Could have been as bad as this guy. Got fired for smoking roll-ups!!
-
olly elworthy, I live down in Torquay. The ten tors meet is a regular thing isn't it? I've got my evening's and weekends clogged up with a project for the next coupla weeks, but definitely when I get it cleared. Whereabouts is the pub?
-
Well, TSR never called me back  so I phoned up Stealth and got it booked in for later this month 8)
-
Just to conclude this one: gave it a charge and clean over the weekend, seems to be ok again! Will be keeping an eye on it though... Cheers for all your help.

Any idea how long the work I mentioned above would take to do? I don't mind sitting around and eating pasties at Stealth for a short while, but not if it took all day! There's only so many pasties a man can eat... Cheers for the info bristolbaron. Looks like I'll have to make a few phonecalls tomorrow.

Sounds promising, Jim. Even the previous owner of mine said they were good, as he'd had the koni's fitted there. But I hear so little else about them... which worries me a little. Henny, I am starting to consider Stealth, seeing how everyone raves about them, but its just so far from where I live!! I'd have to make a full day of it, and I'm not sure how much there is to do around Warwickshire...? Do you think you could give me the details for Grant Motorsport, Storm? Bristol isn't too much further than bridgewater for me. Thanks.

I love that colour, it adds an air of sophistication to the C. Nice car! :)

I need to take my car in for an uber-service, along with some new engine mounts and a check over the gearshift alignment. Has anyone ever used TSR Performance in Bridgewater? Are they reputable? They're reasonably close to me, which is why i ask. Cheers!

Did the same with mine! You can fit the door pin back in without taking the whole lock out, but its fiddly. It fits into the small white lever inside the door, the right-angled end-bit clips into a small hole in the lever. Difficult to explain, but with a torch and some wiggling you can fix it.

My door-pin fell off when I removed the door cards, and I spent ages trying to figure out how it went back in. If yours has fallen off then you need to fit in back into the little white lever that sits inside the door. It simply clips in, with the right-angled bit located in a hole, but its really fiddly.

I've also got a terrible habit of leaving an indicator down when I park up, which leaves the corrosponding side-light on. What's the reasoning behind that little 'design' quirk?

Haha! would have loved to have seen that :D

OK, we know your cars, where did your names come from???

Chicane is awesome!! No idea what he's up to these days. Far from the Maddening Crowds is an all-time fave though. My name goes back to my college days when someone gave me a sponsered kangaroo for my 18th birthday. Bless the little bugger, I still sponser him you know, lives at the local zoo. Haven't been to see him in a while though.. feeling the pangs of guilt... -
Had to pass a gritter on the way home from work this evening. I felt every chip hit the paintwork as if it were my own body  And now the poor thing is covered in salt.

I can relate! Black looks great just after a wash and wax, but an hour later it looks dirty again. As much as black looks cool on a sporty car, I'm not sure I'd go for it again!
-
Just make sure you sell it to an enthusiast who realises the un-importance of dealership history on a 14 year-old car :)
-
Thanks for the replies, Gibber and Kev! Will give it a charge overnight and see how it goes before considering Kev's uber-upgrade :) Jim: sent you the pic!

jimsG60: I drew it myself! I was very bored at work last week. If you want I can post up the full version.

Okay, not so much a blackout, but just recently whenever the cooling fans kick in there's a dip in power; the headlights and interior lights dim and even the car itself will lurch for a split second. Most noticeable when I'm crawing along in a queue. Could it just be a naff battery? or something else? Car seems to start ok, perhaps a tad sluggish, but it always fires up. Thanks for any advice.

I have exactly the same problem! I'd be interested if you find out what it is. I've got it booked into a garage for some work next month and may get them to take a look.

The stainless steel plates on Dinkus' group-buy were from Dub Design Industries. They replaced the normal plastic ones but were no longer or wider than standard. I don't think you can go that much longer on them anyway.. wider certainly, but i've yet to find ones that actually protect the very edge of the sill (where people always scuff their feet  )

Sure I've seen that before. I remember someone saying the rear arches looked liked the bat-mobile. Yuk!

The fabled Kiwi shoe dye trick isn't bad, gave it a go myself and it lasts a little longer than the autogylm stuff! Couple of months though and it was back to faded grey again. I don't think theres a long term solution...
-
I really think I need to take a trip there myself...

Nice car! I love RS front bumpers. I want one for mine. Wonder if I could get away with having the license plate in the same position... Sweet wheels too, not so sure about the spoiler tho. Welcome!
