It makes you wonder how badly the previous owner(s) have neglected the car in other areas (that perhaps might not be noticable on the surface) if the engine block has a fault in it.. But then considering the amount of effort Autotek have put into this (and to be honest, I am very impressed by what they have done) it'd be a bit of a shame to get this far into the deal and walk away. I dunno.. not sure to be honest. Anyone else got an opinion? :)

Yep.. I remeber driving my car home from the dealers that I bought it from. I took a bit of a risk as it wasn't taxed, but I was just desperate to drive it.. so I let my old man take my crappy Peugeot 205 and I cruised home the 40 or so miles in the Corrado. It was amazing - I felt so proud driving through some towns and having people checking out my car after only just buying it. It felt amazing to have (compared to my 1 litre Peugeot) so much power and such a quality build to the car.. was so proud to show the car off to my mates as well :) I remeber the first few weeks after I got it, a guy pulling into the car park at the place I worked in his Golf to chat to me about my car.. the specs, where I got it etc.. he was in a MK2 Golf and we had raced up a local road, and it was great to chat about my car. And for the first few weeks after I actually got it taxed I remeber it feeling like it was only a temporary thing, and that I would have to give this wonderful car back as it was on borrowed time or something.. Sigh... And thats why I need another Corrado :)

Pardon?! :D :D :D Na.. seriously Darren.. I hope this venture goes really well. And if I ever do get back into a Corrado (as like you I can't shake the dub bug) i'd love to have some work done at your premises one day.. just a shame you are so darn far away.

Addons for a Clifford Alarm or a whole new system?

Remote start is a £250 addon..... ouch!! :)

Good addon for the Concept 300 is 'Dual Zone' which will sound warning chirps if anyone stands near the car for any more than a few seconds.. will chirp about 4 or 5 times and then set the alarm off. Again, nice peace of mind. And its only £100 quid to add it on :)

For your insurance, you should definately try Direct Line mate. I had a real hard time getting any realistic quotes when I was phoning around, but Direct Line were one of the best I had. Very nice car though mate.. looks great :) What kinda mileage / service history / mods does it have? :)

So any idea if you are planning on selling this car then James? And if so, how much you thinking?

Yeah, but if the reserve price is only like £15,100 and someone bids on it.. then they are screwed. And I wouldn't want to try and withdraw my auction with the excuse 'it was just for the crack' ;) I'm a bit annoyed though as I emailed about 2 days ago asking what the reserve was and he didn't bother replying to me... does he even wanna sell the damn thing?!

Sure thing.. obviously as I am not currently a Corrado owner, I am not going to the majority of the events.. but I do go to a handful of West Midlands ones whenever they crop up and I am hoping to go to the CCGB thing at the end of August.. I don't quite know what it is, but its a day out eh? :)

I never really found my 2.0 16v to be THAT quick to 60 as its quite a weighty car.. I was always more impressed that it could plough from 70 to well over 120 with relative ease, where the smaller more nippy cars would really start to run out of breath by about 90MPH :)
