Lol yeah... wrong gear my friend! :) Shame there aint more Corrado vids on there!! :(
-
Well the rotor arm on mine was worn when I replaced it.. could definately tell because the metal tip right at the end of the arm was seriously corroded and dirty, and the new one I had bought was basically like shiny new metal. As for the cap... not so sure on that. To be honest, a new cap and rotor arm are so cheap, I figured they were worth replacing anyway as it was like £5 for each item or something like that :)

any1 got any funny storys about racing other cars?
Jim replied to sefton's topic in General Car Chat
I have one funny for my part, and one not so funny.. funny one was about 2 months into ownership of my Corrado, and I was driving up to the cinema. It was a three lane road.. me in the middle, my mate in his Honda on the right, and then some Fiesta pulls up alongside me in the left lane. Left lane is to go left so it was obvious he was gonna try something.. there were 3 or 4 baseball capped idiots sat in the car.. driver revving, ready to go, and looking over sneering. I just sat there, lights changed and I planted my foot right down on the gas... I heard him try but by the time I had changed into 2nd gear he was already history. Hilarious :) The not so funny one was me trying to show up some guy in an old shaped, tatty looking Civic. We launched from the lights and he peed all over me.. caught up with him at the next set of lights to see that his tiny little Civic had a 2 litre VTEC engine.. taught me to check the badging before racing people :) -
Well both me and Tom think its a great idea.. the first real effort at putting a Corrado Forum presence together at a show (I *think* - so I apologise if someone else already has - I have a habit of overlooking such important stuff!! :(). So gets both thumbs up from me mate :) Though I suspect Andi is away all weekend now so.. probably won't hear from him till late Sunday :(

Hi mate... It wasn't really forum ettiquette or anything like that, and I certainly never meant to come across as trying to be rude or anything to you.. that is never either my or anyone elses intention on this forum. I personally appreciate that you are arranging all this, and its the efforts of forum members like yourself that totally make this place. We only suggested you just let Andi know is that this is his baby.. but as we said, we are sure he'd be happy that you were doing this! Sorry for any misunderstanding. I guess the typed word still has a long way to go over a chat :(

I shouldn't worry Gazza.. just drop him a PM to let him know. I am sure he'd be really pleased that people were going to be setting up a Corrado Forum stand at a show, but its definately worth double checking with him as he created this place :)

Good price, nice car.. looks great mate :)

Just think of the stuff you could do to it.. Twin Turbo? Exhaust/suspension/wheels/leather retrim/full engine rebuild/full respray/etc/etc!!! Suits you sir!! :)

Unfortunately I don't have any advice that I can offer, but I really hope that you manage to get this cleared up and get the money back off them. Its disgusting that companies feel they can get away with this kind of attitude even when they are blatantly at fault, and I hope they get their asses kicked for it. Please keep us posted!

Well one of em would be bound to break.. so I am sure you wouldn't have one every day every week :D
-
£33k!!! Its crazy. Just think how many Corrado's you could buy for that :D
-
Yep.. aiming to go.. would like to get a car sorted before then :)
-
Good luck dude... though we all know its gonna go swimmingly :)
-
I'm sure it'll be fine... I know its a bit of clapped out old beater tho Roddy ;)

The 'low battery' sound is a very low chirp when you disable your car alarm.. strangely I have had this happen once or twice already within a few months. Maybe its to do with me arming/disarming the car from huge distances because its such a novelty :D

Yeah.. quite a big & well known company.. you'd think they'd want to keep the website covered! Ho hum.

*wakes up* Just gimmie a min :)

Is there anything you are trying to pull of the site in particular? Google Cache might be able to come to the rescue... :)

Welcome to the forum... some of the problems you mention CAN be pricey to put right depending on the severity.. ABS - might not be anything major wrong. ABS Sensor can sometimes misbehave, warning you of a problem when there isn't anything really wrong. There is some kind of sensor cleaning procedure that someone on here might be able to explain for me cause I don't actually know :) Brake Discs - new discs allround will probably cost you about £150 if you go for some decent ones.. or just get some yourself from a motor factors and fit em yourself as it will cost a lot less. Multibelt - Not sure on this? Must be the belts around the waterpump and PAS? Oil Leak - Again.. not too sure. Sunroof Motor - Could be a sign that the sunroof is on its way out, and these can be very costly to fix unless you are prepared to tackle the problem yourself. I believe the common fault is the guide rails bending and snapping.. but if its just a slow motor, maybe the rails just need a bit of grease or something as they might be a bit dry? Brake Pipes - I don't believe they will cost a lot to put right. Water Pipe - Not much help am I.. don't know about that either. To be honest, most of these sound like small issues that you can get sorted. The car sounds nice for the price, but you could mention the potential ABS and sunroof faults as you might be able to knock the price down a little? It sounds like a reasonable buy though to be honest :)

Excuse my stupidity, but what does a clay bar do? Isn't it to smooth out rough paint surfaces?
-
Well I guess it makes a change from limo's ;)
-
I know.. I was just foolin about :) I take it that it all got sorted out now?

What I love about the Pulsar GTi-R (and this was proved by some mates who didn't actually know what it was) is that most people just laugh of them because they think they are something like a Nissan Sunny with a body kit and alloy wheels.. and only those who actually know what they are, know not to laugh ;) Was with some mates one day and one of them saw a Sunny GTi-R and laughed at it.. I had to 'correct' them that the GTi-R might just possibly eat their Honda Civic for breakfast without even having to try :)

I never found my 2.0 16v that driveable around town.. my Saxo is miles better as its geared for pulling really well at low revs. Did a comfortable drive between sites for work today with 4 people in the car and I barely noticed.. compared to my Corrado where you could really tell when you had people in the car, and were just chugging about in the lower revs... I guess thats the problem with the 16v engines on the Corrado.. they only really come into their element once you get above 3000RPM and get the engine singing :) *edit* Oh, and thanks for the engine info.. that helped clear that up. I think it helps to explain why a guy who works in the motor vehicle department was a little stumped by the fuel injection system on my car when I let him take a look at it.. style electronic injection components, and some older style mechanical bits..
