl82's topic in General Car Chat
Personally I would not blow 11k on a daily, that's house deposit money. Get a tidy A4 or A6 TDI, it'll cost a lot less, most of the depreciation has happened, it'll run forever, parts are dirt cheap and it won't matter when the boss fills it with petrol or has a 'I don't know how that happened' incident... We lease a 13 plate nissan Qashqai and the wife hates it, while it's a good car it's 'too good' for a family hack, she is scared of scratching or damaging it and wishes we still had our old tatty 53 plate Scenic. Gotta love that clock...lol
