Cheers for the quick reply. Couple of questions (im not Mr DIY so need things explained simple :-) 1) Does this flap break or just jump out of position? Should i be looking at getting another heater box? In which case im not going to bother attempting to remove just yet. 2) I had a quick look in the engine bay but have no idea which bolts or even matrix hoses you mentioned. Will load some pics maybe you can point out which ones they are. 3) When you say remove the centre console do you mean the heater controls and stereo or the whole section? It all looks like part of the dash.

Right ive spent the afternoon trying to fix my heater issues. Replaced the controls but still getting little or no air to the demister vents. Took some time to understand how the mechanisms work and i think i get it. The middle cabe (that goes into what i imagine is the heater box) doesn't seem to move very much. I can hear a flap trying to move/turn but its stuck. I assume its a flap that directs the air and is broken? That particular cable literally moves a couple of millimetres and then is stuck. Anyway what i want to know is can the heater box be removed without taking the dash out and if so how? My drivers and passengers footwell plastics are out but cant see how to get more access to investigate. And on a side note, anyway got a pic of how the 3 cable sit on the heater controls? Should have checked before taking it apart :-( Thanks

I assume i can get this castrol stuff from anywhere eg halfords? Or is it a special order item?

Im planning on swapping door handles over this weekend. Just wondering if there is a specific grease to use or will general one do? Also will the same grease be ok on the window rollers? Cheers

Decided to see how bad the rust is behind the side indicator and lets just say its left a lovely rusty hole. So im after a drivers front wing. Dragon green would be nice but good condition is my first priority. Let me know what you got. Cheers

Went to TPS the other week and tell the guy i need a few parts. "what car he asks?" to which i reply "corrado VR6". He then asks "oh the new one?" Being the nice chap i am i educate him and tell him it the old one.....they don't do a new one to which he replies "yes they do." I explain to him that he's mistaken the scirrocco for the corrado. Don't think he appreciated it as it was 5 mins before they close and all of sudden the computer 'wasn't working' so i couldn't order my parts!

I might pop along as well. If anything just to meet some of you guys. Anyone going up from London on the sunday?

There used to be a section on here where you could ask forum members who live near the said car to go and have a look for you. Saves you time and wasted journey. In hindsight i wish id taken advantage of this and had someone who knows corrados come along with me.

So i don't remove the plastic sheeting that covers the actual door (when the door card is removed? Think its some sort of wind/rain proofing. Just stick the dynamat to the metal frame and this plastic sheeting? Sorry if i sound thick, just want to sort it out in one go so want to get all the bits together.

Thinking of going down the same route as you guys. Where do you buy the dynamat from? And it just fits to the rear of the door card?

When i fitted mine didn't need any spacers. And it sits fine and works perfectly. Mine is off a passat (i think).

Too true. When i bought my car chains weren't noisy. Found out the pad had completely worn away. An example of body being pretty good but mechanically not so great.

Yes I have a late model corrado. Will search the wiki to see how to detach the cables from the controls and go from there.

They move freely now. But before there was a bit of resistance. Just reading on the wiki that I may have broken a clip of some sort but I really don't think that's the case. What would you guys say I should do/check first? I had a quick look in the wiki buy there was nothing definitive apart from me having maybe broken a clip.
