  1. i would think that this would be old news to you folks over in europe... when i talk to canadian corrado guys about it they act like its been done a hundred times. there are a number of canadian corrados that have done this conversion using G60 Passat Syncro parts. yes, very expensive. need the back end of the passat floor pan welded in.. passat gas tank.. and the syncro.. for starters.
  2. there are about 3 or 4 long posts on here about removing it.. you've read these and still don't understand? its to keep the charger cooler > more efficient > less wear on internal parts it also frees up a second inlet hole to the charger so you can run a second intake. or, just block it off with a blocking plate if you have no need for a 2nd intake. (dual air intakes feeds the charger with equal amounts of air on both sides.. keeping the unit in better balance. although this is debatable). then. .. you can either run the valve cover breather (oil vapour) to your block off plate or second intake and into the charger.. as some people will tell you this oil vapour is critical to lubrication within the charger... or take the block off plate or second intake off every now and then and spray some appropriate lubricant in there. i said appropriate. ok enough of this stale topic.

    ISV or ECU problem?

could be very possible that the ecu is fried. very easy to mess them up when connecting/disconnecting the isv apparently. did you get the ecu from a junker? has it ever worked?

    ISV or ECU problem?

either way... it sounds like ECU or ISV could be at fault. try to find someone with a spare working ecu/isv and swap out to test.

    ISV or ECU problem?

so... its not CIS-E anymore, its now digifant I?
  6. so they did the water pump and nothing changed? :? are you sure its even the charger? regarding belt tension.. you should be able to twist the belt 90 degrees.. not much less, not much more.

    ISV or ECU problem?

probably. or a tempermental vac leak... blue temp sensor... could be anything. might help to know what engine you have in there..
  8. my buddy has an S13 240sx.. he wants to do the SR20DET swap but he'll never get enough cash together. his insurance cost keeps him down. can't even afford to lower it. not that its an overly expensive car.. our insurance costs are just nuts over here right now.
  9. then i don't know what to tell ya! i agree with ya... looks untidy without the spoiler on. i'd keep the 50mm on there and scrape it up daily driving. if you go to shows or meets buy a spare 50mm to put on. there is no aftermarket that sits higher than the stock bumper. even the zender, which i think is one of the highest, sits lower than the stock bumper.
  10. i like some aspects of the design, but not enough to say i'd buy one. i'd much rather they kept on with the corrado! (corrado cabrio, corrado synchro, corrado 1.8T... they could have gone in so many directions with it) this concept has nice elements but i think there's a bit of tackiness to it or something.. can't quite put my finger on it. don't like the front end much at all... maybe if i saw one in person, or actual photographs, i'd change my mind.
  11. ya i agree with dazzy. i had my whole exhaust replaced mid-summer... and the fuggin rattle was still there! there was a heat shield buried up inside the bay that we had to get at from below and cut out of there. problem solved.
  12. i agree danger mouse. i too forgot to mention the '67 GT500. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6256 ??? how did the bid get so high? must be a joke..
  13. get the 50mm spoiler instead of the 90mm that is (was) probably on there. i have a 50mm i'd trade for a 90mm but the shipping would be a bitch across the water. i don't think we have as many bumps here as you folks over there. my car is LOW. lowest corrado i've seen in person (about 70-90mm low) and i have no problems with bumps and the 50mm spoiler as long as i'm smart about how i approach things. i just take everything at a really sharp angle. get one tire up on the bump and then there's no problems... usually hah!
  14. Escort Cosworth..but they didn't ship them here. We did however, get the Merkur XR4Ti (ford's 'euro' branding..) which was also made at, you guessed it Karmann coachworks. RWD 2.3L Turbo lots of fun. The body (other than the bumpers, trim, grill, spoilers) is identical to the cozzie, except the back glass is split on the XR. i bought an XR a few years ago.. still plan to do it up as a cozzie some day!! you'll NEVER see cozzie over here. if i were to buy a car that would be somewhat practical, have a warrantee, reasonable sticker price (or i'd say porsche) and not require me to be under the hood every second day i think i'd go for a the new 350z. what can i say, dead sexy. oh.. and don't forget the stillen supercharger
  15. that blond looks so dirty!!! i'd like to get a hold of her and... :batman: :afro:
  16. passat is a better fit, as mentioned. didn't you say there was some sort of problem with leaks with the jetta part skye?
  17. here's my swing on things.. its hard to get the black rims to look proper when starting with white ones, but you get the idea. i know you don't like black rims ant, but with the tinted tails/windows i think its the shit.
  18. very nice. is it lowered any more than ant's actual car? i've always thought it would look amazing to shave the mirrors, but its a little impractical so i never followed up or photochopped them off or anything, but that looks great. i'd lose the sidemarker and gas flap and make em dark rims.. but thats me. nice work.

    newbie.....

    try rado1.jpg instead of Rado1.jpg
  20. i hope you didnt disconnect the ISV while the car is running... that might be your problem right there. that will fry the ECU. i was about to go off on vacuum lines but you say those are fine. if you can get your hands on a confirmed working ISV, put that on and see. DO NOT disconnect the ISV with the car running. v bad.
  21. doesnt sound like its the cause of any problems for you.. but make sure the TB to ECU line is *exactly* 3.5mm ID and 1m long. exactly. and if you put a used blue temp sensor in there, go buy a spankin new one from the stealer. this will eliminate these two common issues from the possibilities. the fluctuating idle problem is usually a faulty blue temp sensor or isv.

    eyebrows?

ive seen eyebrows over the stock grill before. no idea who makes them tho..
  23. andiG60: soaking in petrol overnight would be far more detrimental to the unit than spraying it with carb cleaner. there's a motor in the unit that i was told to keep *up* while cleaning it so as to not get carb cleaner in the motor... surely soaking in petrol overnight would foul the motor.
