  1. Thanks Martin , ive found an old thread and it states that the film has to be removed .I removed one and it looks clear ?, i presume they should be green ?. So the bulbs are not clear ?.
  2. Evening everyone . Ok so around 7/8 years ago i was putting a leather interior in to my car .A Mate who i now cant get hold of said your switches would look great in red and had a spare set . He also somehow changed the digital clocks to red as well . Im now changing back to oem green , obviously changing the switches is straight forward , but how has he changed the digital clocks to red ?. Is there just a film on the top which can be slid out ?, i can move the one on the maf , slide it from side to side . Or has he some how changed the programe on the circuit board ?. Any help would be much appreciated . Rob
  3. Not a lot of seasonal action. I’ve done some work on the car and been out when it’s not raining, to keep the battery topped up . I managed three days off this year which is nice .
  4. I got some detailing bits , inc a nice drying towel . Happy new year to all .
  5. As you say the Caliper is seized . If it were me I would replace both Calipers , but go for the MK4 Golf parts. The rear braking is no better, but they are less prone to binding and seizing .
  6. Lol . We need to chat to him Sean . Steer him in the right direction.
  7. Rog said on fb yesterday, he hopes to be back in a six pot next year Sean !
  8. I think my daughter has bought the corrado metal sign from Heritage too .
  9. Good will to all of you . I got some detailing products and one of those drying towels. Just need some good weather now lol.
  10. I would be 100% in saying the red badges were put on by another owner, maybe he or she preferred them ?, technically the car should have chrome badges, but it’s your car and you should do as you please. If your happy with red badges then why not use them .
  11. When the swap over period came , there were cars with different badges until the parts ran out.Agreed though from late 93 all cars had the same badges. Mine is an early VR , so it does have the red badges, but the VW badge is chrome .

    Misfire

As said Jon , swap the leads first.
  14. No problem Hasan , thank you.i can’t see the point of them then . If they held it horizontally and then it slipped into the downward position for access I could understand it . But if it sits on the metal pegs all the time I can’t see what they do . I’ve checked the manual for the pics as well.
  15. So what do the plastic arms do Hasan ?. I’ve managed to get one on , but the fuse box still sits on the metal arms as it’s supposed to do .
  16. I’ve only just begun to look into this myself. I managed to get one clip on . I checked the manual, it doesn’t seem to do much!. Mine has always been like it . I got hold of the clips a while back . So the fuse holder sits on the metal lugs , is this correct?,or are the lugs for drop down inspection?. As I said mine has always been like this , so I have no idea how it should sit .
  17. Merry Christmas to all .
  18. Austin all Agro , what a car lol .

    ISV Cleaning

Other than checking mine for splits, I haven’t really seen a problem with the damper box , but if they are cheap enough I will just replace it, it’s another thing crossed off the list.
  20. No problem, that’s what the forum is for .
  21. Looking forward to reading this thanks Si .
  22. The normal culprits are the badges as they are not really water tight . However yours looks by the pic to be all in the corner . Check the boot seal and the light cluster seal. I would dry it completely, then put talcum powder down , you will soon see where it’s coming from . I used this technique when I had water ingress in the footwell. Cover the whole boot with talc , any slight angle will let water run to where it wants to , by covering the whole boot , you won’t be looking in the wrong place .
  23. Opening the letter is like operating the sunroof.
  24. Welcome along. Good luck with your search.
  25. Put a bit of blue tack on the end . I’ve always put screws and nuts on this way , when it’s difficult to access.
