Didn't really expect it to undo hub nut seeing as they are torqued to 265Nm and this can only handle 200Nm. Got so many choices now, I can't decide!! ---------- Post added at 09:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 PM ---------- Even if I can't decide on the exact model, the general consensus is they are a worthwhile investment, and I wouldn't be better off just getting a £20 breaker bar?

Thanks for the heads up, i'll keep an eye out :thumbleft:

Didn't know about VAT free days, that might take the sting out of it a bit, and there's a fair few bank holidays coming up too . I will have to get the hub nuts off eventually to do CV joints so maybe I should spend a bit more. No point buying the other one if it can't undo carrier bolts, won't get far doing brakes and suspension other wise. Have you managed to get hub nuts or carrier bolts off with this?
-
That was the one I originally looked at, but faired the same in AE's review. Considering its more expensive and has no replacement battery I started looking at the clarke. Have you managed to come across a bolt you couldn't undo with the Sealey one?

I'm looking at changing my suspension over soon as well as anything else thats worn out; brakes, bushes, ball joints etc. I'm always struggling with seized/corroded bolts so wondered if its worth investing in a cordless electric impact wrench. I'm looking at this one in particular: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cir24-24v-cordless-impact-wrench/path/impact-wrenches-and-drivers It's had some good reviews, and faired well when tested by Auto Express, but wondered if anyone has any first hand experience? I'm not expecting it to undo hub nuts/crank bolts but hope it might offer some added 'persuasion' to seized nuts. Cheers Dom

There's a wheel sizing guide on the wiki, but from the top of my head standard wheels are about 6.5j et 33
-
What offset are the wheels? have a play around with a wheel offset calculator on the net and see what ET your wheels would need to be to give you the extra poke you want. Remember every number the ET goes down by, represents a 1mm spacer. So a reduction of 10 to the ET is the same as adding a 10mm spacer. Hope that makes sense!

Out of curiosity, are we talking roation of the top mount, or lateral play?
-
Is there are part number for these two? EDIT: Can anyone confirm N10174001 for the front bolts and N90323704 for the nuts? And while we're at it, any idea what numbers the rear equivalents are (3 and 4 in the pic)?

The Tyre Discussion Thread - please read 1st post

Hmmm. I thought they were 205, all the tyre sites recommended 205 based on my number plate (not that I would read too much into that). Either way, I would go 195 regardless, just for the extra choice. -
I would check all the vacuum pipes for leaks to start off with.

I've been running 195/50/15 since owning my C and have had no problems. I couldn't find any decent tyres in 205 size for a gd price, so I had 4 T1Rs in 195 width fitted for 160 quid. Oh and you do effectively lower your car by 5 whole millimeters!! -
Ouch! That is extortianate. I take it the car has been Cat C/D'd? Some insurers really don't like that. In general insurance has gone up a lot just in the last year, I know plenty who's renewal is more expensive than their current policy, regardless of an extra years NCB. I guess you've checked all the comparison sites as well as companies that aren't listed on them?? Admiral have always been cheap for me. It would be a shame for you to sell it after working hard to restore it.

Looking real nice with the larger splitter Andy. Just got round to fitting the 50mm last week and loving not slowing down to a crawl over speed bumps, until I get it lowered soon................. -
Wow! Think I need a cold shower after looking at those pics. What door handles are they?
-
You should have PM'd me direct as the arms were going in the bin tomorrow. Lucky for you I randomly checked this post! PM me your address and I'll get them sent out to you with the blades sometime this week. I'll let you know postage costs once I've sent them Cheers Dom

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
domwells27 replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Got my new black sebrings fitted after getting 4 new Toyo T1-Rs for £158 fitted! Oh, and found out my top mounts are loose :suprised: -
Some info here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?48998-Bypass-Matrix&p=630554&viewfull=1#post630554 Doesn't list any sizes but thats the sort of thing you are looking for. The forum search can be a bit hit or miss sometimes, but if you start using boolean operators it can be quite effective, not that I know how to do this! There was talk of getting a search guide up at some point, not sure what happened to this

Looks real tidy. Welcome along

Have a read here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?43956-Blue-cap-on-expansion-bottle&highlight=black+expansion+cap

Hi I've got some on my car atm, but swapping them over next week. Got 5 of them, with 4 centre caps. Tyres on all of them but worn inner edge. Where abouts in the country are you?
-
You can get the part from VW, but I think its ridiculously expensive. General consensus is to get it from GSF, but make sure you get the valeo one.

insurance is up soon !how much have the prices gone up ?
domwells27 replied to robrado974's topic in Insurance
I was lucky enough that my renewal didn't increase, even with an extra years no claims. Still £700 TPFT!!! -
Did the same thing to my girlfriend. Her response was, oh so that's what that does. FFS!!
-
Well they might be good but to get shipped here would total $359, plus any import taxes you might get stung for! Are there no cheaper alternatives in the uk?
