  1. If the injectors are dirty you can just get them removed, flow tested and cleaned and get them refitted with new seals. Will cost you a hell of a lot less than new ones!

    Exhaust Sound..

Think I'm just getting old :) There are times that the noise is quite entertaining but then there's times you want to make progress and not shout about it, if you know what I mean? And unfortunately you hear the car bellow you just know people are thinking "chav.." :|

    Alloy wheel centre cap

You never can tell with VW!

I find the BMC just a bit too much... though must admit I never fitted the cold air feed. Must try that next..
  5. I love reading stuff like this. I also don't understand how some people can be such plebs with their cars... food wrappers from THREE YEARS ago in the car? Disgusting... Keep posting updates.. it's great to see something like this being bought back to life :) One thing I did miss - did you get the car for free, or a nominal charge?

I believe they do various "generic" BMC's but it's getting a suitable fitting kit that is key... if you speak to Stealth Racing I believe they still sell a complete kit with the right filter and a fitting kit.
  7. LOL.. I knew you'd be in there like a ferret up a trouserleg!
  8. Might be worth doing the heater matrix when you do.. one less job to do in the future (if you haven't already!) :)
  9. Post deleted. Please make a proper sale ad!
  10. DBP does look like that though under bright light... certainly thinking of seeing Supercharged's car in sunny light, I've seen it look like that from some angles!
  11. I think the Corrado is a reliable car.. just look at how many are still on the roads, and in good working order? All it takes for you to appreciate the reliability is to look at original cars with a low number of owners who've maintained the servicing and care to the correct level. Then look at a car that's been owned by loads of people, modified, bodged, and otherwise screwed around with. Plenty of people have owned these and think they can skimp on servicing, or getting expensive jobs done - and invariably pay the price. I've only ever broken down in my Corrado once - and that was my own stupid fault (drove through a flooded Ford.. and I think I got some water in the fuel system - the car recovered though!) - and I've owned four in the last 10 years and probably done 60,000 miles in them combined.

    Any help please

To get the spoiler down, open the boot and pop off the large piece of plastic trim covering the base of the hatch (just need a posi screwdriver - be careful not to mangle the stupid plastic screws it's held on with) - you should then see in the middle a plastic "T" bar which you can use to wind the spoiler back down with :) Even VW knew it'd fail eventually ;)
  13. CH's really do look the danglies on the Corrado... look forward to seeing them on the car!

    Noisy Belt

Tensioner bearing isn't a huge chore. Managed to do mine in about 45 mins. Happy to do you a rough guide if that turns out to be the culprit..

£19 from EuroCarParts for a new one, and a 20 minute job to swap it even for a novice :) http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Corrado_2.9_1995/p/car-parts/engine-parts/belts-chains-and-tensioners/car-drive-belt/?202440405&1&8f70b20c3681329e772672559e039f9556b17534&000108 You don't even need to jack the car up as long as it's not sump scrapingly low!
  16. Guess I will have to get a refund mate :( Cheers for trying!

    1.8t vs Vr6

You will gain easier tuning, and much more mid range grunt. You will lose the originality, and soul not to mention the glorious engine note. Additionally, unless its a very neat install (ala Jay Renshaw level of detail) you will lose resale value or at least find it harder to sell in the event you get bored of it.
  18. Running any car, Chris or just watching? Only need to know if people are rollering so I can stick em on the list. And of course boost monkey.. the more the merrier!
  19. I wish I'd bought a pile of those when they came out.. never would have imagined they'd have doubled in value in the space of a few years!
  20. No mate.. was dark and didn't notice till too late. Might have blue headlight bulbs or HID's...
  21. Shame mate but you've not properly used that thing for years now so it did seem like it was going to happen eventually. Be interested to know if it's a known / regular member or a newbie!
