  1. I certainly would only fit genuine items - but then I wouldn't expect the other ones to snap either!
  2. I think you'd be able to sell it to the right person for that money mate. Everyone who has seen it knows you went to fanatical levels of attention to detail - if you could get level of detail through in a good advert on something like PistonHeads, I think it'd sell.
  3. You're closer to DG Autotech based in Kidderminster / Droitwich Spa.. so they're probably a more convenient bet! Either them or Stealth Racing in Southam. You're pretty well situated for some well reputed Corrado specialists :) Cams and a remap will see a good improvement in bottom end grunt and all round drivability for sub £1000.. A Schrick VGI is a costly option.. for what it gives you vs what it costs you, it's really debatable how worthwhile an upgrade it is!
  4. WTF is going on with the camber on the rear wheels on this Corrado!! I apologise in advance if this is your car but.. seriously.. what are you doing!
  5. Set up a group buy feeler if you're feeling up to it mate. I am 100% down for one provided it's like.... no more than £20?
  6. Excellent. Yeah I have certainly mentioned the removing the ash tray to make a cup holder thing to a few people but I can't take credit for it.. someone told me about it and I've used it ever since. Have to say though, that is absolutely inspired... wonder if it's worth looking into the idea of comissioning a company into producing a limited run of something like this? I'd certainly use a cup holder more than I would an ash tray!! Superb work.
  7. It's weird - I simply NEVER get any interest in my Corrado from randomers these days. I used to get it a bit about 7-8 years ago, but these days no one bats an eyelid!
  8. Scored the code last night I'm afraid guys.. :(
  9. Picked up an LP I was after and got it for £2.99 rather than £7.99 :)
  10. How could you ever go back to a Corrado after owning an RS4? Surely it does everything better, several times over? There must be traits about the Corrado that keep you coming back - would be interested to know what they are! Always been afraid that if I ever got something quicker & rarer than the Corrado, I'd never have another..
  11. Jay - get in touch with Pat_McCrotch... we just bought a load of radiator elbows from Germany through Classic Parts and as has been said they were something like £6! :) Pat_McCrotch (Neil) works for an Audi dealer who have become the first official VAG dealership importer for Classic Parts in the UK so he should be able to hook you up! :)
  12. You don't need to be registered with Classic Parts for a stock check... and they have them in stock by the way :) Get in touch with Pat_McCrotch if you want to get in an order!
  13. You save loads of money on service items - batteries, wiper blades and bulbs... well worth it if you can blag one!
  14. Terrible news all round and hope you battle through it out and come out a better person for it. Hopefully the Corrado can be your passport to some enjoyable days out over the coming months :)
  15. Yep - if it helped get them made, I'd buy more than one - that's for sure. I'm sure you would EASILY sell a hundred especially if you got them on eBay and sold them internationally to places like the USA, etc.
  16. Looking lovely and great to see another one saved from ruin! :)
  17. The racial slurs do get tiresome and I agree, a bit more focus on cars would be nice. Frankly I would love to see a slightly more dry, factual car programme on TV but clearly proper petrolheads (i.e. those more interested in the inner workings and getting their hands dirty) are in a minority and it's clearly just easier to put another talent contest on as it appeals to more people. And Top Gear certainly does have it's moments.. they've done some absolutely excellent articles over the years, geared more towards proper enthusiasts.. such as the feature on Lancia and so forth. I know it's not for everyone but Wheeler Dealers on Discovery is pretty excellent. Mike Brewer is a little tiring but the hands on bits in the workshop with Ed are always really worth watching!
  18. I disagree. Top Gear is Clarkson, and his on-screen persona is purely just that - a persona. Watch any of the historic documentaries done by him (there's the one about the raid on the submarine pens in St. Nazaire and also one about the Victoria Cross) and you'll see he's a well educated, passionate guy who speaks with enthusiasm about a subject that clearly interests him. He knows that being an obnoxious buffoon has got Top Gear to where it is today (a global success) so he's unlikely to change - or leave.
  19. I would only consider a visit to Stealth Racing (near Coventry) or DG Autotech (near Kidderminster) with my Corrado - both of these companies work on Corrado's every day and know them inside out. You'll be in excellent hands using either of them and both are not a million miles from a train station if you need to drop the car off and get back home..
  20. Mighty tempting. I moved and retitled your thread btw.. :)
  21. Be interested to know a price for a kit. Not spent any money on the VR in a while and as you say with the prices of OE hoses being so ridiculous, it'd be a good investment.
  22. Absolutely fantastic read and great to see someone so committed to retro VW's! :) And the last picture / story is excellent - that sort of thing would NEVER happen here. Good choice with Stealth Racing - I only live a short distance away from them and have been going to them with Corrado's for over 10 years. They are one of only two places I'd ever take my Corrado for work!
  23. I'm kind of annoyed at myself for not bothering to do the maths and work out the economy I got on my drive to Germany this year. I topped up in Woodbridge the night before we set off, and then drove to Germany and did a bit more pootling around and when I came to fill up I realised how many miles I'd done and how little fuel I'd actually used.. I think Reidy and I did a quick fag packet calculation in the car and it came out to something in the mid 30's easily. Anyway - Lee, the engines are: 1.8 16v 1.8 8v G60 (Supercharged) 2.0 16v 2.0 8v 2.9 VR6 :)
