Krispy Kreme - New Malden, Surrey - Meet?
Portent replied to CorradoWannabe's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Corrado's and doughnuts. What's not to like? -

The seats look fantastic. It's hard to beat black leather recaros. I must admit to occasionally getting tempted to retrim my cloth in leather.
-
There was a strong rumour a while back that they had a Corrado and I believe that was based on someone talking to them at a show. So I wonder if they made a massive loss and decided not to include it.
-
Recently bought items from Vornwend, CazzaVR and Rams. All delivered quickly and well packaged. Thanks.
-
Drivers door handle arrived. Great condition and better than mine so definitely happy. Thanks.
-
Starts next Tuesday at 9pm on Discovery. What are the chances of the rumoured Corrado being on there? Very slim probably.
-
I was satisfied with my engine bay until I stepped into this thread :(
-
Tax disc holder has the Corrado Club logo on it :)
-
If the valver is in good condition and the engine is strong then why not keep it and spend a little money on engine mods? Sure it won't be a VR6 but even a VR6 isn't that quick nowadays so in my view it's not really about speed. Also, parts for valver engines will be easier to get and simpler to maintain.

I bought my Golf around 9 years ago for about £17k I think. It is now worth somewhere around £3k. So that's over £1.5k every year in depreciation alone. Add maintenance to that, and higher insurance than the Corrado (because the Corrado is on a limited mileage policy) and it hasn't been cheap. I'm at the point now of keeping the Golf forever because depreciation has reached low levels and the maintenance cost is smaller than depreciation on a newer car.

I received mine yesterday and had a good read on the way to work this morning. Great read, thanks :)
-
Thanks for the heads up. Will check mine asap. I must get around to getting an extinguisher too.
-
Replaced the aux belt. It was much simpler than I expected.
-
I've not had a chance to take pics of mine. But I'll take a chance on your drivers handles being in better condition than mine so I'll take one please. Jist one drivers handle though (my passenger one is better than I remembered). I'll pm you for payment details.

Today's work... + = aux belt replaced Thanks to Jim's Sprinter article and a few others offering advice on here I took a try at it today and replaced my noisy aux belt. It's now lovely and quiet and no longer embarrasing sitting at traffic lights :) It was incredibly simple to do and probably took around 20 to 30 mins and most of that was me double and triple checking everything. I'm very much a novice when it comes to mechanical work and spannering so I'm really quite chuffed I managed to do it and it gives me more confidence to tackle other things in the future. Previously I've always given my cars to a garage to fix. Plans for the near future: Grease the spoiler as it has also started to make some noise and then turn my attention to getting the Audioscapes put in.
-
Thanks. I am indeed greasing the wrong part. I've just taken a look on CCGB and found the guide. Unfortunately I don't have any spray grease so that's a job for next weekend I think. Thanks for the pointer.
-
Recently my spoiler has p a creak. It only does it the last half of movement up and first half of movement down. I've just tried greasing the two pillars it sits on from the outside. I've moved it up and down again a few times hoping for the grease to bed in. But it still makes the noise. Will it get better over time as the grease eases it's way down or am I greasing the wrong part and the only option is a strip down, grease and reassemble? It looks a bit of a pain to get it apart so thought it worth trying the simple option first.

I just checked ARZ Tuning in Germany and they list non OEM complete headlight sets for 479 euros. You would need to check if they are RHD though. Or take a look in the parts and cars breaking sections if this forums. All else fails... Put a wanted ad up. ---------- Post added at 1:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ---------- Partsgateway.co.uk also seems to list them but doesn't list a price until you register with them.

Bear in mind that even a non fault accident can cause your insurance to rise the next year. But if your other neighbour is will willing to support you with a witness statement then I would go through insurance out of principle to drive up the inconsiderate gits insurance massively. We all have accidents occasionally but to deliberately drive off is bang out of order.
-
That's a complete pain in the arse. If he drove off then how did you get his details?
-
Thanks. Will take a look again at mine in the morning and try to get some pics.

Have you looked in Internet Explorer tools, Internet options, programs tab, manage add-ons to see if anything is disabled? Try enabling one at a time and seeing if it makes a difference.

Hi all, just got another G60 after 6 years without a Corrado.
