  1. While it's up in the air , will will give it a going over In the drain holes .
  2. I would have thought it comes from driving in the wet mate . It shoots into the drain holes underneath. Some of it comes out , the rest just sits there. I would do a test but the car is in bits ATM .
  3. Thanks for the replies chaps . I did buy a cover Sean . This only happens when jacking up the front end , so yes it must be from driving in the rain .
  4. Morning chaps . If you jacked your car up after 3 months or so , does anyone else have water dripping from the subframe bolts ?. I know you have drain holes underneath but it's a bit worrying knowing it cant get out unless the car is at an angle .
  5. I keep trying to reply but it says token has expired? It posted that !
  6. Welcome along . Great forum . Loads of helpful chaps on here and plenty of info . Good luck with the car .
  7. As Dox says . In my opinion these rarely go wrong, despite the vulnerable position (crank sensor , speed sensor) . Unless the engine is running it will always come up with the fault . If you want to test it , have a look in the search and you will find the correct voltage. I don't have my manual to hand ATM . Edit . If you search on google , correct voltage for Corrado crank sensor, the first answer is there . From Mr Gaskil who was a legend on this forum.
  8. Nice going Sean . Nice to see you cracking on .
  9. I think each car is different Jim . Mine will not go above 75d when driving normally , motor way etc. My oil temp sits around 100d. The only time they rise , is in traffic . The oil will rise when I push her a bit . Mine also takes a while to get to temp .
  10. Happy Christmas to all . I've asked for the love to come back , so I can get her back on the road for summer.
  11. Christ that's a bummer . Get well soon .
  12. If you go to TPS they will sort you out mate .
  13. Far better off with a new one .
  14. Very easy to fit , I would say around 10 minutes from start to finish .
  15. I can't imagine how you feel Jim. Gutted is one word for it . Wish you all the best for getting it sorted.
  16. It's my only hobby too Sean. The love will come back (I hope) . Nowadays I get home and it doesn't get a second glance.
  17. As I said , it's not a bad job, but more time consuming than you think . Mine is just left on the drive now in bits . Work is horrendous and spare time is non existent, I can't be bothered to be honest. I need to find some way of jacking up the rear of the car , as the tires are brand new and I don't want flat spots on them . But I need to support the engine at the same time . That's enough about mine , this is your thread lol . Good luck with your refurb mate , it's a lovely car you have .
  18. New brackets are available, from flea bay too. I can't remember how much , it wasn't expensive.
  19. As Hasan says , support the fuel tank . It's an easy job to do . I bought new bolts to go with the straps .
  20. I bought my sump from Heritage, I haven't had a chance to fit it though .
  21. There is a thread on here , if you search for it , you will find a chap selling them . He had them reproduced.
  22. Just looking at what I have left of a roll Jon . I'd say it was around 6-8mm thick . I think it was Darren (harrier) that recommended it , it was on eBay and way cheaper than the VAG stuff.
