  6. A van that isnt car derived and that doesnt have windows behind the driver (on the sides) hasa aspeed limit of 50 mph on 60 mph roads. Lgvs over 7.5 ton, sorry to say is 40mph. some of these sprinter vans have the same bhp or more bhp than some 18 tonne trucks. its daft that a sprinter caravanette can do 60 in a 60 yet the same thing without side windows can only do 50...mental really as the 'van' is probably being driven by a professional driver, white van man or not. just wait till we all transfer over to km/h just like the Irish..... your 60 mph turns into 80 km/h or 50 mph EEK ! chubbbers Nelson I do like those TDI's especially in Yellow. I have first refusal on a VRS when its 4 year old. hows the insurance for that ?? Roy
  7. The AA were better as a mutual, since being bought out and now owned by 'Centrica' they have turned into a far differant 'animal' and yet they have the hard neck to slag off the RAC for being owned by a pall mall gentlemans club. They used to have depots to get inspections done etc,but you can get good discounts on cover via being a member of the IAM for example. Nice to see a woman looking under a bonnet ;-)
  8. I used to get hammered for insurance when I worked in a garage aged 20 especially when I got done doing 96mph in a fiesta pop even the copper couldnt believe it ! does it have to be fully comp ? and on hindsight you always pay 10% loading to have no claims protected anyway. Chubbers

  13. Its worth that all day Jim, it also allows you to let your car go for 3-3.5k for a quick sale. Even if you wanted to make a fast buck just buy it and Ebay it,must be worth 3k all day. :D
  14. I have only two snapon tools they are faultless and only bought them as they were aniversary stuff. one of our truck mechanics has a new snap on chest its lime green ! as for me I use kamasa as I tend to hammer a spanner ! :-)

  16. I had a nissan with a carb and a cat no end of problems as the carb would cut the fuel as it would knacker the cat and create what started to be a 'twin choke effect' that over time turned into 'kangaroo juice' at every road junction,Honda had carbs n cats but they had it sussed compared to the nissan '£500 to replace it Mr' effect, they tried timing and alsorts thankgod she worked at a nissan dealers and got the warranty man in the office and stood at the door until he let her get a free new carb without admitting liability Crazy world we live in.....

  21. I would check somewhere like hydrosun as they do a lot of pipework on our tankers They tend to make them up on site and fit as well if required,I'm talking about Hydraulic hoses... sure P.A.S pipes would be the same, hope this helps as it would sure be cheaper than a rack. Roy
