they should go on the solenoid. one may be a spade terminal and the other should go on the bolt fixing in the pic its the brass coloured part with stainless nut on it. that any help?
-
i just though it was a common mod that was easily done and made the car a bit better in the intake said of things.

ive not had a 2l 16v but have had a 1.8 16v and looked into that a bit when i had it. cant give advice on real life performance as never had the 2l but on paper there both the same horse power but the 1.8 is lower insurance group than the 2.0l think it was two groups lower according to parkers but that was a few years back. do the 2.0l have bigger top half inlet manifold like the golf?

treated her to some new samco's! boring blue but was all excited when they came! think it might be a while before i fit them, gonna get new flanges and rad. and think it will get flushed before there changed to. samco.JPG[/attachment:1aoxx7p5]

RESULT! happy you got them back and TBH failry surprised. bet the feeling deep down in your gut of never seeing them again has now been flushed away! happy for you! Si

so all you've done to run it without a charger is put that exhaust pipe to the intake side of the intercooler and it runs?

i had this prob with my first rado, i got pulled over and taken to a ministry of transport testing station which had been set up for the night. they tested the front windows in three different places and they were "illegal" so the car was impounded and i had to take the tints of with my fingernails, which was a right ball ache! anything behind the drivers seat can be as dark as you want, you could paint them black if you wished! but the fronts have to let 74% light through (i think its 74 may be a little less) if you get the backs dark then the fronts legal i dont think you would notice until you were looking at it from the side square on. any other angle and i dont think you would tell cause you would see the backs through the front making them appear darker. why you would want to go to the effort of trying to put two regs in and two pieces of glass i dont know. how about some tinted perspex cut the same shape as the fronts them some smalls bits of velcro so you could whip it off when the fuzz come by? Si

did you check the dipstick see if there enough oil in her? could be faulty sensor, oil pump knackerd? if you like it, before comitting to buy get him to do the work/checked out first then go from there. if he really wants to sell it he should be prepared to do any work that needs to sell. Si.

is it the same mounting points? i guess it would just have screw holes for the aircon rad to fix to? which dealers did you get it from sometimes they have stock laying about, or so the guy at VW told me.
-
according to the dealer they dont do a rad for the G60 anymore. still get all the coolant flanges though. so looks like im going to the likes of euro, pages, partco etc... there nout actually wrong with mine just thought i would treat her to a new one.
-
strip them down and you would prob get about £6-7 quid a wheel scrap! but then your stuck with tyres. pretty sure you can take then to the tip but you might have to to seperate journeys with them.
-
well who makes the OEM ones? surely at this stage it must be the same as aftermarket suplliers such as euro, partco etc??? will give VW a ring tomoz see how much they gonna charge me. best the talc out! but you never know might have one laying around!
-
dont really need one but ordered some samco's so thought i might as well put a new rad and fittings on at the same time. just wondering if anyone can recomend anywhere to get one? been quoted £85 inc vat locally, which i didnt think was to bad but he would have to check availability first.
-
check it out! i think that shape of exhaust tip suits the car. its come up nice to! must admit mine sounds well and its the same as yours. hope your happy with it. Cheers Si.
-
cool sounds good. its just that they seem to be about £30-35 cheaper than anywhere else. i just worry that they will turn up and they will be "SANCO" - some dodgy taiwan equivalent. but with so many sales im sure that they will be all good and the genuine artical
-
looking at getting some samco's and this guy seems to be cheap! just wondering if anyone has used him for anything? loads of feedback and it all generally seems good. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Amber-Performance Cheers Si.

Was think bout gettin it recond before puttin it in, but didn't won't to throw money at it and it be a load of poo. So getting it put in see what it's like then I will either get mine recond or get anthor diesel box and get that recond

get the grinder out and whip a few coils off! :D if you on a budget ive got some complete used shocks with lowered springs. not exactly sure how much as there on a car i stripped but i would say there of a 40mm minimum £40 plus postage. ive got coilovers on mine and tbh its a bit to low and could do with highering(?) it about 10mm its very hard ride but goes round corners great! also venom is a good place to buy from. delt with him a few times as he's only about 10mins drive from me. give him a ring and i sure he'd adivse on what there like. he's had some awesome cars made too. that lupo with the S3 engine and running gear was fookin brilliant!

just read what i wrote, how bad was that! i was partly watching a film so thats why my grammer and spelling is so bad im not really a spaztard! but yeah it was well deep but least now i know for next time it lashes it down. just worried about underlying water in the footwell's think there's a hole in the floorplan somewhere so needs investigating! and then worrying bout the engine but think its all good. how come with a corrado it always seems to be one thing after another! is that just the carma of the car or is there a tiki god in there which volkswagen hide somewhere in the car when each one was built?
-
well it lashed it down today and my car was in my works car park. i was out doing work stuff and came back to this: 108_0230.JPG[/attachment:2lhq3x8a] i was like ha look at that and didnt think any more off. this was about 4:10pm. that at about 5pm a member of staff came to me and saod any ones care in the care best get moved as the water is now up to his sills - and that a mk2 standard mondeo. i thought oh poo poo! when outside and the water is now that high i couldnt see the bottome two spokes of my wheels. and wass mm's from the tip of the exhaust. one of the lads had already got his car out and was soaked so he got mine out for me so i didnt have to get wet. he opened the door and shputed i think you got a leak! there rear footwell was like a puddle! so got it oak and there smoke billowing from the exhaust and im thinkin s##t! but it appears jsut to be water vapour and has seemed to have cleared up. got home and whent to get the VAX to suck the water up. when getting thatout the end if the hose hit the tank on my bike and put a chip in it! aarrhhhggg! got outside it it started to rain again! so seat is now getting rained on cause its out out of the car, and the vax is outside in the rain! pluss side i seemed to get the carpet as dry as it was gonna get and also look pretty clean! bad times!
-
Cool cheers. A lot of it just looks a bunch of numbers! But getting a rough idea. Gonna check the code on the diesel box I got and go from there

2nd gear on my G60 cruches when changing up or down! just wondering what options i have? i could get it reconed but this then leaves me without the car for a short while and from what i can gather is quite pricey! i have a 1.8 16v which im breaking but i think the ratios will be to short? i see that the mk3 golf 16v box looks good but agin trying to get one might be a bit expensive. i have a mk3 golf gl tdi box no idea of code yet but would that make a difference? would the tdi box be any good in my G60?
