  1. The 16V doesn't have a MAF so you can rule that out :) Possible if the throttle is sticking that the throttle assembly is not fully closing properly or not returning properly to engage the idle switch... or it could be the ever annoying idle valve... shouldn't be too much of a chore to sort though :) Check for air leaks and the normal sort of stuff.
  2. Fair old coating here... :|
  3. Please make this a proper classified ad. Thanks.
  4. As ever this forum is a great resource. Thanks chaps.
  5. Just some quick Q's on this as I might get over to the lockup this weekend and finally replace the one on mine that's been leaking for a while. 1. Will the coolant most likely have dropped enough that I will be able to swap the elbow with the minimum amount of leakage / topping up or should I be doing a full drain and replace (if so, I won't be doing it this weekend!) 2. Is there a torque value / tightness for the bolts? I don't want to overtighten the sodding thing and damage the radiator.. Thanks.
  6. Would have a VR6 grille badge too to put away.. am afraid of someone purloining mine at a show!
  7. They look like the E30 BMW ones.. I used to run a set on my G60 if you want to get an idea of how it looks (as they look slightly different):
  8. Very nice! How much would you charge to refurb a set? :)
  9. To be honest I do generally prefer less little features and one "big" thing like a road trip - I normally find them far more entertaining tbh!
  10. Actually compared to modern cars, it seems keeping a VR on the road is relatively easy these days. Servicing at a specialist for a VR is cheaper than it is for getting my Fiat 500 with its weedy 1.2 litre engine done at a dealers! Regular oil changes, air filter, and as has been said making sure the cooling system is in good order.. won't go too far wrong! It might also be worth paying a specialist to do a more in depth engine check.. so perhaps a rolling road session to check output, inspection of the bores and stuff like that. And of course the chains - if they've not been done perhaps budget for it just for that peace of mind.
  11. I thought the "preview" of the series looked very good with some really entertaining stuff coming up for the series. WTF was the deal with them driving Mad Max style with the Jaguar XF and (I think) Ford Focus ST/RS, ramming them into the sides of each other?! Always hate seeing new cars getting wrecked!
  12. Thing is SIARPC is so short you can't find out anything really interesting about the person, and Clarkson isn't exactly Parkinson. Still I suppose it gives me the chance to go stick the kettle on :)
  13. Thought it was pretty good! I really wish Star in a Reasonably Priced Car would just go away though.. I hate it with a passion!
  14. Looking around I think I should aim a little lower on the price. Will take £210 for the complete bundle. Cheers.
  15. Top Gear is back on our screens again tonight. I suspect this will turn into the usual "They're crap!" and so forth type thread but just thought those that do want to watch it might like the reminder :)
  16. If you're talking about the bolt hole that looks to be about central in the picture, then that's part of the auxiliary belt tensioner and there isn't meant to be a bolt in there. You're only supposed to put one in when you want to slack off the belt tensioner prior to removing the auxiliary belt :)
  17. If you could wire in some switch to bypass the fuel pump relay or something, and hide it under the dash or similar, that'd be pretty awesome. Have often thought about such a thing just for a bit of peace of mind when leaving the Corrado in a rough spot!
  18. A Canadian VR6, in Spain! Must be a bit of a rarity! Welcome to the forum :)
  19. Don't feel the need to apologise. You've paid your money in good faith!
  20. Doh - worth asking I guess! Anyone? :) I'll deliver to someone within 30 miles as an added bonus...
  21. Jim

    Am I sad?

Not something I'd personally wear but.. to each his own and all that :)
  22. Good stuff. I do prefer to make things attractively priced rather than holding out an age to get the max amount. Interested mate? :)
  23. I am looking to part with my 120GB Slimline PS3 and all accessories. The console is boxed and in mint condition and is approximately (I think) 12-14 months old. It'd come with: * Official Sony Bluetooth Headset * Official Sony Bluetooth DVD/BD Remote Control * Rock Band Drumkit / Guitar / Microphone And the following games: * Rock Band 2 * Band Hero * Batman: Arkham Asylum * Gran Turismo 5 * Grand Theft Auto 4 * Battlefield 3 * Killzone 2 * Gran Turismo 5: Prologue * Fallout 3 I've not taken any pictures yet - figured I'd get an idea of any interest and then photo the lot if there is interest. Given the size of the guitar / drums, etc collection really would be preferred! I have no idea on value really but lets say £250 for everything? Reason for sale is simply down to the fact I'm just not as much of a gamer as I used to be and it simply is not getting used! I'd much, much rather not go through the hassle of eBay so... anyone? Cheers.
