They are the same company! and i have done exactly what you are looking at doing with with avs bits, the only thing i would say is don`t use the Top mounts as mine have already failed after 12 months  Top tip! Only use original Top Mounts! Good service from AVS though and he knows his stuff and is a nice bloke, would deffo use them again
-
My Top mounts are knackered already after under a thousand miles of use :? They were avw ones (Febi bilstein) Serves me right for cost cutting, Probably doesn`t help with 17" rims and koni adjustables i suppose! So im going to buy the vag ones! Has anyone bought them recently for a valver, just to give me an idea on price

Ive just replaced my window control unit and its fixed the electric window fault but my revese lights are still not working (Cant see it having anything to do with the control box anyway) Replaced the fuse and switch so a bit baffled

Do valvers come with a scuttle from factory, Dont think ive ever seen one that has one, Mine certainly doesn`t and iv`e always thought it looks unfinished

Went on a roadtrip to greece last year in my VW Transporter T4, Which granted is not a corrado but any type of older vehicle can breakdown and its a risk :) I just made sure all the serviceable items were done and got good european breakdown, Luckily in 2700 miles i had no problems whatsoever :D Get it done fella it was the best trip of my life and will deffo do it again sometime 8)

Well it was pouring down this morning and i have come to the end of my 9a project and had ordererd a new brand new Gear knob At £22.43 plus vat, Thats with discount  and i picked it up ready to fit this morning, As i was driving home i remembered buying a brand new TT Knob from an An audi day when i had my S3 but never fitted it, So i thought will it fit the Corrado :) After a bit of fettling it fitted solidly as the thread is the same but The shaft of the Knob :) Has to be cut down (easy) May not be for everyone but i thought i would share it with you lot :) Here are some pics but with my phone so not very good!! And i need Another gear now  6

As everyone else has said i was astounded by the level of performance by the one i drove and the torque is frightening i would certainly say goodbye to the corrado for one :)
-
Interesting, Ive always thought you need to change the wings too :?
-
your old engine lives jason with a gas flowed head all up and running now mate all it needs now is a TURBO
-
Turbo the valver lump :norty: nothing better than seeing a nice turbod valver! Thats the route i fancy now ive completed my fresh 2.0 9a :)
-
Yeah should be 3 allen head bolts and then its off, you will be lucky to get 1 from anywhere but dealers though, they have a seal as a gasket and be caerfull not to break it or overtighten as there not very strong you will also lose a lot of coolant
-
Yes drop the pan and there will be a filter that should be changed as well, With mine it made abig diference to the change :)
-
Have you tried changing the ATF as my merc was the same until i changed the fluid, much smoother now
-
Thanks for the info :D
-
Just finishing of my 9a conversion from kr and wondered if you get much of a noticeable gain from flowing the throttle body and what tools have you used on a standard drill or do i need a dremell or the likes :)
-
Cant seem to find the socket i last used to change the plugs in the valver! What size please :) stripped and rebuilt whole engine and can`t find the right socket  what a clown :epicfail:
-
Hey alex i might not agreed with you on the garage thread but that cake looks lovely :) me being a cakey sort of bloke :)
-
Why do the council have to use so much salt on the roads, Its a joke the state of our merc let alone the damage its doing to the underneath of our cars!! As if i haven`t got enough to do now ive got to clean the cars as well as trying to finish the corrado :brickwall: They chuck salt all over the roads even when theres no frost around here because the amount of overtime they get payed :cuckoo: sunday rant over
-
Well thats very kind of you :) I will have a go with a socket first though as dbug said. Thanks again veedubbed
-
Do i have to buy a clutch aligning tool or is there any clever ways to do it without the tool :) cos im fed up with spending money on this rebuild  Any ideas please... :)
-
Now theres an idea :)
-
The problem is when you pull the engine and box out and all the front end you can can how 19 years have treated your pride and joy :) so lots of cleaning and replacing bolts and screws and it all addsup to be expensive and where do you stop  Walesy going from the 1.8 kr to the 9a 2.0 with a gas flowed head and a milltek, k&n and wur mod and some fine tuning will hopefully see around 170 bhp plus with a bit of luck which should be a nice healthy revvy Valver :D Kip its not that hard once you get started :)

you dont get these discounts unless your in the trade though do you
