    G60 68mm pulley.

I've got a spanker at my old mans house. Only used for 500 miles. G werks one. £25 posted
  2. Get your spanners out is the only way to be 100% sure sadly
  3. Guess you lot are much kinder than me. Anything smaller than a 6 year old child and I ain't swerving  Nah but honestly it's just about putting your own safety first. Growing up out in the sticks seeing nice cars smashed to bits because they've tried to miss a bunny rabbit brought it home for me. But do avoid badgers they do a he'll of a lot of damage!
  4. You'd be surprised what a full engine service, cams and a remap can achieve. Still be better on fuel than a g60 too
  5. Lesson learned for next time then, hit the sodding fox
  6. yep, donate a fiver and away you go. well after your stats are changed to cf donator that is.
  7. yeah it can indeed be done, i converted mine. everything bolts up in the same holes. as you say you ideally need a write off to get all the bits in one go for the conversion. in a weekend it most definately can be done. me and my mate swapped the engine/gearbox/clutch/manifolds over in his polo, was back running in 6 hours. bit of a ballbag with the loom getting it through the fire wall but other than that nothing overly head scratching. you can use the 16v gearbox on it too, will top out at 130 though. ideally its a deisel ctn box youre after.
  8. Not sure how technically allowed this is mods?? Please go easy on me Need space back from my garage, so my part broken rado needs to go. Originally a 1.8 16v converted into a g60, red non sunroof model. Not sure if anyone has any interest in taking the whole lot. All body panels/glass/vast majority of interior and a pg lump still in there (majority of engine goodies gone though!). I'd rather it be put to use for parts than just be weighed in, but like I say it needs to go. I'm in Leicester and it def wont drive anywhere so needs a trailer. If there is any interest please let me know, can't hold off too long.
  9. Think I've got the reservoir and a cap. Give us a yell if someone can't do the whole shabang for you.
  10. How cheap is cheap? I've got early black with green in good nick
  11. It's a fact people look down their noses at old cars, the older they are the more they do it. Never minded in the g60 and loved wiping the smirk off rep mobile mans face. When the beetle goes on the road (over 40 years old now) people go out of their way not to be "stuck behind" it and pull out on you all over the shop. Weighing bugger all and have the 1600 engine it's quite nippy though (up to about 60!) so the majority of the time you can whip round them and then slow down to make them suffer! Probably doesn't help the cause but what can I say I'm an ass and dont plan on changing.

    black carpet

can do all except the boot carpet, pretty far away though. give us a shout if nothing local comes up.
  13. I can do full early black cloth too
  14. Nah I'm that crap at wrapping I got my mrs to wrap some of her presents, just told her they were for other people!!
  15. Does buying myself a car as a Christmas present count? Couldn't be arsed to wrap it!! Mk1 caddy sport, all standard except for bigger brakes :)
  16. I get where you're coming from Jim, but to me they just havnt aged well at all. Not like when you look at some of the bmw's from the same period. My mate has got an original ish one, red, g60 fbl is the plate I think. Been to a few shows in it over the years so most of you have prob seen it. It's much much worse than a corrado for bills though! Theres one with a bam engine in around leics too, goes well but still doesn't sound like it should for me.
  17. intersting motor, shame they are so ugly!
  18. might just be me being retarded, but whats the price on the r32? cant seem to see it
  19. Sadly not a corrado plan. My plan is to revive/fettle with a mk1 caddy sport. Will be a 1.8t conversion but still debating whether to bother making it 4wd or not.
  20. I've got a complete throttle body if you decide to go that route.
  21. It is indeed dry ptfe. Not really heavy duty enough for me to be honest, you'd be pushing it beyond what it was intended to be used for. Better than nothing though. And to correct myself it's ambersil. I'll have a look in the back of my corrado next time I visit my garage. If the tins still in there it's yours.
  22. the number of unread pm's has gone up by one, but theres no new message showing in my inbox? dont know if anyone else is having this problem too. any ideas whats going on andi?

    Lamp types?

H3 and h4 in the front. I've got 2 of each 90% brighter halfords jobbies. Yours for £20. Can't remember what the rears are but I can chuck them in too if you want. Think halfords have the reg plate search option on they're website to tell you what parts fit, but I'm sure you can find them cheaper elsewhere.
  24. think youre getting a bit ahead of yourself, food grade means it has to be light! also known as dry ptfe. white grease is very different as im sure youre already aware. ptfe with silcone will say it contains it and every can ive seen calls itself ptfe silicone spray. as ive said ambesil is the correct stuff. doesnt come cheap, but its good.
