  1. It was a good meeting; thanks Ron for organizing this. Very good turn-out and breakfast was good too! Apologies if I got your names wrong / have forgotten some of the names…. On the way back I might have been sapped by traffic police on M23; it was a hand-held device and I was going 95-ish….. Saw it late so can’t complain. Damn it! Regards, Kin
  2. Cool, another Ice Grey Violet; by my count there are now six at the forum (yours, mine, Kev’s VRT, Ice Violet, Abdul & JoeyB) RE: bodyshop at Yorkshire, start a thread at the ‘suppliers’ section’, I’m sure somebody can point you to right direction. Good luck!
  3. 65.3 mpg; that’s almost 1000 miles between fill-ups for a full tank! How brilliant! Great work!
  4. Hi Charlie, John, Is this the lay-by mentioned? I can meet you there 7.15-7.30am. I’ll be driving L-reg Ice Grey Violet VR6 with BBS wheels. Whist we have all southerners’ attention; could anyone recommend me somewhere for wheel alignment? Preferably in Sussex but would be happy to travel to Hampshire / Kent / Surrey. Regards, Kin Ps, I have 4 x BBS solitudes for sale if anyone is interested. Cheers.
  5. Count me in! Be prepared to be bombarded with a bunch of newbie questions! Any ideas of meeting place prior? FYI I’ll be traveling via A(M)23 / M25 / M3 but can meet up wherever. Regards, Kin Ps, anyone interested in a set of BBS Solitude (they're all round not cracked, 5 x 100, legal tyres, odd brands)? It’d save me putting them up on ebay and arrange courier etc. I’ll even wrap them up in bubble wraps so it’ll keep your car’s interior clean.
  6. Moved to Brighton about three years ago due to job change. I’m only a newbie with regard to track day. Went to Brands in February and loved it; I was there for the whole day and my standard car stood up well. Wish I had your budget! :-)
  7. Only done one track day so far; which was at Brands a couple of months ago. Plan to do another two this year, probably Cadwell in June and Snetterton later this year. I plan to visit all of the major UK tracks, 'ring and Spa in the next few years. I'm based in Brighton so Brands Hatch is fairly close to me. Cheers!
  8. I really like the OEM look of the car. Did the seats come from Porsche GT3? How much would the car weight once it's finished? 1,000kg possible? And if you ever come to Brands Hatch, shotgun please. :-)
  9. It’s not my daily, I walk to work! I do however do a lot of miles for ‘pleasure’, which probably explains the below average overall MPG. I had anticipated the hefty yearly spending; as this was the first year under my ownership so I was busy putting things right. I would expect Year 2 spending to be a ‘bit’ less. Or not. :-) Car drives really well; still needs a bit of works done cosmetically such as cracked fog lights, stone chips, scuff marks, parking dings etc…. but as I’m a keen driver my priorities have always been mechanical components. Roll on Year 2!
  10. 12-month report: Miles driven - 7,910 (83,926 current) Fuel used - 1,435.88 litres Fuel cost - £1,815.99 MPG - 25.04 Fuel cost per mile - 23p Amount spent on services, MOT, repairs, upgrades & general maintenance - around £2,463.58 (Exc tax, insurance, parking permit, fuel)
  11. I watched a TV programme about that town / bridge a couple of years ago! Could be a travel programme; might even be ‘Coach Trip’ on C4!
  12. Feedbacks from the PH forum seem to be pretty good RE: new layout. :-) I started looking at June date yesterday after reading your post…… I may just visit Cadwell Park first before Snetterton. I was going to stay at B&B anyway for either venues and Travelodge has rooms near-by for £19 per night at both places. Also, I’ve worked out that it’s only extra £26 fuel cost traveling to Cadwell compares to Snetterton so not much difference there…. The only snag is that the entry fee to Cadwell is a bit dearer than Snetterton (179/169 vs 119). May need to upgrade my front pads first though cos they smelt pretty bad towards the end at Brands Hatch; though in terms of performance I didn’t feel they faded THAT badly and they're only 7000 miles old so I’m not sure…… On another note, a while ago I was thinking about Spa in November with BookaTrack but then I worked out that it’d cost about £2200 for the whole trip excluding new tyres and oil cooler so I was only day dreaming! LOL. Reality kicks in and it sucks. :-D
  13. Dark blue Corrado with massive aftermarket alloys in Brighton near Duke of York last Friday 1st April (?). Only caught a glimpse as I was in my C at the opposite lane very far behind (London Road). Green 16v with Brighton parking permit parked up by the Brighton flea market in Kemptown a couple of days ago.
  14. Shame! Good find nonetheless. Snetterton for me next I think.
  15. Quick update: Failed MOT a couple of weeks ago. Since then had the following done: New VW (SACHS) rear dampers New CV joint gaiters Fixed hand brake New brake line Annual service Passed its MOT (83469 miles) on Monday with no advisory. Works were completed by forum member ‘tandino’ and G-werks. Darren from G-werks was complimentary about the car.
  16. Drove the car yesterday, the first time since having new VW rear shocks fitted. Does she ride so nicely! Pat_McCrotch’s car must be pretty amazing with all the new VW kits. Kev, I really need to pay you a visit when I’m back in Essex. (I know I’ve said it a million times before!)
  17. Good find! Just need a friendly local tyre fitter then.
  18. RS-2 fitted £149 each! (205/50/15 @mytyres) Shocking! AD08 is available for £102 each fitted but only 195/50/15 at blackcircles.
  19. Cheers Kev, looks like B4 would be good options when mine breaks. The C really is a great all-rounder and mine shall remain that way! :-)
  20. Thanks Kev! TBH I’m just going to leave everything as it is for now (until whatever breaks). I have spent over £2.5k on the car in 11-month ownership, excluding insurance, tax, fuel and parking permit, and that’s just way too much! Driven just over 7,300 miles in 11 month and I don’t even use it as a ‘daily’. Loved (almost) every mile though; glad I ticked the ‘Corrado’ box. Ps, not sure the B4 fronts are inserts or full struts; found them on motorsportworld.co.uk
