  1. I think 1992/J is the last year you can have the cat removed. K onwards it's needed.
  2. Might be worth disconnecting the battery for an hour or so to reset the ECU. Then get it connected back up and take the car for a good drive and see how that works out.
  3. For the amount of work, and the cost of parts involved I'd seriously say unless there is a one off set of super-rare wheels you simply can't live without, then really it's not worth it.
  4. I think if you were going to use 'standard' brakes, you'd need to drop back to 280mm brakes and ditch the 288's. Don't think I've ever seen anyone wanting to go from 5x100 to 4x100 before I must say!
  5. Yeah - that's bollocks. I think it's because most Storms were just declared as standard Corrado VR6's on the logbook.
  6. I didn't see a post about this - shame as I reckon you'd have got some more attendees!
  7. Presumably the OE bolts don't come with washers either.. so why would these need washers swampy? (not that I don't believe you.. I genuinely want to know!) :)
  8. Very nice! So did you reshell it or did you just use the 16v for donor panels? Either way fantastic work... looks very good.
  9. I like leaving the badges in place. My only concern these days, with various items like badges becoming obsolete, is if some light fingered SOB helps themselves to the grille badge!

    Harlem Shake

This could just be the best Harlem Shake video.. :)
  11. Does always seem to be Storms up for sale but certainly requires patience to find good ones!
  12. Coincidentally, was speaking to a friend this weekend about this Gareth and apparently that 2.4 5 pot diesel can be remapped with quite ridiculous gains to be had.. :) Looks like a great family barge though!

    Buying advice

Corrado's are easy to clock so I'd want to see evidence of the mileage.. definitely. Funnily enough I'm off to spend a week up at my folks as of next Wednesday and they're in Hunstanton, at the northern tip of Norfolk.. if it's not too far from there and still for sale, I'd (again) be happy to go look at it for you.
  14. Your post needed to be approved because of your low post count. I've approved the advert now and deleted the other 3 repeat posts :)
  15. Yep - common problem. PM daves16v for his door handle repair kit :)

    VR6 Coil Pack

Then you need to say so mate.. you simply asked whether it was genuine or not. If you'd said "I will take this 100% subject to finding out if it's a genuine / original part" or something similar then I'm sure you would have been offered it.
  17. I think, to be fair John, when you're throwing down nearly a grand on something you'd like to get an idea of what sort of condition it is in :) I'd have loved to have taken this off you as it seems a good price but not the ideal time money wise.. ho hum.
  18. Ooh interesting! Did you get any interesting nuggets of information out of them? :)
  19. Excellent.. hope to spot this on the road some time! My folks live just up the road in Hunstanton and I'm up that way regularly throughout the year to see them so hopefully our paths will cross some day!
  20. Bonus! Looks fairly clean though to be honest despite a few niggles. Sunroof seal is still available from VW I think :)
  21. Where are you based? KIPVW knows a truly excellent windscreen fitter who's very good with Corrado screens up in the Barnsley area..
  22. I'm meeting Wendy at hers and heading there for 9am sharp hopefully.

    Harlem Shake

Have to admit they've been making me laugh a bit too... these internet memes get more and more bizarre with each passing month though! :)
  24. I'm all for originality but I do like the moonroof.. it's a great upgrade on the Corrado!
