  1. As some of you know ive had mega problems with water ingress lately . We have managed to cure this but the scraper has a big gap at the door handle end . I bought both sets just over a year ago , they were fitted by someone else as i was very wary of doing it myself , considering i had the supposed last full set . We had a look at the gap and decided that although its not designed to be water tight , it is designed to keep most of the water out of the door skin and what does get in comes out of the drain holes . It is letting in too much , which is why what ever we did to the membrane it could not control the amount coming in . Right, thanks to Dave VW , im in possession of a new scraper seal . I have two problems, one is removing the old / new one . When we were putting the interior back in one of the chaps from the body shop over the road tried to remove it with the plastic scraper type tools they use for this sort of job which vary in thickness, but it refused to budge . He didnt want to go to mad as the drivers side is obsolete and we all know once its bent , its useless. Has anyone else removed one without bending it ?, i know i have a new one but its a shame to ruin the other one because of that . The other problem i have is why is there a large gap ?, the car has never had a bang in the door . It can only fit in one place . Im a little worried and i dont want to start putting it in place , get to the end by the handle and have a gap again . Sorry its a bit long winded , but all the info helps you chaps to sort out my problem . As always i would be grateful of any help .
  2. Many thanks to Dave VW for the outer window scraper . Delivered super quick .
  3. It sucks doesn't it . I was getting quotes for the T4 last year , I'm not married , just living with my Mrs . I accidentally put co habiting . The bloke from the ins company rang and asked for my boyfriends name ! . I explained I had made a mistake and he corrected it , only for my ins to rise by 25.00 ! So you get cheaper ins if your gay ??. Good luck in job hunting Ray .

  18. So on Wednesday I went to Devon dub shack to fit my interior in. A lot of us have changed interiors on our own before , I've done it a couple of times . This time I had the new carpet from Heritage to fit . I had started to fit this on my own , but got worried about the trimming , that it says on the instructions you may have to do . It's fitted now but I have to say it was a ball ache . The constant checking and rechecking that your happy with how it's sat before any trimming is done . I can't see why Newton commercial didn't copy the carpet as OEM ?.As I have said in a previous post , I fitted closed cell deadening first . Then I put in the delux underlay , which is basically a doubled up version of a single layer , only to find you can't put the seats on the runners , there is not enough room . So I took out one layer , leaving the double layer in the foot wells . It was still very tight to fit the seats , I hope they never have to come out again ! . While I was there Darren fitted a new bolster to the drivers seat (thanks to Chris Fuzzer for the bolster). Then I cleaned and de greased the seat and painted it , so the all the leather is now finished and immaculate . I didn't get round to fitting the new handbrake triangle part there was not enough time , I need to find out how to remove the handle first ?. So the interior is now pretty much sorted apart from the steering wheel which needs to go to the trimmers . It was great to drive the car again with all the interior back in . You cannot beat that VR roar , it just sounds so awesome !.
