You'd be best of with a catch tank, otherwise all the oil vapour will get your engine bay pretty messy. Run a hose from the block to the catch tank, then a small filter on the outlet of the tank. This way the vapour will condense in the catch tank and not ruin your engine bay!

Left side looking from which direction, drivers side or passenger side? Could be the central locking pump if drivers side. Have you got a multimeter? Your best bet is to disconnect the negative lead of the battery, then attach a multimeter between the negative terminal and the negative lead. Turn everything off, keys out of the ignition etc, then measure the current drain. With everything off it should be very small ( I have this on my car at the moment, and found it was fuse 21 which controls the interioir lights and MFI. Haven't isolated the exact cause so have just been running without the fuse for now.

Think they can be a pain to live with. Not supposed to drive them short distances, always got to be warmed up fully etc. Can be hassle if you've parked somewhere you shouldn't and have to quickly move it. Very easy to flood from the sounds of it too. Lovely interiors though and I personally love the [strike:3h14mr73]wankel[/strike:3h14mr73] rotary engines EDIT: This forum censors w a nkel!?

Thanks for the suggestion, have heard of things like these to draw the moisture out of the air Looked like I tempted fate, as low and behold this morning the car was frozen solid. Had to fight just to get into the thing only to be greeted to frost on the inside of the screen :(

Mine's called Colin, no idea why though!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll get onto the dealers next week to order the new clips/seals. I'll bung the carpets in the machine whilst the missus is out, before she has a chance to say no!

Just stumbled across this on the wiki: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/changing_heater_scuttle_foliage_cover_seal.html Sounds like similar symptoms to mine, including a rattly heater blower motor. Looks like this could be part/all of the problem. How difficult is it to replace the foliage seal out of interest? Also what's the best way of drying out the damp carpets? Is it a carpet out jobby, or can I do it in situe.

Watched no country for old men last night. Pretty impressed, quite a slow paced film, but in a good way. Ending left me feeling slightly disappointed but sometimes all the loose ends don't need to be tied up. More good work from the coen brothers, similar to Fargo I thought. 8/10

Not checked just yet. I know the heater matrix was replaced in winter 2008 by the previous owner, after it failed. Hopefully hasn't gone again, its not loosing any coolant. Maybe there's still some moisture in the carpets from then?

Ok, so now its getting damper and colder I've noticed my rado has an annoying habit of misting up its windows. It doesn't seem to be just your regular misting like you would expect, it seems to be much worse. The windscreen is wet to the touch, not just misty. Same for the rear screen, so much that the heater can't shift it as its actual water droplets!! This doesn't sound normal does it? Not looking forward to winter as i'll end up with ice on the inside of the screen!! Any ideas? Cheers Dom

Hope you had money on that one! Didn't see it coming but very happy for him. Happy to see FA not win it, his behaviour towards petrov at the end shows his true colours. Vettel still got some maturing to do, could have won much sooner had he not made some poor decisions. Next season should be fantastic :D

Anybody? I could really do with hooking my breather back up to my supercharger
-
Does anybody know the internal diameter of the crankcase breather hose on a g60? where would be best to get a length of it from? Cheers Dom
-
From what I've heard a FMIC is a must with an Eaton, they don't get nicknamed HEATons for nothing! Would love to have that Roots type sound in a rado though!
-
Whats the eaton like? Is it an m45 or m62? I was looking at doing it as they are supposedly bulletproof, but they don't seem to boost as much as the g-laders do

And most importantly a wash!
-
Saw this in the flesh on saturday when I collected some wheels. Looked real nice, and that was before the wash!

I think that's a drain hole in case you spill oil around the filler cap (like I clumsily do). Got the same on mine too.

There's a budgie under my bonnet (belt squeal problem)
domwells27 replied to domwells27's topic in Engine Bay
Any body? Getting pretty embarrasing now :( -
Eh? Since when has liquid nitrogen been used in GTEs? Fairly certain they are just cooled with air from outside the combustion chamber. TBCs also help prevent them melting Have to agree though, in engineering terms they are f*cking incredible. The amount of tensile loading they are subjected to is unreal!
-
Ok, so ever since I have swapped my chargers over I have horrendous belt squeal. Sounds just like a budgie hiding in my engine bay. From cold it's always squeaky, but once up to temp it doesnt squeak on idle, but still squeaks anytime i'm on throttle. I poured a few drops of water on the belt and the squeal stops, but can't quite remember if this means the belt is too tight or loose. If it's too loose I guess it means the tensioner is shagged. Are the solid tensioners any good, are they adjustable? If its too tight what can I do? Cheers Dom

Thats strange, I've had discount (albeit small) on tools, but plenty of discount to be had on oils and batteries. £90 battery down to £50.

Unbelievable profit margins on bulbs. 509t bulbs are £2.49 RRP, 49p trade!
-
Yh, the displacement was slightly smaller to meet FIA criteria to race in a certain class. There may be some truth in the reinforced block theory if it was designed for racing.

Well you'd of course need 4x130 -> 4x100 adaptors. Not sure on the offset though, doubt they would be too low
