  1. afternoon, Sorry if this has been asked, i dont really have a lot of time to search :) . My in tank pump is knackered, in the meantime of getting a replacement, can i remove the intake pump and replace with a fuel hose, reason for asking is that the main pump is whirring, resulting in the car not revving the fuel range. Cheers Sean
  2. what about trying to start it with full throttle ?? . Sean
  3. Hello, The squeeking is probally due the belt been old and worn, the buzzing on ignition could be the fuel pump priming. Sean
  4. If you have the wheels i'd bolt them on and see the worst its gonna be is, that the wheels may stick out by 9mm. Thats my opion anyway. Sean
  5. 5X stud Upstep Wheel Min Offset Max Offset 7.5 x 17 35 38 4X stud Upstep Wheel Min Offset Max Offset 7.5 x 17 38 43
  6. Do you know the offset on the wheels (it'll behind the wheel face marked as an "ET" number). And yes you will need longer bolts if a 12mm space is fitted. Also what size are the wheels ?jx??" Cheers Sean
  7. i have this same problem, ill be watching this thread very closely :)
  8. Me too if its not to much trouble Cheers Sean
  9. i too have suffered the 9a woes (well suffering) :D, it could be a bad earth or the engine manage temp switch under the dizzy. or the microswithes on the tb sticking (ihad this at the begining of ownership of my c). or the fuel pump overheating after 2 mins of driving and leaning the mixture to much. Cold start valve could be stuck on and continuing to squirt to much fuel in. Sean
  10. faulty unit maybe, could be that the alarmr interface isnt connected proberly to the central locking mech!!!! Sean
  11. Its already off the car (I bought it seperatly) how do i take the valve its self appart? You dont take the isv apart, all you do is spray carb cleaner through it, let it sit then pore out, then a quick spray of 3in1 oil to lubricate the mech inside. Sean
  12. just recieved the repair kit, very nice looking piece of art. Top job Sean
  13. Sorry to hi-jack but what is the vacuum pipe for on the back of the dials ??? Sean
  14. Theres two jubilee clips that hold two pipes on, undo these and the ISV should be free, spray a sh*t load of carb cleaner in there, then a quick spray of 3in1 oil. Sean
  15. strange !!!!!! Disconnect the ISV and connect a 12v supply to see if the piston moves, also check the multiplug to make sure theres power going to it. Have you cleaned the ISV, if so did you lube it :camp: lol, Sean
  16. could be the ignition switch, or hall sender. Underneath the dizzy cap theres a 3 pin connector, disconnect and clean the terminals(making sure theres no oil), then reconnect and see if that has helped. As for the ignition switch, not sure if you can test them, but cheap and easy enough to replace. I got mine from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ignition-starter-Switch-VW-Corrado-All-Post-Free_W0QQitemZ360208569295QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item53de1a93cf Took about 15mins to install, my cars been 100 times better with the new switch. Sean
  17. This happened on my valver, check that the fully closed isnt sticking on, ie. open and close the throttle to hear out for a slight "click" noise(while engine off).If not spray a little WD-40 on the switch, operate the throttle should loosen it off same for the fully open switch. Sean
  18. inst this the same as your other thread???, Try and do a compression test, also make sure the plugs are down up proberly, if nothing else check the timing. Sean
  19. Are there any micro-switches on the TB ?? Sean
