  1. Looks like this article has been swiped straight from the 'car-by-car breakdown' section on the http://www.honestjohn.co.uk website
  2. 30 years old, 7 years no claims, car garaged, 1 x SP30, 6k miles per year and no mods: £388.50 fully comp through http://www.privilege.com, well happy considering a VR6 Storm is group 19.
  3. I think there were 2 types of buttons for the air con. Some Corrados had 2 small buttons by the cigarette lighter, I think it depended on who manufactured/fitted it as A/C was not a factory option on RHD cars. The 'norm' and 'max' buttons by your head unit look like A/C switches, perhaps they were put there to just fill up the blanks as normally the heated front seat switches are there. I don't *think* cloth recaros came with the option of seat heating, only the standard leather and recaro leather did.
  4. Welcome to the wonderful world of VR6 ownership! :) Really like Aqua Blue, and I notice you also have air con too, as well as recaros - nice 8)
  5. I'd read somewhere that the volume on the standard stereo unit was related to the speed you travel ie faster you go, louder it gets? Doesn't seem to work on mine though :?: :?

    Wide Rado

Sorry but I don't like what's been done there  The Corrado is the sort of car whose shape shouldn't really be altered as VW got it so right to begin with IMHO
  7. LOL I know what you're saying, thanks kongo
  8. Couldn't agree more Kev, well said
  9. I wish it was on 40k! :) It was an interval service, car has done just over 99k now but thought I'd go for the biggy just for my own piece of mind
  10. Service and MOT day today for my rado. Apart from routine home maintenance it had yet to have a full service at a garage since I bought it so today it went in for the big 40k mile service. MOT was due in a couple of weeks so thought I'd get that done at the same time.... And it passed first time! :D All that needed doing was adjustment of the o/s wiper arm and washer! In all my years of owning VWs I dont think any of them have ever failed on anything, well nothing that couldnt be adjusted there and then. Just goes to show how well they make 'em, and how well they last if they are maintained properly. Driving back from the garage tonight never felt so good :-P
  11. Barclaycard have just brought out a card with 0% interest until Aug 1st 2005, try that one.
  12. How many miles have they roughly covered please Mike, and did you buy them from new?
  13. Ok thanks £140 seems to be the going rate but can anywhere better this? I'm not in a hurry really, but the sooner I get rid of the 4x4 look the better! :)
  14. Ok guys I'm still after a new set of these for my VR. For those that have a set what price did you pay and where did you get them? Thanks
  15. I had the same Toad alarm in my old 16v Golf and it gave no trouble during my year of ownership, and I had the Concept 300 installed in my Corrado last November, again this has been problem free, so personally I'd recommend either. 8) The arm/disarm fobs on both are roughly the same size although I did have an extra immobiliser key with the Toad. As long as you use a reputable installer you shouldn't go far wrong
  16. I also have a (well read!) copy of Used Car Buyer from July 2001 with a purple Corrado VR6 (M619 JPL) on the front cover as the main feature. Inside is a four page spread describing the VR6 as probably the best used coupe ever, with articles describing driving, owning and buying a VR6. 8)
  17. BP Ultimate and Shell Optimax now 89.9p here...  Looks as though the protests are being called off too, because the Government is 'reconsidering' it's proposed fuel duty increase. How kind of them. W@nkers!! :mad2:
  18. Try http://www.volksbits.com I got mine from them
  19. Yep Reggit yours sounds like the same symptoms as mine but i know it's not the heater blower motor, that part hasn't worn out just yet! :) Also ruled out the brake pads as I used the engine to slow the car down a few times and the noise was continuing.
  20. Thanks guys, It's due a service next month so I'll point my friendly mechanic in the direction of your ideas whilst it's on the ramps, see if he can cure it. Cheers :)
  21. Only a handful, this is about the 5th one I've ever heard of, and those have all been VR6s including a couple of storms. Can't wait to see the pics, she sounds a beaut :-P 8)
  22. OOPS! Not been on here since Friday, please lock thanks Mods
  23. Road speed, I revved it at standstill and it was fine. I can hear the noise slowing down as the car slows down.
