  1. Jesus that's gd. May have to get that jetex exhaust system I've been wanting..... ^^ Scratch that, looks like its only on service parts :(
  2. Cheers! No other pics at the moment I'm afraid. Car is completely filthy and embarassing quite frankly! Got 11 days off so think I'll treat her to a proper going over, may even clay her for the first time Not too sure on green tbh. Kawasaki green could look good on the right sort of car, but probably a bit garish for the C. Not too sure on a dark green either.
  3. Right so time for a little update. Plenty been done since my last post: Swapped my 90mm for a 50mm front splitter (thanks Andy :thumbleft:) Got some bargain Lupo wipers from the 'bay Got some fresh rubber on my black sebrings (thanks for the wheels kerrly) Had some Koni Top Adjustables fitted Fitted a Toad remote central locking kit. What a nightmare that was! Good to finally have locking on the remote now Had the cambelt done at long last! Took her in for her first MOT in my ownership at the end of March. Very nervous experience! Failed on a few suspension issues. I had some Koni TAs in the shed so had them fitted, along with new top mounts and CV joints at the front. The difference in handling is night and day compared to my original, shagged suspension. Just grips and grips around corners and I've now got the confidence to put the power down through the bends, something my last suspension couldn't cope with. The ride is a little firm to say the least. I think the dampers are adjusted as firm as possible so I'll have to have a fiddle I think. Here's a little pic just to show the new wheels, splitter and ride height. More to come once she's had a much needed wash over easter. Oh, and had a little chuftie from the MOT man. Once he had dropped my car back off he said it's the only Corrado he's driven and he said it was brilliant. He even started looking at prices on ebay I'm thinking of cleaning up the brake calipers but can't quite decide what colour to paint them. I think yellow would look really good under black wheels but not sure if it will be a bit chavvy. Any ideas?
  4. Good stuff. Since writing that I've had the car lowered, so back to slowing down for big speed bumps :(
  5. I've always liked matt black. Nothing too flashy but looks neat and tidy. I have seen someone (on here I think) with theirs painted KTM orange, looks lurrrrrvly but wouldn't go with your samcos. I'm not sure colour coding it to the body colour would really work. Personally, I would have black with white details on the vw logo.
  6. Looks really tidy. I can only dream of my engine bay being that clean. If I won the lottery I would definitely buy a rado and completely restore it with all new parts
  7. That's the one. There is currently one on ebay for slightly cheaper. Also digital copies are available on ebay for cheap, but they are most likely pirated copyright material so I wouldn't recommend it.
  8. Wahey! Finally been spotted after nearly a year!
  9. Could be a number of factors. Air gets less dense the warmer it gets, so less fuel is need to maintain the correct A/F ratio (given the same volume). So for a given volume of air taken into the engine, there should be less fuel (but also less power as a result). Also the engine may warm up slightly quicker in the warmer weather, changing from the cold-start map quicker. Oh and you probably aren't using the heaters, headlights a HRW in warmer weather
  10. Your best bet for a manual is the Bentley Corrado manual. Can be a little pricey but well worth it. You can also use some sections from Mk2 Golf and Mk3 Passat as they share the same basic platforms
  11. Saw Once Upon a Time in America last night. The proper directors cut, jeez it was long at 3hrs 40mins! Brilliant film though, the time really flies. Well worth a watch 8/10 American Psycho. Hilarious/disturbing take on 80s high-flying business men. Brilliantly played by Bale. 8/10
  12. Mine is like this as I have removed fuse 21 because of a current drain somewhere on that circuit. If that fuse has gone then the display will be blank, and your interior lights and cigarette lighter won't work.
  13. K reg green VR6 heading west on the M4 around Cardiff on Saturday morning
  14. I've got a Toad RK30 kit I fitted last week. Very similar to the rightclick kit no doubt, but I just happened to get this cheap. It works very well, indicators flash when lock/unlock, but no boot popper ---------- Post added at 10:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:04 PM ---------- Depends how confident you are with cut into your wiring loom. For the basics there are only 6 wires to connect, or an extra 2 for the indicators (not sure about boot pop). If you have the wiring diagram then it just a matter of connecting each colour to the correct colour in the car loom.
  15. But make sure you can get the fill hole open first!! Otherwise no gearbox oil + no way to refil = bad news
  16. Good find. Surprised its taken so many years for Minichamps to make this. Shame it doesn't look like nugget yellow :(
  17. Welcome along. Lupo looks nice. The G60 unreliability isn't necessarily true. The major weakness is the supercharger, but if treated properly and maintained it shouldn't cause you any problems. They do of course suffer from all the other niggly corrado related problems like poor wipers, broken door handles, heater matrixes, sunroofs etc etc
  18. I haven't fitted one myself but there is a guide over on CGTI which shows how to wire it up in a mk1. Not quite the same but similar enough: http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171600 I have just fitted a Toad remote central locking kit though. I found locating the receiver box under the drivers kick panel allowed me to get to all of the necessary wires. The lock/unlock pulse can be retrieved from by the fuse box, plenty of earths to tap into, indicator wires are nearby and so is the ignition loom. Of course you would still have to wire up sensors and circuits to be immobilised but the above guide gives you the idea. HTH
  19. Welcome along! Good to see another G60 in the south west! I'm quite local, but hardly a fountain of knowledge. Best bet would be stick your problems in the relevant forum and you'll get plenty of help no doubt.
  20. Black L reg 16v in Bradley Stoke Tesco car park this afternoon
  21. That all sounds very reasonable, and probably the msot you can do without going crazy. Should see you some healthy power gains. The only thing I would be careful of is raising compression if you ever do it. You'd be risking detonating unless you run really high octane fuel or a water/meth injection kit.
  22. Just taken the C in for it's MOT. It's my first as a C owner, wish me luck!
  23. Obviously reducing the size of the pulley increases the rotational speed of the charger = more boost. However they weren't designed to spin this fast. 68mm pulley size is seen as relatively 'safe', but getting the supercharger rebuilt every 40,000 - 50,000 miles is recommended. Going down to a 65mm pulley increases the speed again, but decreases the service interval. The two chambers inside the supercharger are sealed with apex strips, but as they wear out boost leaks between the chambers resulting in less boost. The worse problem will be if the timing belt snaps, or a bearing fails. The supercharger has a small timing belt to keep the eccentric shafts timed together, if this fails expect you supercharger to explode: The belt should be replaced yearly/10,000 miles, not that this is in the service schedule. It is easy to do yourself to cut down on labour. This sounds like I'm painting a pretty bleak picture, but it's best you know all the facts. Overall if you buy a G, make sure it has supercharger history/paperwork. If not ship it off to BBM/Kompressor Kanada and have them rebuild it for peace of mind. The engine block itself is very strong, just the charger that lets it down slightly. Oh and if you do get the charger rebuilt, you may as well have them port it out at the same time (sometimes called 'stage 4') as this will increase air flow for better performance
  24. The standard pulley is 78mm, the most common smaller size is 68mm. You can go down to 65mm but you would need larger injectors to keep the fueling right, and it would need rebuilding more often. The g60 already has a small intercooler in the wheel arch, but you will always benefit from a larger IC and cooler intake temps To get cold air into the airbox you will need to remove the carbon cannister. Search here for plenty of information about it
