  1. Just to let admin know , that my donation will be cancelled this month . My card has been used online by some thieving scum bags , so it's been cancelled . I will set the Paypal back up once I have recieved the new card . Kind regards Rob
  2. I drive a T4 Sean , a 1.9. The transporter forum is a good place to be . I know there are other engine variants which are best avoided .
  3. It's easier to fit the splitter first definitely .
  4. Someone more knowledgable will be able to answer the question of the leads . If you have changed the senders , have a look at the connection plugs and wiring just to be sure . Did you look st the vac hoses for splits ?.
  5. If you connect the car to a Vagcom it will tell you if the sender is faulty , s faulty sender can cause all sorts of problems , I had a cold start problem , the sender was reading 74d all the time .,
  6. There are three temp senders in the block , I think it's the blue one . On cold start up it sends a signal to the ECU , telling it it's cold , so more air goes in to make it idle faster . If this sender is faulty it may produce the systems in your video .
  7. Sounds like hard work mate ! . Hope she comes up ok .
  8. I agree Stonejag . Keep it as it is . I've been in an auto and I was impressed with the drive .Not to mention how rare they are now .
  9. My first check would be the sensor that goes to the ECU. If this is old , faulty , it will be sending mixed messages to the ECU ,to much air , back to to the right amount , hence the higher idle and back down again . Also check all hoses for splits and holes . I would clean the ISV too .
  10. Don't , your making me cringe .
  11. It is amazing , the sort of money that certain cars fetch . My mums bloke is an ex car dealer from way back . He had a garage in London and what he didn't drive , own or sell is a very short list . I love listning to his tales . He was saying to me that in the mid 70s there were plenty of Americans over here recovering , but the cars they were bringing over , you could not give them away ! 67 mustangs were being swopped and sold for 300.00 quid ! . Try buying one of those now !
  12. I could look at classic cars all day long . The Jenson , amazing car , with that lovely V8 sound . Many , many cars in this link , that I would love to own ! .
  13. You would think so Mic . I always think of classic cars like the fourth bridge , by the time you have finished its time to start again . My paint now has two little scabs in it , so as soon as the front underside is all brand new , I will be getting that sorted . It was repainted around five years ago .
  14. Lol Chris , not weight saving . I took all the interior out because of a leak . I've replaced all the soundproofing and stuff . Just haven't got round to fitting it all back in .
  15. Thanks chaps . The first thing I did was tax it , then off for a spin .
  16. I cant believe how much progress you have made in such a short time , well done . Ive finished the rear of the underside , even now I'm underneath wiping it over !, god knows what i will be like when the front end is done as well .
  17. Its a pass for the MOT . But only just . I got home and it was back on the drive , my neighbour drove it to Kwikfit for the MOT as he works there . He popped over and said it passed but the ABS light is not coming on and the main beam is not working . I think ive pulled a wire while fitting the battery back in as the relays live in front of the battery and its a tight squeeze . It was only when he mentioned the ABS light i noticed they had put a strip of black tape over it . I started the car , the light came on and went out as it should . I can only think it must be the ECU having the power cut to it and its part of the resetting process . The car needs a good clean inside and out its filthy . I cant wait to fit the interior in , it seems like a liong time since i removed it , so roll on the 27th .
  18. Well its MOT time tommorrow . Ive got my fingers crossed for a pass . Then im off to Devon Dub Shack on the 27th , there will be two or three of us fitting the new carpet and the interior . Ive ordered some mastic on a roll for the membrane , so hopefully this time it will not leak !.
