    STORM advice

There was 6 and one of them got smashed up.. and the owner is the user Campgain on here. A highly original name as I am sure you'll agree :D
  2. Saw these the other day.. who the hell would want these stuck on their cars. Sheesh.

    wipers

I think the thread was locked because the Lupo GTI wiper mod thread had pretty much all the information on solutions to the C's terrible wipers discussed within it.
  6. Thats a good point Nige.. you won't really be able to see the calipers that well through Estoril alloys anyway? Or are you planning a chance to some more spokey wheels? :)
  7. Sweet sweet car... as Tom said, one of my very favourites off the forum :)

    STORM advice

Hi Peter and welcome to the forums... a) I am not 100% on this but I suspect that the logbook will just state VR6 - Storm badging was only applied by the dealers after they had it delivered, as it wasn't really any different to the regular VR6.. b) Again... not 100%... I dont think they had the colour coded grille, but many people chose to colour code afterwards cause it looks good :) c) Air Con was an option, but it wasn't fitted as standard.. so there should be some out there with Air Con :)

    Broken into

I totally sympathise with you mate.. its a horrible feeling to have your car broken into. I was lucky that I never actually got anything stolen.. but it really is a horrid feeling. I just kinda sat in my passenger seat thinking "what the hell do I do now?".. Just try not to let it get you down.. and get your alarm checked out :)
  11. A friend of mine has done his calipers.. he painted them without taking them off. But you might want to take them off, and give them a bit of a clean before you put the stuff on as the calipers are covered in brake dust.. he put on a nice bright red colour and it ended up a murky kind of purple colour!
  12. Indeed... Heres a full pic of his car in fact (the day it blew up... sometime in January) :
  13. Guys car is superb... one of my favourite modified C's. 3 (ish) litre, supercharged Storm VR6.. it must go like greased lightning since its recent huge engine overhaul :) Very slight mods on the outside, and my favourite alloy wheels too.. this car has it all :D

    Is this a good price??

Well.. the main rule about buying a car is that you can walk away if you are not 100% happy with the deal. The Corrado is by no means a common car, but there are always plenty out there to buy.. take your time and buy the right one for you. Don't make the mistake that I did and jump in and buy the first one, even though you were not completely sure about the deal. £4000 is definately very steep given the uncertain history of this car.. if they are not willing to bargain take your money elsewhere.. the nugget yellow G60 which is for sale on this forum sounds like a sweeter deal to me :) I can put up some reference images of the standard Corrado wheels if you need as well...

Is your motor getting a full respray? And are you getting it done in white again or did you fancy a change? :)

    Is this a good price??

£4000 is potentially a little high.. I would try knock a few hundred quid off. I px'd my Corrado in with Citroen at £2,800 and it later went on to sell for £4000 at a local dealers.. that was a 1994/L in generally very good condition, and had 87,000 miles on it. Admittedly it didn't have a FVWSH but it did have a load of reciepts for last year alone adding up to £2000.
  18. Some of the Capri's were excellent.. and the one my neighbour has which he keeps threatening to sell which I *really* want to buy... Its a D plate 2.8 version with a turbo technics conversion on it :) I've been out in it before and it really is like nothing I have ever been in for sheer speed. And it sounds amazing even at idle.. very rumbly :)
  19. The standard 0-60 time on a vr6 is 6.3s Odd... Parkers Guide say around 6.8 seconds. I'd honestly be interested to know which was quicker but I suspect the Calibra Turbo would have the edge. You know how easy it is to unleash extra horses from forced induction cars as well... 204BHP as standard.. I bet with a rechip, nice zorst and air filter modifications they can get that up quite nicely!
  20. Indeed... I was wary of this when I saw it posted but you guys seem like a sensible bunch :) I wouldn't expect a Corrado to keep up in a straight line against something like a Calibra Turbo, but the Corrado was never about that... handling is its niche :) *edit* Looking at the Specs, I think the Corrado VR6 would stomp a Calibra V6.. but the Calibra Turbo looks a bit crazy with a 0-60 of 6.4 seconds.. I guess we'd have to be talking to the supercharged VR6 owners to even get close :) And just so you know, I don't want this to turn into an interforum war.. thats definately not the intention of us lot!! :)
  21. Hehe... well just be careful what you say. Dont wanna start some inter-forum war with the Calibra club - they seem pretty polite and normal to be honest. Have to have a Calibra / Corrado Forum 'shootout' at Bruntingthorpe or somthin ;)
  22. Can't knock the response mate.. they seem pretty friendly! Should reply Lenny, and give em the details..

Looks good mate... I'll be interested to see how these look when fitted :)
  24. Hm.. have to be honest. I have never really considered the Calibra a classy car - I wouldn't say no to a nice one if I was offered one for free, but I personally don't rate them up against the Corrado. Corrado got da looks :)
