Clk 55 AMG E55 AMG Yummy, After owning a 320 clk i would love the V8 55! The silky smooth V6 in the 320 is a lovely engine and can be quick too in s mode -
He He, Thanks kip that was the boot up the ars i needed
-
The problem is with the corrado not being used enough but with work comitments and vicky wouldn`t use it for work, Hospital car parks and other people not caring = damage!! :( So its sat in the garage and things like calipers are going to seize up i suppose, Sometimes i feel like selling up and letting someone else feel the benefit of all the work iv`e put into it :(
-
Keep on at them kip, im sure they will buckle in the end don`t give up :) Good luck

Ive just had a basil faulty moment and felt like hitting it with a large stick :) I spent a small fortune on it This year with the engine conversion and last year overhauling all the underneath bushes and bigger brakes and this is how it treats me I wouldn`t mind but ive been under the bonnet of the TT which i only bought 3 weeks ago doing the cambelt waterpump tensioners new thermostat and temp sensor! So im not doing the corrado, instead my mate who is an mot tester is going to sort it, its due the mot so iv`e told him to sort out the calipers aswell!! That will teach it :) Im losing the plot here :cuckoo:
-
Don`t you just hate cars!! Ive just spent nearly £300 on the TT if i have to spend a load more on this ungratefull piece of junk its going over a cliff :mad2:
-
Stripped the caliper off and cleaned it up and the wheel rotates freely now but its pulling over to offside on heavy breaking surely that must mean that the nearside is not braking properly now
-
Last year was great as it was dry on the way and dry on the way home, probably pour down this year :) And by the way we are staying at the hilton on the saturday now so should be fun! Looking forward to the show now and the break :)
-
Thanks judith, im going to start stripping it down in a bit ! Good job im off this week! Going to have to start using it a bit more i think
-
The corrado has not been used for some time and iv`e just been to get some fuel and noticed the front brakes were binding in fact the offside calliper must be practically seized on, any ideas on how to sort it? A week before the Nec show too better get a shift on with this :mad2:

Hey up Neokitz im in colwyn bay not far from you Now you behave with them Focus RS`s :) -
Looking for someone with vagcom to hook up to my TT as the engine management light is on, Ive just replaced the cambelt water pump and tensioners but have noticed that the temperature wont rise above 50c which was there before the belt has been changed by the way just wondering if its the temp sensor or the thermostat! I would take it to dave at D&G but he`s just too far away for me :( Only had this TT for 2 weeks and iv`e been under the bonnet since :) The mrs`s idea fair play :brickwall:
-
Personaly i like porky old brewer and Lanky old Mr china :) Have spoken to them both a few times at the Nec classic car show and they both were very polite and chatty to me and the mrs :)
-
Sorry to hear about this kip :( Real bad luck mate! such a smart nugget too, Hopefully the insurance will repair it, Luckily your not hurt too bad but watch your neck mate as my mrs had a simillar accident last year in her merc and she had to have a week off with neck pain and she had pins and needles down her arm and fingers! Get some x rays if you already haven`t , Good luck with it all mate :(
-
Mines the same kip covered in dust in the garage , I usually have a cover over it but can`t even be bothered to do that :( and have just bought a TT that needs a cambelt and a full service so the corrado is going to have to take second fiddle and sit around the back of the house untill i have sorted the TT ! Hopefully i will feel better when i get to the classic car show :D

I have just sold my T4 camper and i even changed the oil before he picked it up and put fuel in to make sure he got it home, I am always sorry to see any of my vehicles go because of the amount of work i put into them within my ownership and always want people to be happy when they parted with there hard earned cash! I just feel like hanging on to the Merc we have now and not bothering
-
Just venting off some anger here :mad2: I am currently looking for a daily runner for the wife which we have narrowed down to 2 cars Preferably a mercedes clk 320 convertible or a Audi TT! So yesterday we went off armed with info for 4 cars 1 in bolton 1 in cheshire 1 in bradford and the other in birmingham 3 were dealers and 1 private Clk`s suffer from rust around the arches and i specificaly asked them if there was any rust and they all said NO! And they all did, The TT was really nice untill i spotted the bolts on the offside wing were slightly misaligned and the bonnet had been repainted He then slipped it in that it was registered as a cat D But failed to tell me that before i travelled up there :mad2: Be carefull when buying as there are plenty of crooks and dodgy dealers out there...

Maybe its not the column then, going to change the top mounts first i think! I don`t think the koni ta`s coupled with eibach springs are doing it any favours either, So hard to get a decent compromise with 17`s i think
-
Im just begining to get this vague steering feel at speeds of 70 mph upwards, Feels like the front end is very light! Is this what you felt jim ? The car feels great around corners nice tight and precise but i always feel like somethings not quite right. I have replaced everything else including all the suspension and bushes Total refurb!! It does need new top mounts though, Serves me right for using febi billstein parts  I dont really want to do away with the adjustable column so what else on the steering would need replacing as an alternative
-
don`t look at the bubbles burst thread as you will in for a shock :) some might say its only worth 3.5k i would imagine 5k to 6k top line only my humble opinion, sounds lovely though get some piks up 8)

some people have too much time on ther hands :) what were you searching for dave
-
