Council property can count as private, my focus has been stood on stands on a cobbled bit of a residential car park and the housing manager and the police told me it was ok to be uninsured on that spot but that the tarmac counted as highway.

I'd urge everyone to do this, we've lost a few recovery drivers/companies from our network because of motorway traffic fatalaties. (Work in Breakdown recovery if you hadn't guessed" They're in hi-vis with big vans with flashing lights and that still doesn't make them safe, on an unlit stretch of motorway what chance does a normal person have trying to change an offside flat tyre? Everytime the yaris attempted to undertake the focus would speed up or move over to block him. Then proceeded to drive straight over all the lanes at the r/a, the yaris turned off left and I got stuck behind the plonk doing exactly the same to me! Balls to this, left him standing at the first safe opportunity, looked over and he was well into his 40's!

Saw 2 yesterday! Within 5 minutes of each other! One in bramley on a drive, dbp 16v with crystal rears and flat tyres, Then a J reg G60 on lowtown, pudsey with pressed plates and for sale stickers!
-
It should unscrew, if the knob has split you're gonna need a set of molegrips on it I should imagine,

HXX VRG Dark Green VR6 Yesterday about 6pm, stanningley road heading towards dawsons corner roundabout. Pretty sure the fella driving it had a hi-vis on. I'm sure I've seen it around before, possibly around easterly rd(sp?) way?

There's no way in hell that wasn't penned as a new corrado. I want one. :(

An Update: The garage replaced everything. Including all the parts I replaced myself on the car and just the one side caliper. Which was nice. But not what I asked them to do.
-
I do love Serj, Empty walls is one of my current favourite songs! Listening to some classic Ice T at the moment, there was one song I'm raving about from the GTA IV soundtrack but for the life of me I can't remember what! Got Come Whatever May - Stone Sour in the car at the moment too,
-
Thing is, I have a spare bulb set in the car, so I fixed that, I had a spare facelift headlight with a bust case that I swapped over, wiper arms I bent enough to clear the screen and fitted flat blade wipers. I've also got some new calipers and pads coming so they don't require those. Handbrake failed because of the fecked caliper, no pad on it and doesn't bite at all! Little miffed to be honest, and I just hope the guy added it up wrong!
-
One was a prefacelift, one was a facelift, failed because the pre one had less light output. I'm just wondering how the garage got to £412 to change a bearing, and have a look at the suspension top! Ball joints aren't that expensive are they? Gonna be a nice chat when I get down to the garage after work. Rear disks and pads were changed about 3 months ago so I didn't think there was anything to worry about with those! But it's not a massive issue, I've sorted 2 new calipers so I hope I don't have to worry about them seizing again. As for bulbs, I had one led bulb in and one glass bulb for some reason in the numberplate light so I dunno what's gone on there! Cost of car this month so far: £1150. *sigh* (and rising)
-
Bill for £412 from the garage... how much does a macpherson strut cost to replace?
-
I'm hoping it was just a greasy road! can't afford for it not to be! Getting the bushes checked whilst it's in at the garage today just in case!
-
Had this issue recently as well, it's like the front end pitched in randomly... Normally round a corner that I can drive pretty hard and it left me doing about 10 - 15 mph through it!
-
Hah tell me about it, I had to have a suspension overhaul, then tax, then the gearbox went, then needed tyres now this... Boy, corrado's sure know how to empty a bank account in style! Still loads that needs fixing.
-
It is after the amount I've spent on it in the past few months! Just glad there's no rust...

Looking on the brightside, at least I only got one advisory! 001 Rear Registration plate lamp bulb not working 002 Offside front headlamp excessively damaged so that the light output is severely reduced 003 Nearside windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively 004 Parking brake lever has no reserve travel 005 Offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort 006 Offside rear wheel bearing has excessive play 007 Offside rear wheel bearing rough when rotated 008 Offside front suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint 009 Offside inner rear brake pad(s) less than 1.5 mm thick 010 Nearside front Macpherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment 011 Parking brake efficiency below requirement From what I can gather, I need a new ball joint, the wheel bearing and Macpherson strut may tighten up. I have a spare headlamp so that's not an issue and bulbs are only a pound or so, if I can't bend the windscreen wiper I'll consider buying lupo gti/tt arms for it. The brake issue points to it having completely seized, what am I looking at cost wise for this? Is the golf mk4 upgrade gonna be more cost effective? And the advisory: 001 Corroded PAS Pipes. Not bad for it's 16th/17th MOT...
-
I prefer them over the 3 slat badgeless to be honest, At least it's a straight grill!
-
is this the guy that owns Trade Centre in Wales? There's a few fairly mental collections of RS' out there, I remember about a year back one garage clearout including 5 Sierra RS500 body on white racing shells! nice 20k buy it now tag!
-
Bought my car 15/03/10, probably averages at around £150/mo before actual running costs. But most of it comes in big fecking chunks, £700 all in once, and then £450 all in once, then small pieces... *sigh* I hope I'm reaching the end of the tunnel.

proper robbery aint it mate! does that mean il be seeing more of your corrado then? other half here for uni? Very likely! She's doing Primary Education and got 2 more years of it, next time I'm gonna be up I'll drop you a PM fella, Already got 1 set of parking tickets from "Parking Eye"... robbing bastards! Although, they keep sending you nice pictures of your car if you don't pay, which is kinda nice...
-
Mememememememe! Helped t'other half move in to Pavillion Square. Thank god for those resident scratch cards though, I'll be fecked if I'm to pay for parking for 3 days in scarborough! Currently running on 17" Dezent 5 spokes... heavy as fook but cheaper tyres than 16"s.
-
I've just recently replaced my 16v rad, The correct rad should have the two large connectors on the back of the rad on the left hand side (looking as if from the front of the car) It should then have a small one on the top left hand side facing towards the drivers side wing, if it doesn't it's the wrong rad I should imagine. I replaced mine with a cheap aem one and it had the correct fittings on it,
-
Have to admit I was never fond of the old UR, just looked clumsy! It is however the closest thing designwise I reckon we'll see to a corrado! Squared headlamps[/*:m:323s9tu1] Short, square cut coupe rear[/*:m:323s9tu1] Huge C Pillars[/*:m:323s9tu1] All it needs is a host of electrical issues and a kickass pop up spoiler and I'd jizz my pants
-
Autoblog linky Boredom at work is a beautiful thing isn't it? Anyways, this caught my eye, I know it's more of a new audi coupe/quattro/sport but because they made it look better it's lines just look so much like what a new corrado should look like.

And how many G, J, and K reg's are either driven by the rather older generations or young women with no care about cars...
