CCGB National Day 2014 - all the Details
Jim replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Very jealous of you guys who got to run down the runway.. I've had the pleasure of doing it quite a few years ago in my Corrado G60 and I still remember it very vividly :) Also impressed at you actually taking your car down there, Chris - I know it can be a bit punishing on cars as the surface isn't exactly fresh smooth tarmac.. kudos for braving it but as you say, chances like that don't come along every day. -
Desperately trying to find the owner of a Corrado

Aye - I think a note under the windscreen wiper might be the best approach? -

I think you've had some good feedback on on price, etc. If you wish to sell the car, please list it on the classifieds :) Cheers. -

Drat - sorry to hear it Neil. Hope you've got the pennies squirrelled away to think about doing the rebuild sooner rather than later, and hope the engine isn't too damaged whatever has happened to it! -

Please Help Vr6 turbo or Vr6 supercharged Views

You could do an engine swap for less, definitely. It depends on whether you're partial to keeping the VR6 engine, or whether you simply want the most affordable way to get big power :) -
CCGB National Day 2014 - all the Details

I think we got up to about 28 Corrado's, and then a few members in non-Corrado's for various reasons! :) We definitely broke 30 cars. -
You have to remember too that it's not about having the most concours car, or the cleanest engine bay.. the whole idea behind the National Day show and shine (as we put on the voting form) is simply 'which Corrado you like the most' - for whatever reason that might be. As Goldie says, some really nice OEM plus type touches, lovely paintwork, and a perfect drop on great wheels - it's no wonder it was a popular choice :)

Nice to see so many folks again today - thought it was a really enjoyable day out and a bit of a change from the norm :) Encouraging to see some folks who were very new to both Corrado ownership and the CCGB generally. And can't believe some of you guys got to take your cars up the runway! How did you wangle that?! -

Every car is stand worthy - we don't just want councours / minters. If you have a Corrado, we want you to put your car on the club stand! -
Having been the victim of people damaging my car and not leaving a note or anything, I share your pain.. it's a horrible feeling :(

Very surprised to see a nugget yellow (I suspect) 16v parked down the road from my house this evening after a tip off from my sister! I've been and stuck a CCGB flyer on it :)

Oops.. I didn't see they were awaiting moderation. Consider them approved :)

Welcome to the forum :)

Unfortunately not :(

Tenner sounds perfect mate :) I'll definitely take one off you for that price. Cheers. I should be there in a red Mini Cooper so if you see me, flag me down and demand some money off me!

I'm after the piece of plastic trim that covers up the aux belts, etc and attaches to the front splitter, etc for a VR6 as well as any screws / fixings for it ideally. I'm at the National Day on Sunday hopefully if you have one! I went for years thinking it was normal not to have one until I looked under my friends VR6 and saw it. Always thought it was weird that water / road muck could just cover the belt down there, and now I realise there's supposed to be this piece of trim there! :) Thanks.

Off topic comments cleared. Please, don't do it. And a free bump for the OP.

Unique Audi RS4 stolen and spotted in Birmingham area
Jim replied to Swompy's topic in General Car Chat
It seems to be getting quite out of hand from what I'm reading on a number of forums. People are nicking these top end Audi's, BMW's and Merc's all over the place :( Puts me right off owning an M or RS model car I have to say! :( -

Awesome. Hope it hadn't been too abused :( -
I'm sure it was (and still is) a legal requirement for cars in Germany to travel with an 'in date' first aid kit. So my gut feeling would be that it's for the first aid kit rather than the warning triangle. Pretty sure in one of my previous valvers, there was indeed a first aid kit anchored to this strap in the boot :)

Synopsis is - still a great car and not horrendously expensive to keep on the road. Final paragraph reads: "The car's relatively humble mechanicals mean running one shouldn't prove to be too expensive. With prices starting at under £1000 and the very best around £5000, now's the time to see what all the fuss was about back when the Corrado was brand new." Seems mechanical advice, and guidelines for servicing / repair work were supplied by John Mitchell / JMR so seem to be fairly on the money :)

Corrado feature in the new Autocar magazine, on shelves today :) Just about to read through it but looks factually pretty good!

Welcome! Car certainly provided some good debate / discussion on PistonHeads - you'll have to post up a thread there saying you bought it ;)
