  1. Thanks for posting. The first rally car that I remember liking was the 205 T16; the Audi Quattro was just a bit before my time!

    VAG Paint

    I noticed that too! :)
  3. Green 'A15***' in central Brighton yesterday; I think it's a VR6. I was walking into town so didn't get a good look.
  4. Stunning. No other words for it! :)

He fitted mine back in Feb. Again, very happy with his work.
  6. I got a lead foot, so I have never seen high 30s MPG in my VR6, until last night when I had to do a 70-mile trip and as I wasn’t in a hurry, I decided to settle to a gentle 60mph cruise (except a couple of short bursts at 120mph cos I got bored!) :) and managed 37mpg for the whole trip. It even got to as high as 37.6 at one point. Not bad for a 17 year-old motor! For reference, year one of my ownership, the car managed 25.04 mpg (7,910 miles, with not much urban driving) and so far two months into year two (1,312 miles) it manages 29.78 mpg. Total overall MPG 25.62 (9222 miles).
  7. Standard looking green VR6 with black interior in Central Brighton about 20 minutes ago. Reg No. L14 *** Chap driving was wearing sunglasses and massive Hawaiian hat! :)
  8. Like! All the major works have been done as well; good purchase! The ride height suits the BBS/car very well!
  9. Or rather, how many are ‘taxed’. Shamelessly taken from another forum…. (Requires Excel) http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/statistics/datatablespublications/vehicles/licensing/all-stock/veh0120.xls
  10. Changed the ECU relay last night and then went for a 60-mile drive and the car ran fine. It’s a win. (At least for now!) :) Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread.
  11. New ECU relay 109 fitted - part no 1J0906381A
  12. I like it very much; a lot of car for the money!
  13. Thanks everyone. Just picked up an ECU relay 109 from dealer; £17 inc VAT, part no 1J0906381A I’ll have it changed later if the weather’s good.
  14. Update Did a twenty-mile journey yesterday, the engine cut out FOUR times, each time without warning. The car was running along fine and all of the sudden the rev counter would read zero; I tried putting the foot down on the accelerator; clutch in/out; nothing. I stopped the car and tried to restart but it wouldn’t. Electricity was fine as the wipers, headlights, CD player were all working. I was lucky the road wasn’t that busy otherwise it would have been really dangerous. I switched everything off; left it for 30 sec to a minute, mysteriously it started again. Been told that it could be the cam-angle sensor……. I'm baffled. :(
  15. Driving along on motorway, on three separate occasions there was a sudden lost of drive, each lasting fewer than half a second. On each occasion the engine speed was at around 3500-4000 rpm, speed at around 75-85 mph. There was no warning lights on dashboard, and oil temp/level, coolant temp/level were all fine. There was no loss of electric (CD player was on). Road condition was damp on two occasions and dry on one. On all occasions the engine speed dropped of by around 250 rpm. MPG was normal (indicants took place during a 370-mile round trip to Bristol on Sat and Sun, car returned with 30.4 mpg) I had since driven at speed in excess of 115 mph and also taken the engine to red line on a few occasions at 2nd and 3rd gear, and the engine felt fine and smooth. Any ideas? Thanks! ***SEE UPDATE BELOW***
  16. That surprises me! I like Accord Type-R. For FWD family car I also quite like the ST220 (saloon please, not hatchback). Not as cheap though.
  17. ^^ The convey was cool! Glad you made it home ok! I’ll need to do my heater matrix at some point too…..
  18. Ditto. I might have called you Chris on more than one occasion, sorry about that! :) Good luck with the interview this week!
  19. Had the car on rolling road yesterday; 192.6 BHP @ 5764rpm and 187.4 lb/ft @ 4284rpm. Right on the money.
