some c**t drove into the rado last night while it was parked and drove off. nobody seems to have seen it happen  so in desperate need of a drivers door, preferably in DBP. door is caved in so not worth saving. bad times.
-
May well be mate, it's one or tother. Early engine with vvt only on inlet.
-
It's not there, have looked already. Haha I'm not the philosophical type Liam. Just get on with it.
-
haven't actually found a stamp on it yet, but i think its an AQP
-
well said that man, hadn't even thought of heritage!! will see what they can do me on trade tomorrow.

no mate, don't feel bad. cars are cars and ultimately something will go wrong sooner or later. being a corrado normally sooner :bonk: its at worst going to be £250 and a Saturday changing it over. It's a bit of a ball ache its happened so soon, but can get bits changed out on it while doing it.
-
as above converting ABS car to non ABS so need the bottle please.
-
NO fault of yours Jake, please be clear on that. as the classic saying goes s*it happens

wouldn't be huge amounts of work to fit an r32 in, but the cost of the lump is at least double a 24v, and for the 40 ponies or so you gain its not really worth it in my opinion. will have the head off the current engine so i can go to town on it and get it flowing nicely. going to keep plowing on in it until it gets bad. just keep taking the sump off and cleaning it out for now.
-
long time since i did mk3 288's on a corrado, but mounting is the same. seems like banjo bolt is in the same place too. I went with 500mm hoses, they are fine lock to lock. but i would advise going for 510mm to anyone else just for the peace of mind. for reference the banjo bolts are M10x1.5 and bleed nipples are M10x1.0.

small update on whats been going on.... faultless drive home with lots of smiles  but as with all corrado's they seem to like being off the road. wiper motor gave up during heavy down pours. fitted a new motor from a mk3 golf, all good again. sorted out a few bits and bobs in the engine bay. changed wishbones and fitted r32 bushes. as most will know had to remove the sump for changing drivers side wishbone..... sadly the sump is full of metal (fine parts and large shavings), seems to stem from the gear on the inlet cam. the cost of the rebuild far out weighs the cost of another lump so sadly the 24v will be coming out soon enough. bad times. on the plus side it gives a chance to sort some of the rough parts on the conversion so not all bad. have fitted 288's from a mk2 fabia vrs (legend Jake for picking up and posting to me) and braided hoses, brakes are very ropey still though. suspect master cylinder partly to blame and that the ABS pump is not working as ABS not wired in, so making matters worse. will be fitting a 23mm stubby master cylinder and removing all traces of ABS next week. not sure whether to sack off the original rear bias valve and put on the AP racing ones yet though, don't know if anyone has any experience of these?? have also spaced wheels and sorted alignment and camber out. will be sorting out sills (bit crusty) and under sealing shortly ready for the winter. spray the front end when it warms up again next year. Still trying to sort throttle response out and lambda's as they do nothing currently (seems to be down to the wiring). so mixed emotions as normal with a corrado!! will get round to a proper thread at some point.

hoping for a definitive answer here.... im fitting 288's from a mk2 fabia vrs. i have everything i need bar the braided hoses. I know everything i need bar the length to have them made up at, standard corrado are 370mm, golf vr6 are 500mm and vrs were 550mm (all total length). I think the 500mm off the golf will be the ones, but im paranoid about being short on full lock....can anybody solve my predicament? cant find bugger all on search about length sadly.

Does anyone know of alternative wiper mechanisms you can fit to a corrado? Gears have stripped on the vr today, so no wipers. Mk3 golf fit??
-
Pretty sure the banjo bolts are the same, try earls.co.UK for brake parts, they have pretty much everything and can build you what they don't have. Thank you for the replies.

Just a quick question, do the later Fabia front brakes bolt on the same as the mk4 288's. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't, but always best to ask. It's the full setup including carriers. And is a 5x100 pcd, It's for a vr6. Thanks in advance for any help

Thank you. My mates dad has offered him his nearly new civic for basically nothing the next time new number plates come out, so he bought the car I wanted, and in turn I'll buy it from him. Haha space is a predicament at the moment. My house is up for sale and I'm trying to buy a house where I can build a unit at the bottom of the garden, but finding one with good access is proving difficult. If anyone can help with the shopping list then please do get in touch. Require front black leather door cards, 288mm set up for the front, 232mm set up for the rear, possibly front upper strut brace (not desperate, but will take one if there's one going).....

Not sure who will get the pleasure of live mapping yet, we have a fair amount of choice in the Midlands. Going for a health check on the rollers at dyno daze before it gets any tweaks.
-
if your going for a power hunt, 68mm pulley, shaving down the fins on the supercharger outlet, port the throttle body and fit cams, fit fmic, then go for a map. Some like/some don't - delete the boost return pipe to keep cool charged air only going into intake. Have fun :)

Yes, she is in the ownership of my friend for the summer while we iron out a few small problems. Then she will be mine at the end of the year. Going to upgrade the brakes and set up the engine to resolve hesitation and prob squeeze some more ponies out of her. Poly bush the front as wishbone bush is past it's best. Then it's just tidying the old girl up. Thoroughly enjoyable drive home and nice to be back in a money pit, I mean corrado :)
