  1. My ECU 021906258AG is on the way out, I think the (re-mapped) chip has a broken +ve leg. I urgently need a solution. So I'm thinking about ECU's from breaker. The car has hot wire MAF and no-imobiliser. I've had that the VR6 Golf AF ECU will run but with a different map. Are the any other ECU's I can run and maybe get remapped later?
  2. Hi Folks, My ECU has gone bad, has anyone got a spare AG chip or AG ECU for sale? Cheers
  3. The bolts I used (with the original 3mm VR6 sump gasket) where; Socket Cap Screws A2 Stainless Steel M6 x 20mm with Shake proof washers. Sourced from; http://www.screwfix.com/p/socket-cap-screws-a2-stainless-steel-m6-x-20mm-pack-of-50/19472 and http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/hardware/bolts/washers/Shake-Proof-Internal-Washer-AVF-860652-Pack-Of-25-W-M6-9708789
  4. The 2.8 24v sump woks just fine with the vr6 pump. It's not shallower but the bottom profile seems flatter. Has a larger capacity about 1/2 litre. And I now seem to be running slightly cooler. I would recommend longer bolts as the alloy is much thicker than the old steel sump. And, if changing the bolts, you can use the old style rubber gasket.
  5. Another thumbs up for Lemforder, OEM supplier to BWW, Mercedes. Good quality rubber parts, have used there bushes, ball joints, etc.

  9. I'm hoping to get one in the next 2 weeks, but I'll bear it in mind, ta. Cheers, but it has to from a VR6.
  10. Hi all, I'm looking for a VR6 gearbox, preferably in GWO, but not essential as it's for a build project. Must be cheap though. Cheers,

    how much

Are these US or late UK spec? I paid £20. Wish I never fitted it now, LOL.
  13. Would be interested in the possibility of green ones.
  14. This is how my fusebox looks when unhooked. When I looked into unpicking the tangle many of the wires would need to have the plug end removed to untangle. There is a special vw terminal tool which makes this possible. It would be a nightmare job and I decided the risk wasn't worth it as everything still works ok.
  15. Hi Neil, Please could you put me down for the rad elbow & seal if its not to late. Many thanks for taking the time and effort to organise this. Cheers, Neil

    fade-out cabin light

I used to like how my old clifford alarm delayed the interior light, and came on with remote unlocking. Found this (dimming unknown); http://www.wolstentech.com/products/timedelayrelay/app10.php Or how about keeping it OEM with VW/Audi relay 382 part number 4D0 907 131 should just need a relay plate and a couple of extra wires.
  17. Have these all gone yet? If not, I'll take one. Cheers
  18. Can I squeeze in an order for 2 sets please? ...I'll pay quickly!
  19. Looks like someone has beaten me to it; http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?p=3459356 Well BTTF, love it!

    vr5 gearbox

Not fitted but remember looking into this. Afaik; V5 box has same gear ratios but lower 3.94 final drive. Same mounting points. Maybe different driveshaft flanges depending on v5 code.
  21. Depends which maf you have, there are two types. Early vr 6 pin plug (5 terminals) hot wire type. Late vr 4 pin plug thin film type.. They are not interchangeable without ecu swaps. I think '94 should have the 6pin type. But the 4pin type is better for forced induction and is easier to run a 4" maf tube. Any I think both types were used on the AAA.
