  1. Thanks. That did it. I just used more force but didn't want to brute force it until I knew I was trying to push the right way. Thanks again. ---------- Post added at 7:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:23 PM ---------- Getting it back in was a pain in the arse lol.
  2. The wiki suggests sliding it with a flat headed screwdriver but I can't seem to get it to move in any direction. How does the clip remove? Thanks.
  3. That sucks mate. It's really pants :(

Jesus. Glad to hear your wife is ok. I see you have a child seat in there. Was your soon or daughter in there too?
  5. The problem with selling nowadays is that it will be increasingly hard to find a good example if you want to return to ownership again. You'll always find someone selling but I think that good examples will be increasingly hard to find.
  6. Thanks I'll take the connectors. Do you want payment to the same address as I sent for the dash blank? No rush with the bands but I'm happy to wait for the connectors until you know (it would be cheaper to post both at the same time rather than separately).
  7. Dash switch blank received. Thanks. I don't suppose you've had a chance to check for the rubber band air box things? Also, do you have the headlight connectors? I have an uprated loom to fit and it would be good to convert it to the OEM connectors before I put it on.
  8. Rear wiper arm and (damaged) upper steering cowl received. Thanks.
  9. Zombie thread! For me it would have to be standard bodywork and badges (or de-badged), suspension mods, wheels and engine mods. Uprated wipers and headlight loom are ok too (but not de-wipered), as are different coloured rears and side repeaters. But anything which can't easily be reverted back to standard (such as de-wipering, smoothing of bumpers) isn't for me.
  10. Thanks. Without wanting to derail this thread too much, where do you plan to put the tweeters? Cut into the door card in some way or mounted onto the plastic triangle trim by the A pillar / mirrors?
  11. I've been looking at the Focal anni's. I assume you'd recommend them?
  12. They are currently sat in a box until I can get some speakers and sound deadening for them. I've got a week off at the end of March so I'll probably get everything delivered and then put them in during that week. I've got kids so it's hard to get any other time. I'm also undecided on whether to amp them. I know it will make a difference but I know what will happen; I'll keep looking at better and better setups, then get addicted to it, and end up spending at least £1k on audio, which I really don't want to do. So I'll probably just go the simple route and put the pods and speakers on and leave any further changes to later.
  13. It would cost me £800 to make my own as I'd balls it up the first time and have to start again :D
  14. To summarise the above: Standard pods - Poor quality sound due to small speaker size and mounting to the pod itself. Audioscape - Improved quality sound due to large speaker size and more solid construction. However they are not available new anymore and are therefore (1) quite expensive on the used market, (2) will probably have one or two marks on them unless you refurbish. There have also been some comments on them reducing access into the cabin as they are slightly larger. Spoonfed - These look great, don't appear to have the issue of larger size, should be brand new, and allow large speakers for improved quality. They also mount the speakers onto the door itself so should be much better quality. However they are very expensive and an amp/sub setup would be cheaper.
  15. Thanks for the offer. I'll see how Pat's one is but will get back to you if it doesn't suit my needs. Many thanks.
  16. Isn't the "bar" actually part of the slam panel? Mine has an annoying small dent in it which came with the car, I guess it was a similar accident in the past.
  17. That's almost certainly moonlight blue. Looks really nice, one of my favourite colours.
  18. I had a poke around the engine bay to check out what I need to do to replace the aux belt. Will be doing that soon and looks fairly straightforward, if a little cramped. Also, the forward and back seat movement has never been as smooth as the original seats that I swapped out last autumn. So I took the drivers seat of, degreased and then regreased the runners and put it back. It now moved very smoothly indeed. I didn't have time for the passenger seat so that's a job for next weekend. Very happy with the result though.
  19. Do you have any of those rubber band things that hold the air filter box down in the engine bay? I took mine off today and when putting it back on it pinged off somewhere and I'm buggered if I can find it.
