Is there any (good) brake discs that won't rust/loose colour
joby replied to Mawrick's topic in Drivetrain
Check out CRN discs i bought them zinc coated and i have no complaints been on for over 12 months and no sign of rust, The mitsubishi evo forum boys use them so if there good enough for anything up to 500 bhp ther good enough for me :D http://www.crnproducts.co.uk -
Cheers dave, Hows that valver of your`s coming along

Glad to hear something positive about kwik fit! Unfortunately not the case for me, went in last week for three new tyres on my pick up £275 . after they had fitted them i was told i could take my pick up away even though the jack was still under the back and the manager had to check if the wheel bolts had been torqued up. The next morning i noticed the rear tyre seemed a bit low on pressure so i checked all three and found 28 in one 32 in the other and 34 in the last one when they should all be 30, if they had bothered to look at the drivers door pillar they would of seen the pressures there :? and now the the front needs re ballencing because the steering is shaking its nuts off

Ive had my mazda b2500 TD which i bought new for 6 years and it has been ultra reliable apart from servicing it has had new heater plugs and just put 4 new tyres on which done an incredible 54000 miles on the originals passed every mot without any advisories either and is very comfortable to drive and suprisingly fast too, MPG is about 28 around town and 32 on a run if your carefull. Mazda have been making pick ups since the 70`s and also make the ford ranger (even though Toads doesn`t like them :) ) my brotherinlaw also has the same model and his has been ultra reliable too :D

Wish i had never seen that video, Dont want to even look at my other vehicles :(

Nice to meet you jon and some tidy pics there, bet you had a brill journey home, Those seats are stunning by the way :)

Iv`e Got this exact problem too, you have to open the door while your driving to open the window :) Have replaced the fuse with a higher amp (not a good idea) and it lasts a bit longer but not much :?

Zeal, i have some delta mic spacers for sale, they are brand new and never been used (change of plan) Really good quality as well , I paid £80 for them 20 mm rear and 15mm front, and they are designed for the corrado 4 stud! Pm me if you want some pics :D

Why are corrados so cheap these days :( It does my head in to see old RS Turbos going for stupid money and even cavalier sri`s and old astra GTE`s from the 80`s fetching £2500  Certainly not worth buying one as an investment now! People even say to me that prices are silly cheap on them now :cuckoo: Rant over

This one is a bargain to be fair walesy, But ive seen them for £2800 and you get a lot of car for that and well screwed together there also faster than you would think and comfortable, originaly a £40000 car so well worth it now! Hows your T4 coming along :)
-
Your not wrong there jim :) But its nice to drive something so unbelievebly comfortable, And this one is the elegance model so its designed for comfort but believe me this barge shifts like you wouldn`t believe when you wake it up and get into the private road mode  It felt faster up top than my S3! Good job the mrs will be using it most of the time and the auto box is realy nice and smooth and its got the sport mode :nono:
-
Amazing what you can get for just £1500 these days, Ive just bought this for the mrs :) Clk 320 with full leather and loaded with goodies, It just needed a crank sensor to get it running properly! What a lovely car 3.2 V6 With plenty of power :D These are cheap now and its got mb service history and only 69000 miles 1998

Get it fixed Dancing fish :) £1200 is nothing to spend on a corrado :) These cars are modern classics now and need constant looking after being 20 yrs old! I spent £1200 on mine last year just on suspension, brakes and bushes, Granted its off the road most of the time on sorn but now ive got it right as i want it i think it would be reliable for a couple of years without spending anymore on it! Buy any of the other cars and you will probably dissapointed, They all seem like boxes on wheels compared to the corrado and no driver feedback, every time i get in my corrado it puts a smile on my face aswell as a bad back getting in and out, But im old :)

The poor old TT has always had a bashing, Probably something to do with its popularity, I owned a nice (225) S3 for 12 months and never really found it that exciting to drive even with all its 4 wheel drive and every electrical trickery you could think of and its imence power compared to my lowly 1.8 16 valve corrado! The corrado still excited me more to drive, Thats why it took pride of place in my garage and the Audi sat outside..

Do it yourself and tell the polish gentlemen to go back home and stop taking our jobs! I wouldnt even let my wife clean my car let alone some turd for £3! Ohh and yeh you are a Girl

Walesy, would be really interested in info and pics on the electris as thats one part iv`e chickened out of doing yet as im hopeless with electrics and dont want to set my new van on fire, lol
-
To be Honest mate the rides not bad! It bobs about on the front a bit but its not bad at speed, I used cmc springs £60! be carefull what springs you use as jamex and some others are bad, And the front is on torsion bars so no springs there just wind the nuts down to suit your drop :) only takes 30 mins to drop the whole van
-
Its been lowered 60mm using cmc springs, its on its ars now! With the furniture and bed in it sits really low but doesn`t rub as long as you get the right offset with the wheels :) going to get the windows tinted this weekend and thinking about some graphics down the side maybe, then some finishing off inside with electrics and worktops and cooker and sink! Not sure about colour coding the bumpers and mirrors as they look good as they are, Going to have to think about that one :)
-
No sink and stove yet, but looking at the smev combination one, There about £240 though so its gonna have to wait, maybe after xmas
