Emmo... i'd definately take it to a specialist. Its a waste of time fitting it yourself, as the insurance companies don't like people fitting alarms themselves - when you take out insurance and you say you have a particular alarm fitted they will ask to see a Certificate of Installation - you only get one of those when you get the alarm fitted by a certified installer! Not only that but modern alarms are NOT easy to fit. I'd personally get it done properly!
-
I can't reccomend an MP3 capable head unit enough in that case.. can fit about 8 or so well encoded MP3 albums on every CD - really kicks ass :)
-
Just got a drum&bass remix of Papua New Guinea, and it really is awesome. The tune doesn't really need updating cause it still sounds so new, but this ups the beat and really sounds superb :)

Thats what appeals about the Accord Type R... looks like it can be a seriously fun car, but is also a capable & comfortable family saloon car when you need it. Its also pretty affordable - can pick one of those puppies up for about 12k! :)
-
Difference is that you guys can afford to pick up excellent old V8 powered trucks & cars whereas over here you have to be a millionaire to keep something like that on the road!! :)
-
I fancy getting a Corrado after my Saxo.. lol :D Na, but seriously, there are a lot of nice cars out there. Realistically, some I would like to step up to a little later on down the line : Seat Ibiza Cupra or Leon Cupra R.. Honda Accord Type R, or maybe an Integra Type R. An old Porsche 911... Thats the selection of cars I would like at the minute, that are realistic and possibly affordable. Can't get enough of the Accord Type R's.. have seen a few of those around at the minute and they just look superb :)

Sorry to hear that Andy.. who'd of thought it was gonna be so difficult to buy a damn car!! :(
-
Andy, is Papua New Guinea on the ISDN album? One of my favourite tunes ever that :)
-
I remeber my mate had the Renault 19 16v.. that was the first car that really got me into cars! That thing used to be able to move at some serious pace.. 2nd gear seemed to go on forever, and the power through 2nd was nuts. Great car! I can only imagine the Clio 16v was even more crazy.. that power crammed into that little car.

Wouldn't have minded owning a 205 GTi 1.9, Fiesta RS Turbo, or a Renault 5 GT Turbo... Not really too sure about the 80's/90's hot hatch scene though I am afraid :(
-
Thanks Jeremy.. but I have already been out this morning to pick up a 52x Liteon CDRW as I had heard nothing but good things about those drives off a number of friends & work collegues. But again.. thanks for letting me know m8! :)
-
You got some good music in there m8.. some tunes that come to mind would be : Goldie - Sea Of Tears... Royksopp - Poor Leno And probably most of the MoS Chillout CD's as they are usually pretty good :) At the minute, just got an MP3 CD in my Pioneer player.. has got both Coldplay albums on it, and the 'Very Best Of Euphoria' - though I am planning to pick up a CDRW drive tomorrow so I can sort out my car music selection properly :)

I'm delighted it all worked out for you mate :) Can't wait to see it in the metal! :)

Well tried a whole bunch of companies this evening but they were all laughable. Managed to get the More Than quote down to just under £600, so I am definately going with them. Bye bye Direct Line! :)
-
I just saw Bell Directs number in Top Gear magazine.. going to give them a call shortly and see if they can better the More Than quote :)
-
Jesus.. I just phoned up HIC because I had heard good things about them... he said they were coming back with over £1000! More Than are still the strongest company for me @ £612...
-
Anyone got a list of good insurance companies and their phone numbers? Like HIC for example.. I need to do my phoning around this month.
-
Yeah.. I figured 900 was quite high as well! My mates VR used to idle very nicely at 600RPM...
-
It amazes me how reluctant people can be to sell their fricking cars... :( I hope you get something sorted soon m8!
-
What happened to that tidy blue VR you were keen on m8?
-
I get pissed off with insurance companies. They refused to quote me on my Saxo VTR.. a group 7 car for crying out loud. What the hell am I supposed to drive?!
-
I'm really sorry to hear that mate... things just have a knack of screwing you over like that. Seems to be a lot of bad luck stories going around at the minute, and I hope you manage to get stuff sorted mate! Rado looked peachy btw :)
-
2CC, I know you were mulling the Koni's over for some time. Are you happy with the results? How does the car drive & look now?
-
Blimey.. there is an edit button you know :) You can modify posts that you made to correct things like typo's! :)
