  1. What wax do you guys use / reccomend?
  2. Maserati BiTurbo.. now that IS a retro looking car. I should hate to think what the maintainence / upkeep is on a motor like that!! :)
  3. Fixed your quote for you skid.. twas a bit broken :) What kinda regularity do you guys wash your car? Both the Corrado and Saxo have so far been treated to pretty much weekly washes.. the Corrado religiously though I have almost started to slack off on the Saxo, but my determination to keep it in good nick means I try to wash it every weekend. So once a week for me... anyone else?
  4. I'd like a Corrado first! :D But if I DID have a Corrado, and I was going to trade it in... Nissan Skyline R34 GTR would be pretty darn nice, or maybe something crazy like a Lotus Carlton :)
  5. Hi Peter, If you open the boot of your car, and look near the latch, there should be a white sticker with various codes and numbers on it. One of these codes should be a little more bold / stood out than the rest, and will be 4 digits.. should look like LC4Z or something. Thats your paint code :)
  6. Nope.. used to do the same. Even used to do it even if it was gonna rain in the winter to get all the salt and crap off the wheels and the paint. Nowt wrong with actually caring for your car! :)
  7. As long as the old guy accepts full responsibility then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Insurance force you to mention any accidents you have had regardless of blame, but they won't charge you for the fact that someone hit you. I got shunted in my first car, Peugeot 205, due to someone not paying attention - I have to declare it when I insure my car, but it doesn't put the premium up.
  8. Andy.. sorry to go OT.. but when are we gonna see pics of the VR!! :)
  9. Hi John... nice to see you here. Will no doubt see you at Woburn :)
  10. :) I've always like the Corrado's shape as it is, most definately. I am the same with most cars that I like.. I like em because they already look good! Just grafting an enormous snow plow onto the front or a huge drag creating spoiler (especially onto non-tail happy front wheel drive cars..why!!!!) doesn't do it for me.
  11. I believe one of the things created this year was a half price, half years membership.. email Vicki to find out if thats the case. I know it was discussed at the AGM, but my feeble brain can't quite remeber if it was decided to go ahead with it.
  12. I'd say standard for now.. but if I was modding, I would prefer to go 90% performance mods, and 10% cosmetic tweaks :)
  13. I'm not entirely sure to be honest.. i'm gonna go, but I am a member (even though I don't drive the necessary car). I've never been asked to see a CCGB 'card' at any event I have ever been to before so... You should really sign up though RobyD :)
  14. About 60 miles from Coventry :) Down the M1 and about 10/15 miles out of Milton Keynes by the looks of it!
  15. Bit optimistic at £3,500 starting price..
  16. Holy cow.. thats gonna hurt! What happened exactly? Were you being a little bit ambitious, or did you just hit some oil or something? Hope you were ok??

    J13 VRG IS Campaigns car :) :)
  19. Yep.. guilty... well, I used to. Out the front of where I work there is a little bit of shiny glass, and the road seems to dip a little - so the reflection used to just look excellent with the car pointing down slightly. :)

    Air Filter

Yep.. panel filters are pretty much a standard swap for the crappy VW ones, but there isn't really any performance gain to be had by swapping between them.. they are all about the same from what I understand. And yes, drilling the airbox is a good way to get slightly better throttle response and a nice loud induction roar every time you stick your toe down :)
  21. You might want to speak to Stealth to see what exhausts they did.. when I was trying to arrange a new backbox for mine (when the OE one fell apart) I enquired about Magnex systems ("Sorry, but we don't sell Magnex...") and they seemed to really want to sell me either Supersprint or a Jetex. Now its not a bash at Stealth cause I know they are a great bunch up there, but I don't know if their exhaust selection is a little limited? For reference, the Milltek pipe is a nice shiny oval shape almost like the OE one, but a smidgen larger :)

    HELP.........LEAK

Hi there, and welcome! Must likely candidate for that would be the door skin / door seal - you might want to check all the way round the door, and actually the skin inside the door to make sure they are all in tact without any splits. You could test the door as being responsible by blasting it with the hosepipe for a minute or two and see what comes in. Anyone else know any possible candidates for this?
  23. Hehehe.... yeah, not a bad idea :D
