  1. Lock it 4 times and its an inch in the air??
  2. Don't know if it's been covered before, but my sunroof gets a burst of power every time I lock the car. Starts to tilt up. Very annoying! Any clues how to stop this?
  3. you should declare the engine change to the DVLA, as in the event of anything going wrong the insurance company will look under the bonnet.... If you are to declare the swap to the insurance, it makes sense to do so. It's a while since i last declared a swap, but the DVLA wanted to know the engine number, conformation it was fitted and the original cc of the replacement engine. I get on well with my local VW so just gave them the information required BKD(+engine number) originally 1968cc and currently fitted to vehicle KP05 ***. They typed a quick letter up on VW paper and that was all that was to it. the alternative was receipt for the engine and receipt from a mechanic for fitting it, neither of which i had...

    Non-ABS advice.

Sure ap racing do decent bias valves, have to put one on each side though.
  8. Slim pickings in Leicester for scrap yards. The seller thinks he may have a couple of spares so may be out of the creek.
  9. I'm short of one clip to hold the headlight loom onto the back of the headlight. Metal u shape one. Can anybody help out?
  10. Can anyone sort me out with a handful of interior screws? Need plenty of dash screws, glove box, under trays and trim panels.
  11. thank you for reply, purple wire will be sorted then. odb wire - lol, should have been more clear, i know it needs to go into the connector block, but not where it needs to plug in. i assume it has a specific slot it needs to go to?
  12. Can anyone help me regarding two issues i have with the above points. Purple/white wire, somebody has chopped the connector and cable and used it to join other wires together. does this have to run through the fuse board, or can i just join from the golf loom straight to the clock loom? Grey wire for odb - the corrado section of the loom is long gone, was previously a 1.8t and whoever fitted this removed the cable for some reason. where should the input go from the golf loom into the connector block behind the center console?
  13. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=88461 may be of use to you, would still recommend you measure up the length first as its for a left hooker.
  14. I have vag com Jim. if your ever leicester way i'll plug it in.
  15. Plenty of them still being broken, stick a post in wanted. Who do you work for out of interest?
  16. welcome to the world of corrado's. pretty much anything that can go wrong will go wrong....but we still all love them :thumbleft:in my experience they munch cv joints and tend to have idle problems at some point. other than that its general maintenance and trying to keep the rust away. where abouts in leics are you? saw a flash red over towards hamilton a couple of days ago. ive got a very very purple one in aylestone and my mate has a dbp in anstey. give us a shout if you need any help with anything, we've done pretty much every job going on corrado's now.
  17. thanks jim, that would be awesome. ive also done heater matrix, but clips have vanished.
  18. Bit of a random one, i'm missing the two metal clips to hold the heater cables in place at the bottom of the dash (not the hand controls the other end). one black one blue cable from memory. can anybody help me out? can provide pics if description is unclear.
  19. Haha sold fella I bought them earlier today.

    odb2 wiring help

indicators not flashing on clocks now resolved, for future reference; you have to cut the connector off the 2 wires coming from the clocks, brown/white cable and green cable with black 2 pin connector. brown/white cable needs to be spliced into A1-2 in back of fuse board. green cable needs to be spliced into A2-4 in the back of the fuse board. hate wiring diagrams with a passion. anybody have the correct way round for the oil pressure sensors? (odb2) may be that they are connected up the wrong way round, have seen photos of them both ways round so unsure which is correct.

    odb2 wiring help

well after a lot of head scratching and swearing, my clocks are alive. changed to the mk3 d plugs to bring to life. haven't been able to check speedo function yet, but all other gauges working so touch wood its working. only issues i now have are constantly flashing oil light and indicators don't flash on the clocks for both hazards and indicators. any clues which wires need swapping around?

    odb2 wiring help

well, been through what i can today. Tried VR6 clocks. Still no joy. I have power to the clocks, so displays on both lcd screens. they will also light up when headlights are turned on. but that is it. No MFA, rev counter, speedo, fuel gauge or water temp, no warning lights, no flashing lights with indicators (indicators do function). so all in all pretty much worthless clocks! Is it possible to plug the U1/U2 plugs into the wrong sides? and also the coloured wires that come down with the white cables from the clock loom go nowhere, is this normal?

    odb2 wiring help

thank you for replies, will get these printed off at work today and have a good read through. i have illumination, but nothing else as far as i can tell. only started on the dash rebuild last week. fired it up quickly but with the kid in bed it wasn't the ideal time. should probably mention it was a 1.8t before the vr change. not convinced the fan is working correctly either. have ordered a new fan switch to see if that makes any difference. but I've heard this is a common complaint with odb2 conversions.
  25. had a good search round and seen mentions of an odb2 guide, but cant seem to find it. any pointers in the right direction? all the old threads (archive) cant seem to be found any more. basically i have a full late golf 2.8 vr6 set up; engine, loom, ecu etc. but i'm still on an odb1 fuse board. this seems to be where the issue lies, as the majority of the clocks don't function. I presume, i need to cut and splice some wires on the back of the board. car was originally a 95 2.0 16v. engine is in, starts and drives, so is most of the way there. just getting on my tits now... any help would be much appreciated.
