Yours is a late VR so will have this, irrespective of what aftermarket alarm / immobiliser you have. The symptoms are quite classic. If it starts and seems to run normally (i.e. level idle) then just immediately stops for no reason, then it's almost a dead cert to be this!

Factory immobiliser! I suspect you haven't used the search function....! :) (This thread is a good place to start: http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55219-Damn-factory-immobiliser)

Odd. I can see it, and have approved it twice now... not sure why it's not appearing... I'll keep trying some stuff! ---------- Post added at 03:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 PM ---------- That should have done it..

Ahh... Audi P/X?

Just can't believe the kind of car you can buy for a grand these days.. it's ridiculous! WANT! :)
-
Lovely! Looks absolutely superb!
-
I've seen this one too.. got a personalised plate and what look like Corvette wheels (or similar) poking well out of the arches?
-
Saw awigman on the A45 yesterday just up near The Burnt Post pub - was I think early afternoon...

Can you make a formal For Sale post please Mic, if this is indeed the case. Cheers. *edit* Nevermind - can see you have. Sorry you're selling up Mic!

It's weird - I just NEVER get that sort of enthusiasm for the car at all. The most "chufties" I've had in the year I've had the VR was a chap in the supermarket a few weeks ago saying it was a nice car and that he wanted to buy it for his 21 year old son... maybe not.

What was that picture from?!

Nothing else needs to be done.. just clean it up and get any damage / rust sorted on it!

Have a read of David Worts members gallery thread - towards the bottom of page 13: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?12282-davidwort-s-16v-and-8v/page13 Gives a bit of info on what you need to do!

Me thinks DIY effort. Sadly.

I registered and I still can't view the fecker...?! Any chance you can re-upload the image somewhere else?

Problem is they were specific to the Corrado.. and I believe DG cleaned out what stock of them they could get, when they were making them :(

Nice little article on PH Mk1 Rocco vs New iRocco
Jim replied to Tempest's topic in General Car Chat
I find myself torn somewhat. I do love that older cars were not subject to occupant and pedestrian safety.. designers, largely, could do what they wanted resulting in pretty cars without limitations. However you just can't beat the comfort, and features of modern cars. I think this is why I like things like the new Challenger and Mustang so much - they have the spirit and to a large extent the looks of the original, without any of the drawbacks! And as a small plug, my own review of the Scirocco R in the forthcoming issue of the CCGB Sprinter mag :) -
I don't think we'll be moving back to the old system for all the reasons already explained. Slanging matches in sale threads, and people flagrantly ignoring the rules and then bitching at us when the sale went wrong because things had been discussed "covertly".
-
Oh ok - so that makes it alright. They're on the car for a reason ffs.
-
Sadly too many people took the **** and completely ignored the rules we laid down in good faith - so it needed reforming. Afraid the minority spoiled it for the majority.

Might be worth just ringing a VW stealers mate and asking! :)

I do feel the VR comes into its own though at 100MPH+ though.. I always feel impressed at how hard it pulls from say 100MPH to 130MPH though have never gone beyond that yet.. though do plan to give it a bit of "flat out" action in Germany later this year :)
-
We don't all own VR turbo's mate. It's the quickest car I've ever owned and realistically more than enough for me! Of course I'd like it to be quicker though! :)
-
Likewise. I'm hoping for over 200BHP!
-
Um - fair bit more than that I think! The plastic ones are cheap - the leather ones not so :(
