  1. Just to be clear . I used closed cell first, then the deluxe underlay. I tried to put the new carpet down and it proved difficult. I then removed one layer of the underlay but struggled to get my seats in , let alone the plastic runners . I’m repainting the seats over the winter so I will take another look. The newton carpet is thicker than the Oem one too , it’s not very forgiving when fitting either.
  2. Mine is very similar to this , I bought the deluxe set , which is basically double . I did use the closed cell product as well Hasan . I’m not sure what to do with it at the moment. As for cleaning the carpet, I put mine in the washing machine .
  3. Seriously now considering removing the new carpet and finding a decent old one .
  4. Is that the same insulation as Heritage sell ?, I also got the carpet from Newton . I put the sticky grey stuff down first , I got the double insulation and found it was too thick . I struggled to get the seats on the runners. I had to remove one layer of the insulation and I still can’t fit the seat runners plastics on .

    ISV Cleaning

Fendervg is correct about the MAF . It wouldn’t hurt to spray contact cleaner on the plug though. Finding the idle problem can be difficult. you could find a split in a vac hose and you are on to a winner . I’ve been trying to solve mine for a while now.

    ISV Cleaning

Bad weather has stopped play on my bad idle problems . Good luck with finding the culprit.
  8. Loving the Capri . There’s a lovely show room a few minutes from my house, the bloke has a beautiful 2.8 in there , got a few things to do tomorrow, I’m going to try and get down for a view .
  9. Fendervg is spot on , I forgot to mention replacing parts . I would also replace the crack pipe , if that gives up afterwards you will be stripping it down again (corrado Sod’s law ).
  10. Go for a decent make . Hella is most people’s choice. I got mine on eBay from Germany. £168.00 delivered .They were speedy quick sending it too .
  11. There will be reviews on you tube for the injectors. Regarding the cold start problem have you changed the blue temp sensor in the block ?.
  12. What sort of box are you using Hasan ?. My fuses seem to be stuck in the air so I don’t have a problem with them .
  13. Hi Delfinis . I will get some tape . Still need to keep the relays out of harms way though .
  14. Thanks for the info Bauhaus.
  15. How can we protect the relays ?. I presume you can’t put them inside something as they will get to hot ?. Ive tried using double sided tape and sticking them to the battery cover , so they are not sitting in the battery tray . But they fall off in the end .
  16. Also check inside the fuel filler cap . Mud flicks up underneath the rear arch and it gets clogged up , thus causing rust to develop in this area. Cutting out rust and treatment in this area will be expensive.
  17. I need to do something with mine . I stuck the relays to the battery cover. They fell off and got wet , so my lights failed as well .
  18. Very nice addition Martin . Rare as hens teeth too .
  19. Yes jim . Pulls like a train . Maybe I have narrowed it down to the potentiometer?. I’ve checked the wires to the electrical plugs too. They are wrapped well and no amount of wiggling alters anything.
  20. I’ve had another check this weekend. I knew it wouldn’t help but it can’t help to try . I sprayed easy start to check for vac leaks again . The coil has been changed. I’ve fitted new plugs . I’ve removed the BMC , just in case it was dirty and playing the MAF up. I’ve unplugged the ISV , whilst the car is running and it made a difference so it’s working,I then fitted another working ISV , just in case . Result . It’s still the same sketchy idle .
  21. I use the moisture traps as well. One on the parcel shelf and one in the front .
  22. Welcome along . You definitely have a well looked after car there .
  23. People do do it though Dox . When I was researching, I found a video and the bloke says “I’ve just wedged a dime in the butterfly, so you can hear the misfire.
  24. I would put it on my own thread on the subject hasan , but it’s difficult to post pics at the moment. I dont want to clog up Jim’s page either. But I will be pulling them to take a look .
